I have a yakima roof top cargo case 30 yr old. hinges even back then were a bit flimsy but they have not broke in the time frame. I don't use it week in, week out so perhaps that has allowed it to last 30 years. If you use your box for camping season, you might be surprised how long it will last...yet one still needs to exercise some caution opening/closing it.
also, put box on top so you can access things inside more easily, plus police may be able to see your tag, yet if stuff is in the basket, probably not...I do like the set up, yet price is a bit steep. I have taller yakima HD rack and use my cargo carrier on that and have more room in pickup portion of truck bed for my camping (don't have a tonneau cover). thanks for sharing.
When you mentioned Pelican, I went onto their website and they do have some new cargo boxes for trucks and they're nice. I already ordered a Yakima DeepSpace 10 that's going on my bed cross bars, but I do plan on getting the Pelican when they go back in stock January 2022.
I watched this for the review on the gear locker already having the swing base and upper mount on mine the mounting brackets for the upper deck can be positioned out farther so the tailgate can open without having to swing the top rack out of the way
Thank you for the review. I have a 1500 Limited with RamBoxes and when we go on trips, my wife packs like we’re going away for a year. We need more space and I haven’t been able to find a compatible bed rack system. This seems like it will work perfectly with the multifunction tailgate and RamBoxes. Also, not sure if you found out how to turn off the rear parking sensor, but if not and your TRX comes with buttons instead of toggles underneath the screen, there should be a button to turn off the rear parking sensor next to your Aux buttons on the bottom row. Thanks again.
I like my gear box, it works very well and i use the lights. It helps with storage tremendously. I would consider using the box on the top shelf to have better access.
Nice setup! You cannot see license plate on most vehicles towing trailers so I guess it’s up to individual LEOS whether they will hassle you or not. Wife and I are moving to Vermont from Maryland next month driving two cars. Both will have hitch mounted cargo carriers and license plates will probably not be visible.
Great video, have a TRX inbound, looking forward to seeing how you mount the ARB air compressor. I've seen it in the floor compartment behind the driver seat.
They sell a license plate and lite kit 159.00 and in sure the plastic box same quality as roof box they made lite weight to be able to haul more i just bought this complete system for my h3t alpha hummer
The gear locker is pretty standard for roof top cargo boxes which I assume what this is suppose to emulate. They are all made out of flimsy material. I suppose to keep the weight down.
Regular stand-up tent version. It is amazing and worth the price. Have camped in downpour rain and extremely dry. Lots of room (I put a stand-up table in it) and super easy to set-up and break down. Only downside is it is BIG and heavy.
This SwingBase swings to the right instead of to the left- look like this item won't work for SUV such as the Lexus GX 460 - back door swings to the right and the door could potentially hit the SwingBase arm every time the Lexus GX 460 back door is wing open.
Please ask someone how to pronounce tonneau. Also, with all the money you spent on all the Yakima stuff, you could have bought two ARE overland camper shells color matched to your truck.
Lol the bed door cant open? Isn't that the whole point? Yea you can take the top part off but what if you have a cargo box or the basket is filled. Good to know. Deal breaker for me. I could see me getting that just for the block for the license plate. Its $32 each way on the toll road by me. Might pay for itself
Very very awesome build. I love everything but I can’t stop looking at the Amazon basket lol
A very fair and honest review. Thanks for helping me decide on a cargo box

I just watched this and thought the EXO was super cool. Went and priced the set up you have and over $2000 that insane.
Thank you for the honest and quality review. Keep up the excellent videos.
Thanks for watching! ARB onboard air compressor review coming soon.
Thanks for posting this.. I was curious about the build quality
Nothing wrong with seeing a TRX with a view like that! Great looking truck. Great looking scenery. Love the videos. Keep them coming.
Thanks. I'll try to produce more videos. Hope to install my ARB air compressor and will post video on it. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the review. You just confirmed my decision to invest in this😂
Great and honest review! Appreciate it!

Any problems with heat from the exhaust warping the box? I’m worried my Jeep Trackhawk will melt the box on a long road-trip.

is yours a little uneven? I dropped the gearlocker onto the swingbase and noticed it being a little crooked. that sorta stuff really bothers me lol.
Where did you place the ARB air compressor? I really appreciate any help you can provide.
Solid review! Also, very very sick truck!!!

Great review! If I ended up with the basket top and bottom level would I be able to store full size luggage if so how many would you say?
License plates can legally be covered by racks in most places
Nice review and funny.
Any issues with the exhaust heat and the exo?
What’s the weight capacity of the basket? Can you strap a loaded cooler down on it?
I think you just saved me $1000
great truck, my big dream, but unfortunately I live in Poland and I can only dream and watch pictures. sad but true
Awesome!
Box looks like polycarbonate just like hard side luggage. How has it held up here almost 2 years later?
Looks nice. But you have lots of gear looks like you can keep all you have plus an overland bed rack there’s some really cool ones
Now that you had it for 2 yrs. How has it held up? Is it water proof?
Looking to buy one with the bike rack.
How do you like the Kodiak canvas tent? Is it the truck bed version?
Regular stand-up tent version. It is amazing and worth the price. Have camped in downpour rain and extremely dry. Lots of room (I put a stand-up table in it) and super easy to set-up and break down. Only downside is it is BIG and heavy.

Can you pls send a link where you buy that basket on top of your truck bed plssss

Hey man, do you notice it rattle or shaking? how stable is it with weight in the gearbox?
Can you lock the swing arm base into the open position? Thank you in advance
Can the gear locker fit into the gear warrior basket? Or is it too big?

Was your exhaust heat issue?
Id just buy a canopy. Or a trailer.
Thanks for watching! I'm considering an overlanding trailer. Good ones are pricey though.
My mans spent around 4k in storage for glamping, could've bought yourself a nice used camper. Just can't justify yakima pricing.
nah more like 2k and you can't buy a nice bike for that these days
