I keep seeing people bitch and moan about the TVs, this patch just proved we don't need the tvs in main story. And we saw events will still have them, it's a Win/Win
But wasn’t the TV the way they showed how the siblings do the mission in the main story? Now they’ll just be appearing during cutscenes or open world moment just to move around or do nothing… Im not against less TV as long as when there is it’s the best part of the story
My biggest problem with the TV mode which is that it was so basic. The puzzles were so Bare Bones but they might as well not even be called the puzzles because they literally just require you to press a button. Janes chapter was my personal favorite because of how the perspective was on the agents instead of the MC's. I have yet to play Chapter 4 but I'm excited to see if the decision was correct or they should roll back.
Imo this patch was less fun just going back and forth between npcs, id way rather have TVs which I actually enjoy more more than combat a lot of the time. The combat gets boring and repetitive (especially when Nekomata is your only S rank) and they've shown that they can make the TVs fun and use them creatively for minigames and mechanics. I feel like the TV's are just gonna get replaced with talking to npcs and fetch quests for main story which I would consider a huge loss. Adding alternatives in hollow zero is cool but losing them in main story is a huge punch in the face. Not saying TVs are perfect but I found them very fun. This was the first hoyoverse game where I actually liked doing main and side content that wasn't combat related.
I liked this patch, and I'm pretty sure we all did, but I feel like the story this time around was more of a character story instead of a MAIN story. With TV's going bye bye there WON'T be any puzzles any more, you WON'T be navigating the agents you're working with as a proxy any more (so that form of emersion is gone), and there WON'T be plot points in the story similar to the Cunning Hares getting lost in the hollow or the train hijack scene any more. The story will pretty much devolve from being unique into being a unofficial Honkai impact 4. Believe it or not, there were people who liked those aspects of the game's story telling, it's just that we weren't very vocal compared to those who disliked it. With it gone the story telling is gonna be real similar to their other games where it's just go to point a-z, fight, talk a bit, boss fight, cool cutscene, chapter is done. Why you see people complaining about TV mode now is because those same people didn't have a reason to before this news. It was the people who had issues with the TVs that spoke up, and now that TV mode is being completely sidelined within the story it's now the reverse with people who liked TV mode speaking out and those who didn't like TV mode being satisfied.
i think completely removing tv mode from story mode is a bad idea, and i fear this would just make the game progress slowly into being just honkai impact 4, where its just gonna be the same repetitive combat stages slightly tweaked separated by lore dumps and exposition in visual novel style. tv mode at least is thematically coherent, since its what the siblings canonically look at while doing proxy work ( i think ), and it works better for lore as you would have to go out of your way to find secrets, instead of a character explaining everything bit by bit in dialogue that feels incoherent it makes sense for it to not be in this patch, as the mc would not have their proxy equipment in the outer ring, but it better not turn into the norm
I forgot to add this:
You can use fairy to collect your missed rewards on stages, but it'll take some time.
thanks for the in a nutshell video man, keep up the good work

It do be like that man

Nah I think the TV helps with the story telling. Going through the story now feels like something is missing with the pacing

Thanks for the useful video!

TV mode isn't so bad tbh. They should have just reduced it or make the process shorter, not remove it completely

Well said. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way!
I suppose we'll have to see exactly how they implement it going forward.
TVs are good for secondary modes in my opinion.
The gameplay is just way to ridiculously boring for me
