- Tony Butler armed with his brand new Vintage V4MTB bass and fellow Big Country bandmate Mark Brzezecki give a drum 'n'bass rendition of some of their biggest hits at the 2012 London Bass Guitar Show.
Criminally underrated bassist ~ both artist, I should say. Tony & Mark formed one of the greatest rhythm sections that ever lived!
I like Tony's approach. He is supports the artist or band he plays with rather than putting the spotlight on himself.. I like the other sort of player like Jamerson or Entwhistle who are more melodic all the time, but I respect Tony's humility. He plays melodically when it is called for and more "rhytmicaly" when the voice or guitars need room. All the time he is deep in the pocket and communicating with the drummer. Class act.
One of the best rhythm sections in rock history. Throw in 2 amazing lead guitarists, one of whom is a modern day lyrical poet, and you might have a pretty awesome band ;)
Tony Butler is one of the most unique bass players out there.
