I forgot to listen to this song when it came out. Yesterday I got an Uber to work and the driver asked if I liked metal. I said yes and he started to play some. After the song he asked who my favorite band was. I said it’s too hard to choose just one and he asked me a good one then. I said underoath and he seemed confused. I went to answer a text and the driver said,”which is a good one, boy brushed red?” I said let go is song they’ve just released. So he proceeded to blast it! The first half of my shift the chorus kept getting stuck in my head despite only have heard the Simone once.
This to me is better than anything that was on voyeurism. And that's not to say that voyeurism was a bad album far from it but it just didn't resonate with me as much as erase me and dtgl. To be fair a lot of what held back voyeurism I think was production. This has me super excited for the next album so much energy that the last album seemed to be missing. Not to mention the songwriting was a huge step up and that synth part lets just say they are masters at knowing how to infuse it. Great review man i couldn't agree more with you.
I grew up with Underoath. Really think they're all super talented. That said, ever since they got back together, I hate all the new stuff. It's so bad.
@@davidpwolfe They are not kids anymore. People want Define era Underoath but the thing is they are not the same guys. New Underoath seems like the a more mature sound they were headed towards before they broke up.
Their new stuff is actually really awesome in my opinion. Underoath have always been changing their style. No artist wants to do the same stuff over and over again. Maybe listen to it a couple more times, it will start to grow on you.
I’m in the middle, new stuff is fine. I didn’t get into voyeurist like I had hoped. This new single, hits in all the right spots for me though. Great song.
What really helped get me into voyerist was the documentary they did on the making of it with the podcast they did with the guitarist from Emery. That deep dive helped me understand theses dude all walked away from the band and kinda lost the spark and it’s taken 2 records to try and get back to what they were, they even admit Erase Me wasn’t what they originally wanted to do and voyerist was them stripping all the bullshit and smashing all their beef and get back to basics. I think the first two new albums were a return to form. But this next one is gonna be top tier Underoath.
As usual Aaron giving us more that we deserve while working that 9-5 behind the kit.
Aaron is the 🐐!
Gives me define the great line or desperate times desperate measures vibes 🤘🏻🤘🏻
For sure!
Been waiting for this review. I love this song so much. It’s heavy, it’s catchy, it’s classic UO.
It's been stuck in my head all day!

That's such a cool story!
I’ve had this song on replay all day 🖤
I think the move from Fearless to MNRK was the right move

I agree 100%. DTGL awakened my musical taste/development, nothing from any band has really made me feel like that album did. But "Let Go" got close.
Great track!
It rips!

I get what you mean. It's definitely not like the old days for sure. I'm just happy that they're still making music.
