The coupon code I have for the Arduino IoT Cloud , "DRONEBOTSHOP", will give you two months of Maker Plan for free. Note that this is NOT an affiliate thing, I don't get anything if you use it! I was a guest at the Arduino Cloud Cafe last month and will be doing a presentation during Arduino Days at the end of March, so I have had several meetings with Arduino recently. I told them about this video and asked for a coupon code, and they obliged. It is good until March 18, 2024. There is also a FREE cloud plan that does not require a code, you can do most of the experiments with that.
Bill, I'd watched and enjoyed your videos off and on for a few years, but around December I decided to get serious about this microcontroller and electronics hobby thing, and you have helped me over an incredible number of stumbling blocks! It's not an exaggeration to say I'd have given up without your calm and thorough instruction. Thank you so much!
Another excellent treatise!!! I'll be going down this path more, once I identify how I want to control 220 VAC electric baseboard heaters, and possibly, make a "dumb" water heater into a "smart" water heater. Just SO much to do and this research and purchases are just dragging on!!! Always enjoy your videos! Thanks for all your hard work!
Hey Bill, thanks for all the work you put in on this channel and your website. I've learned quite a bit, you teach at a great pace and I always look forward to your next video!
Thanks for the great video, I tried all the code mentioned, but the ESP32 never connected to the IOT cloud. I went to the arduino documentation for such problems and tried the solutions there, but they did not work, please help.
Bill, please check for the wiring chart of that Arduino. voltage is missing at the board, it seems to me. Maybe you would like to add this to your pinned comment or video description. Edit: seems you run it from USB, so no worries. Was a bit confusid
Another fantastic tutorial! Thank you! I'll be using this with my ESP32 Cam 3D printer webcam to send me an email when the print job is done. I was using IFTTT with the GMail widget but then they changed it that you have to pay for it and I'm not interested in that. Thanks again!
Uno R4 part works but when I go to the ESP32 it comes up as device not on line even though I have associated my WiFi credentials. Could you suggest a reason. Can ESP only access the lower wifi band?
Thanks Bill for the splendid presentation. Loved hiw you took your time as usual to explain everything in detail. Would be nice if you make a video on the scheduler feature of the Arduino IoT cloud.
Bill, many thanks for all your work on this and so many other videos. I have a present project for changing bands on an antenna and this is ideal after Blynk went totally commercial . Unfortunately the buttons trigger the pins by just passing the mouse over them, and then pins stay high no matter the button state. I have tried PULL-UP, PULL-DOWN resistors but no result. I appreciate how busy you are but if you have any idea why this is happening I would be very grateful.
Hey Bill, another great video thanks for your due diligence in informing us on IoT. also just as a heads up here. The PDF and Parts List links are not active on the article page, just thought you should know.
Thanks for the very helpful videos. It's a lot of work. How do you think WiFi Manager can be used for the Arduino IDE Cloud platform? After all, if you make a finished product, the client has his own Wi-Fi network, and he must connect the device to it.
Thank you, Bill, for the great video. I do have two parts that I don't really understand. My cloud variables are regularly updated. However, I wonder when the corresponding functions are called. I had understood that this always happens when a variable is changed. But that doesn't seem to be the case. I have to call these functions within a loop() otherwise, nothing happens. The second question concerns the Serial Monitor. I use the latest online editor to edit my sketches, but the Serial Monitor button in the browser doesn't function. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you for your help. John
Sir please make a video on how to control 4 relays with esp32 while using Web Server and also control with IR Remote and save the last state of relays in EEPROM
many are going OUT as far as possible from 3rd party clouds (see Home Assistant, that brings almost everything now locally) but here we are and we... go cloud ;-)
Hi from France and thank a lot for your video. When I do the same test as you with my board UNO R4 Wifi I have a problem during the setup. In fact I never haven't my ID and password as you during your video (12.28). I tried several times without success but when I test with ESP32 it's OK :( . Do you have some idea why I have this problem. By advance thank a lot for your help. Jean-Claude
Had a bit of an issue where I got error74 after trying to configure my Giga R1 WiFi board. To solve this I downloaded the IDE desktop application and had it install all necessary drivers by selecting the giga in the board manager. After that I was able to setup the Giga through the IOT cloud, leaving it here if anybody else ever has this issue ;)
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! I've been designing a 3.5' tall x 3' diameter chandelier lit by 90 Arduino NeoPixel Mini-Button BCB's controlled by an ESP32 for over 1 1/2 years. Your tutorials have helped me overcome several hurdles, most recently, how can I change the lights (functionality). from a remote location via WiFi. Another hurdle overcome! Thank You!
If I understand it correctly, arduino cloud cannot be used as an IoT server without a computer? Makes no sense to me. Therefore question: I have an esp32 that connects to a nearby wifi hotspot.... what IoT platform would be better suited to display data being sent by this esp?. I'm trying to wrap my head aroud all this cloud iot stuff.
So...Am I dependent on someone else's server somewhere and on my connection to the www? Is there a version where the cloud is MINE and the control of it is MINE, that is everything is ENTIRELY on MY local network?
OK. Is the development done on my desktop with something like a super ide or a LOCAL program, or is www connection required? Still not clear as to where the work is done and where the information is stored. Sorry to be dense about this. In other words, is this a paid service to which I am bound for as long as I want the iot system to continue working or to modify it?
Can someone PLEASE tell me how i can add an open WiFi network that has no password? I've been struggling with it since August. Nothing works. And please don't ask me to add a password to the Wifi. It's my school's wifi. I'm building them an environment monitor. Thx!
This is pretty cool. But how is this better than a building your own custom webpage using html, css and javascript for more flexibilty and using websockets. I guess with the iot cloud you can build things pretty easily without havng to know the web technologies. Can you steam video to the cloud ?
For me the whole purpose of microcontrollers is to not be dependent on the cloud/internet and tinker with this stuff ourselves and keep control ourselves. This video is really good a always, but i won't be using this video.
would be nicer without the cloud. bit f a loss of time xplaining to connect with a cloud. give them your personal data and you are connected. i'm not watching 49.22 minutes of propaganda.

Just tried the code and it didn’t work. Any particular plan you need to use?
@@martypeck9950It works with Maker Plan Monthly subscription (not the annual one)

Glad you find my stuff useful Jason, thank you.
@@Dronebotworkshop Exactly happened to me, Thanks a lot.
my man ... your channel should be the official Arduino UA-cam channel 🖖♾

Good timing for my next project!
Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Thank you for your videos sir, amazing way to teach. Thanks for sharing your knowledge too, all best for you.
Hey Bill, thanks for all the work you put in on this channel and your website. I've learned quite a bit, you teach at a great pace and I always look forward to your next video!
Just what I was looking for. Your videos are always the best ones out there! Thanks Bill!
This is beyond amazing, it's the best tutorial out there.
Thank you.
The best arduino site!! Thanks!!!
That's kind of you to say, thank you!
Thanks for the great video,

Great Video! Any future update on handling sending/receiving images through the cloud?
great job but why not use fritzing for wiring connections on all videos ????
I was just researching this today. Sweet!
Is it possible to have colors set up in the Arduino dashboard so that a gauge will change colors at different intervals?
Thanks for the very helpful videos. It's a lot of work.

good day sir..is there a chance that can make a coin counter?using coin hopper, buttons, relay and arduino or esp32?
Thanks for your great videos❤
Yay! New video from Bill! :) I've been loving all the new IOT stuff available now. POE just became my new best friend.
Did I miss how you made the mobile app for your smartphone?
Great video. First time I had come across the Arduino IoT Cloud. Thanks!
Can you make a tutorial on the OV7670 camera module(non FIFO) there aren't many sources that explain about it in detail.
Thank you, Bill, for the great video.

Thank you for your awesome video, per usual!
Really amazing and sensible stuff. Thank you very much!😀😀
Hi
Great video
When an agent available for android?
Should be great for mobility
Very good! Thanks again for a very good tutorial. I will definitely think about some cool projects using this.
Re not being able to access my ESP32 , all was OK when I downloaded the CP21O2 driver
Awesome, as usual. Thank you.

Thats not fun, he is expaining the principles, so you can make whatever you want, yourselves.

Yep, I'm not going cloud. Nothing but blue skies for me.

Great presentation Bill! 👍
Is there anyway to attach a figma designed app interface to your project?
Really good introduction, thanks Bill
Another great tutorial!
I hope you will explain Blynk2.0, IFTTT and webhooks also.
Amazing content! Thank you!
I've always wanted to develop my own "Control & Monitor" systems built around an Arduino...

Hello Bill, hope all is well.
I was wondering what is the name of the song in the intro
Merci pour cette superbe vidéo 👍

First.

For micro's that don't have wifi you are correct but with them now having wifi connectivity, remote control and remote monitoring is possible.
@noweare1 yep, I connect them to my own network though, and not to someone else network (the cloud).
