  • When working on The Writer's Brush--my book about great writers who were also visual artists--I had the honor of interviewing the late Derek Walcott, Nobel Laureate for Literature, about his art and his views about the relationship between poetry and painting.     Humility, clarity of thinking and tremendous compassion are the most charming aspects of the man, the artist!

    Compelling piece, Don and Emily. Ending particularly beautiful. Many great moments/comments--the "unpainted," notion of light as the ideal, artist striving to remove the "I." A 5 min. curriculum.
