Thank you for the excellent video! Generally - do you need a degree or any tertiary study to become a business analyst? I notice official study is mainly post graduate. Would you say this is a role you potentially could grow into with experience and skill set?

Most BAs do not have a degree in business analysis, but grow into the role with experience and skill-based training. Be sure to check out our Quick Start to Success workshop for more info on starting a BA career: www.bridging-the-gap.com/quick

Hi I'm a Junior BA. I have a question - how long would be a normal timeframe until I can be a regular BA, and then maybe after that a senior BA?

Hi Cat, I've seen timeframes for those transitions range anywhere from 6 months to 20+ years. It really depends on your willingness to invest in yourself and your career and risk tolerance.
What's most important is to create a forward trajectory in your career. As a junior BA, that would likely put you in the "Official Business Analyst" stage on the BA Success Path. So your next step is likely to strengthen your foundational business analyst skills and ensure you have a strong BA skill set to grow from.

@@BridgingtheGapBA 20 years as a junior! I don't think that will be me! I am 18 months in with my BA journey, but it's good to know that I'm largely in control of time frames. Thanks!

@@BridgingtheGapBA I would say somewhere between Official BA and Proven BA.
Since I am working in a tool specific role (with a slightly different job title), haven't really got a chance to work on any specific methodology. But I am a work in progress!
