I found this channel through the UA-cam algorithm about a month or so after you guys revealed finding the trailer. It's insane how far you guys have come to restore this thing, especially in the last year. I can't wait to see what happens through the rest of 2024!
I was just watching Chips season 6 episode 15 and around 32 minutes. in they show a semi with a trailer that's similar to yours. The tractor is dark red and the trailer is white.🎉🎉
32:50 One suggestion to get the cross member installed is to use a Drywall and Panel Hoist... It will help lift the cross member in place and allow you to install it without much effort?
Are climbing bars like that a common thing on trucks and trailers? Or was that just the film crew saying "they need to get up there somehow, let's just add some decorative-looking metal that a stuntman might use, which just happens to be on this particular trailer"?
Very cool progress update video on the trailer. These progress videos are very interesting. I've been watching and following long before you found both the tractor and trailer.
On the show, you don't see where the side door is from the inside ? how will you create that???? I don't remember if on Knight Rider, have they even used the side door on the show ??
Good to see video's back, makes fans wonder what's been going on.... Its good to see some Important pieces come in... Was hoping to see updates on the sleeper or seeing it k forward to more videos kee0 ❤up the awesome work!!
Maybe it's worth it to bolt the brackets of the crossmember instead of welding it, to have access in case of the pullies have issues or break. Thanks for the updates!
Joe love these updated video's of the semi tractor and trailer. Is there any current update on the 1st GMC GENERAL ? And its where abouts ? Could you please ? Update that info on the next video ? Thanks. Enjoy watching these videos. Keep them coming.
I wasn't aware that a "night rider" was an actual historical thing: night rider: [noun] a member of a secret band who ride masked at night doing acts of violence for the purpose of punishing or terrorizing. I guess the punishment/justice aspect makes sense that way, though it seems a surprisingly negative phrase to play off of.
I take issue with the fact that the show was called Knight Rider, not Night Rider. Your terminology would have a point had the show been titled "Night Rider" instead of "Knight Rider." A Knight as a noun is defined as (in the Middle Ages) a man who served his sovereign or lord as a mounted soldier in armor. 2. (in the UK) a man awarded a nonhereditary title by the sovereign in recognition of merit or service and entitled to use the honorific “Sir” in front of his name. In actual context of the show's title, the Knight part of the title was the last name of the billionaire inventor who both saved Michael Long's life and produced both KARR (KITT's evil predecessor) and KITT. A rider is defined as someone utilizing a mode of transportation to relocate from one place to another.
Hey historians, heres a side question....do you know which car was used in the series amazing stories episode "remote control man"? Clearly not William Daniels voice though...
hey Joe, you’re in the “Knight ridera documentary” trensing now from “real deal tv” youtube channel. pub date 6 years ago and obviously much older based on yiur hair!!!
That beam for the pulley mechanism sure looks very heavy. Are you sure the Trailer (and the 6 bolts in total) can handle all that weight? ;) The trailer is looking more and more familiar! Which is a good thing :)
Joe did you do any interviews with David Hasselhoff and the others Other than that I enjoy the video every week via your post cannot wait to see the finish line on the trailer. ❤ John Reissiger KRH FAN
Very nice parts for the trailer rear end and now I finally understood the pulley mechanism for the ramp, well demostrated and explained. Cool to see those ads or maybe public service announcements? with Hasselhoff 🙂👍
Joe question ? The vechile that destroyed kitt in knight of the juggernaut ? Does that vechile still exist ? And if so where is it ? Where is the helicopter from the one knight rider episode merchant's of death i think the helicopter appeared in.
40 years as a professional driver and about 28 of those with a truck with a side door on the box from time to time. Always lock down those swinging doors. Let's just say I learned from the literal school of hard knocks in regards to a sudden gust of wind on a calm " oh I don't need to latch that door" day.
Federal law mandates a vehicle width to fit within a traffic lane of 12 feet wide, otherwise a special "oversized load" permit is required. A standard USA DOT compliant freight trailer is typically 8.5 feet wide. The width of a third generation F-body is 72.4 inches, not counting the side mirrors, leaving a difference of 29.6 inches. That's only 13.3 inches of space per side, assuming that KITT is perfectly aligned when entering or leaving the trailer. That's only a little more than a foot of space on either side. Probably not enough to (fully) open either vehicle door while the car is inside, unless you squeeze your way in and out.
You are correct. Putting my Trans AM in my trailer is a tight squeeze. I can open the doors, but barely squeeze in. I typically leave the window down and do a bit or Luke Duke into the car. This is probably a 96" wide trailer, keeping him legal in my earlier question@@houseofno
Did you know that the Knight Rider trailer appeared in episode 4 (Vegas Run) of Street Hawk? The ending of this episode was filmed on the Universal Studios Courthouse Square and the trailer is parked in the background. You can see the rear of the trailer when Jesse drives off… (45:51)
So good. I am loving the semi restoration vids. Each time there is progress it gets me excited. Great work again on re-creating these essential pieces that we need. Joe you are a legend!
It was quite comical to see David Hasselhoff talking to the kids about wearing seatbelts when in the show, I don’t think I ever saw them wear a seatbelt except for that stunt show episode
IIRC there were a couple of episodes early on in the season after the push for seat belt use started where KITT mentions activating the passive laser restraint system. Apparently that was the Knight Industries equivalent of the Star Trek inertial dampeners.
If the side trims went over the trailer's body, how were you able to find original show paint underneath? Were they installed after the trailer was already painted once?
Hey Joe how come you didn't alternate or put the partial wood panels of the interior up near the ceiling of the trailer it certainly would have looked better ?
Oh ! One more question how is the sleeper coming along is it nearing the end of being finished being fabriced. Is the semi tractor painted yet as well ? Looking forward to seeing another update video. I'm excited to seeing the tractor and trailer painted black and Gold liked they looked back in 1986. You are awesome ! Keep the videos coming. Knight Rider Rules forever !
34:13 - That's a great idea! (Just because I want to donate, but my physiotherapy during last year ate up my savings.) I'm OK now, and hoping that in the upcoming 6 months I can gather some money to send your way.
Larry Anderson who played Michael Long must have been slightly annoyed when the Pilot episode became such a big hit. Anyway it all worked out well in the end.
I remember these one to grow on during the NBC Saturday morning cartoons. Sheesh, you can tell the difference from Hoff's Season 2 mullet from Season 4😅
As always, I am impressed and yes, all this makes me happy! There is no doubt that the semi will be returned to its original shape and glory - with lots of "blood, sweat and tears" behind.

Thanks so much...glad you are here!
Woohoo!!! The Star bits!!! Talk about a pain in the chassis!! I can't find a mess load of mine 😂🤣
Oh man, that classic commercial brings me back. As a kid in the 80's you couldn't watch anything without at least a few of those playing per show
Thats real commercial kids should see. Have see the commercials/ads they show kids today watch nickelodeon or disney so woke.
I was just watching Chips season 6 episode 15 and around 32 minutes. in they show a semi with a trailer that's similar to yours. The tractor is dark red and the trailer is white.🎉🎉
Every time KRH uploads it makes me happy 😂
And we are happy you are watching!

Haven't seen anything from the channel in a bit. Always good to be hit with these updates.
Are climbing bars like that a common thing on trucks and trailers? Or was that just the film crew saying "they need to get up there somehow, let's just add some decorative-looking metal that a stuntman might use, which just happens to be on this particular trailer"?
It was made specifically for that one episode
Very cool progress update video on the trailer. These progress videos are very interesting. I've been watching and following long before you found both the tractor and trailer.
Love the updates. I'm turning 50 next week & just wondering if I'm going to see the finished semi in my life time
As long as you don't croak in the next 1-2 years, you will!
On the show, you don't see where the side door is from the inside ?
how will you create that???? I don't remember if on Knight Rider, have they even used the side door on the show ??

You might want to consider putting some dynamat on the inside of the metal walls and ceiling before you put your finished interior in place.
Can't remember if you mentioned it before, but does the portable TV witg the voicebox from season 2 still exist?
Joe love these updated video's of the semi tractor and trailer. Is there any current update on the 1st GMC GENERAL ? And its where abouts ? Could you please ? Update that info on the next video ? Thanks. Enjoy watching these videos. Keep them coming.
We have not found the first semi yet! Maybe one day!
Thanks for the retro commercial
I remember that commercial

A door is ajar....
No it's a door 🤣🤣🤣
Lo ethe ideo, and eager to see newonez.... woo
And in the movie Mad Max, one of the first characters shown is called the Night Rider.
24:40 I wouldn't put that bar back on. Takes away the nice crisp line
Is that climbing bar going to keep you within legal width limits? I'm guessing that trailer isn't a 102" being from the 70s
Yes the trailer is only around ninety four inches wide
Where will be the retractable dancer poles going to go Joe?
Great work with everything so far, only thing... I would NOT add the climbing bar... Takes away from the sleekness of the truck. Just my 2 cents.
It was on the trailer in 1986, it'll be on the trailer now!
Love your updates! KEEP THEM COMING! There are never too many 😍
Hey historians, heres a side question....do you know which car was used in the series amazing stories episode "remote control man"? Clearly not William Daniels voice though...
Like Christmas in March .
hey Joe, you’re in the “Knight ridera documentary” trensing now from “real deal tv” youtube channel. pub date 6 years ago and obviously much older based on yiur hair!!!
Just caught the trailer in an episode of Airwolf. It’s awesome having all this extra information that blows people minds…..
That beam for the pulley mechanism sure looks very heavy. Are you sure the Trailer (and the 6 bolts in total) can handle all that weight? ;) The trailer is looking more and more familiar! Which is a good thing :)

Couldn't imagine how hard this would be if you didn't have the actual trailer but were doing all this on replica.
Very nice parts for the trailer rear end and now I finally understood the pulley mechanism for the ramp, well demostrated and explained. Cool to see those ads or maybe public service announcements? with Hasselhoff 🙂👍
Thank you!!

Also make sure you raise your dolly legs after picking up your trailer.
Why add the climbing bar if it was basically just a safety addon for one episode?
12:22 How can anyone buckle up first, and THEN get into a car?
Wilton Knight dude lol, the founder of the organization.
that trailer doesn't actually look wide enough to get a car inside
It is...just barely!
@@KnightRiderHistoriansOfficial I can see why they used a stage set now for when they were filming inside the trailer
Federal law mandates a vehicle width to fit within a traffic lane of 12 feet wide, otherwise a special "oversized load" permit is required. 24:20 I would have left the bar off as it was only on for one episode....
Make sure to cover those tires if they are newer ones so not to sun rot them... trailer and cab ...
Did you know that the Knight Rider trailer appeared in episode 4 (Vegas Run) of Street Hawk? The ending of this episode was filmed on the Universal Studios Courthouse Square and the trailer is parked in the background. You can see the rear of the trailer when Jesse drives off… (45:51)
Yep we are aware - thank you!

New parts fabricated for the knight rider semi pulley crossmenber
Hello, that is a original remorque of kitt
It was quite comical to see David Hasselhoff talking to the kids about wearing seatbelts when in the show, I don’t think I ever saw them wear a seatbelt except for that stunt show episode

My favourite time of the week, keep it up guys, cant wait to see the semi finished 😊
Has anyone ask if there is a Kar still exists
Hey Joe how come you didn't alternate or put the partial wood panels of the interior up near the ceiling of the trailer it certainly would have looked better ?
They will all be covered by the metal panels
wooooo hooo happy to see some updates on the semi
temu is Spanish for eBay
19:10 too bad, I really hoped that flap would slap your face and it'd a be a great outtake! (sorry, I'm evil XD)

Awesome video!! Thanks Joe & AJ, for always bringing us wonderful content!!
I loved the "One to grow on" clips you put in. So cool, I remember them, so crazy, time flies!!
Larry Anderson who played Michael Long must have been slightly annoyed when the Pilot episode became such a big hit. Anyway it all worked out well in the end.

Very excited for the channel when ever I see your wonderful videos watching from South Africa
Love the attention to detail in re-creating the trailer as it was on the show
Thanks for the 2 retro commercial Joe
