I was there New Year's Eve 1977/78 - great beach party on Anjunta Beach. Banana fritters, dope, fireworks and free live music. I heard Pink Floyd were playing on the beach one year. Calangute beach was totally undeveloped and virtually deserted on Christmas day.
When I first arrived to Goa in '88 my Goan friends told me that you could still find in locals houses stage equipment left over from the Who & Eric Clapton shows.
@@Calebperis Thats my Goa. Actually the music playing is the wrong dekade. You have to play Stevie Miller Greatest Hits 74-77 and Police Reggata du Blanc sort of music. Dillinger -->"A knife a fork a bottle and acork thats the way you spell New York" I can still hear that Soundtrack. I can still see the fine girls dancing to it. I lived there a year in the late 70s to 80s. Once we walked all the way from Chapora to Kerim, north of Arambol. That was cool and chilled. We had to cross Chapora river with a small boat but from then on it was pure bliss. Nobody except me and a friend and some dope. Maybe one of the best times in my life.
1986 I was in Goa for the first time for one month. I was 25. We left our luggage with a farmer for a small fee. The first week we lived at Big Vagator Beach on the hillside in a hut made of palm leaves. I like to remember that time. At the flea market in Anjuna near the beach. The big beach Party at Anjuna beach. Dope, Chai, Danced half the night until sunrise and then off to the sea. You had to be careful going home at night that the local residents' dogs didn't try to bite your ass. A Crazy time, what a good time.

I am stil l alive. So thats that. But I know of quite a couple of fellas that arent. So thats that too. Life is life and some of us have a very short expiry date. Some also burn on both ends and while this gives a very bright light that candle wont last as long as the others.
