I have never done any "professional makeup", just the basic that I learned at a course, and I was able to do it with the materials I had on hand with your simplified explanation. I can’t help but feel like contouring our noses is a subconscious (or for some a conscious) attempt to make our beautifully blunt noses conform to European standards.
Not necessarily, because not all Europeans have small noses, and not all non-Europeans have blunt noses.

I'm a dark Afro-mix and was born with a keen nose. People need to stop trying to equate beauty, perfection and "thin" with white culture.

I'm european and I contour my nose. I contour my lips to make them appear bigger. I think you're being too paranoid. You dont need to limit your options because of some invented limitations.

Very nice, but confusing as hell. How in God's name did you all learn this. I can go to school for a year on this, and still will never know how. Too many concealers and this and that. Lord have mercy. But will not give up.

I went looking for nose contour videos because I used a filter that made my nose smaller and I liked how it looked. After watching about 5 different women contour their noses, I've changed my mind. So far, I have genuinely liked everyone's original nose better. This super pinched noses has a harsher look. It's not bad, but when their original nose is rounded, it makes there face have a harder edge that I don't personally prefer. Plus, damn, it seems like so much effort!

I love how you mentioned you're so very detailed I am the same way too you go girl it is hard being a woman of color in certain areas around a lot of Caucasian or Asian folks of different cultures or even Hispanic but I am mixed with black and Mexican and it is super hard....
because according to most people I don't fit in with One race and it's hard but there's one thing I have noticed to learn in my life growing up is to pay attention and listen to all details and it won't bother to stress out which gains more learning for me...
but in the end it's more worth it so I give you total props I love detailed oriented people who are knowing to know that it is knowledgeable and it is good to listen and watch and to be detailed oriented.

Although the European beauty standard is beautiful, black women shouldn't be trying to change their looks completely. Looks like this already look fake. Hair extensions thats not the texture of one's hair, Make contouring that changes the natural shape of the nose, and some wear make up that three shades lighter than their complexion. To me, that doesn't look good. If black women would grow their real hair out to whatever length it goee to, wear minimal makeup and makeup that enhances their beauty, ( not change it) they'd look beautiful.

I am sorry I am a guy and I have never used make up. I want to contur my nose. So do I hae to use a dark foundation and a contour product to smaller the nose? like both? Does it work if I dont use any make up on the rest of my face? Can I use an an brown eyeliner to contur?

You are already naturally beautiful. Sorry. You don’t need any makeup. I think you look cute natural. Don’t put on any coverup. It will take a little time to get use to seeing yourself without it. But you’ll see in about a week how beautiful your skin already is.
