@@rudro5784 I don't know for sure but I know that anything is possible. I would say from the side control dominant a head and arm choke might be easier
@@rudro5784 Damm that doesn't sound good are you looking into any jiu-jitsu classes UA-cam definitely helps alot as well but getting some nice rolling In even just a few times a week should help
This was fab. Thank you! I’ve been daft and entered my first comp at 6th Kyu…. I might have bitten off more than I can chew but I’ll learn lots from it!
So Ko soto is an outside attack with the opposite leg and o soto is an outside attack with the same leg? O soto = right leg on right leg or left on left Ko Soto = right leg on left leg or left on right Is that right? Cheers in advance
I am not convinced that this will work against an active opponent who also knows Judo. Also, you have already made so many videos, have you not noticed that you should start further back in the room, so you don't leave the frame in the end while actually throwing? :D
@@EWOKakaDOOM he clearly knows. He mostly refered to the throw as "Ko soto" and didn't say Gari or Gake. And he also said at the start of the video "ko soto gari or gake, either of those" I was only clarifying for the viewers that wanted to know what technique was Higashi doing. I also want to add that being a coral belt does mean a lot as you gotta spend lots lf time on Judo to get to that point, but that would mostly mean just good techniques. It doesn't matter how much time you have on Judo, you can still get some names mixed and you can still confuse two techniques. It's also worth mention how many Judo techniques are so, SO similar that in some angles you literally can't tell them apart, and there are other techniques that kinda look the same so the ones that can really tell what happened are the tori and the uke.
Been doing jiu-jitsu and your videos are helping me to improve when it's feet to floor. Thanks for your hard work.

In my opinion, Kosoto Gari was developed to be used in Kenka Yotsu. I use this stance and allow me to use any other technique.

i like uke's bow, it's a proper bow, not just a random nod
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Thank you.
I do bjj but shintaro senseis vids are a must for stand up! It's helped me so much
all of your videos are awesome, as are you, and everybody who participates in them.
Really helpfull stuff! Thank you alot!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge
excellent job. thanks
Awesome Sir.
Thank you
The weight change would also lead into a nice sasae tsurikomi ashi.
your mats look just like mine, Fumi tatami, 1 meter x 2 meter, red border with grey interior, nice
Great video! 🐐’s
4:15...I immediately mentally went with a Tai Otoshi.

So is this the same as the sticker?
So Ko soto is an outside attack with the opposite leg and o soto is an outside attack with the same leg?
O soto = right leg on right leg or left on left
Ko Soto = right leg on left leg or left on right

Why the far leg instead of the near leg?
must have been drinking the night before.

Maybe his mic can't pick up sound very well from a distance.
"I am not convinced that this will work against an active opponent who also knows Judo" how so?
1:57 what I came for
I'm pretty sure that you're doing a Kosoto Gake, but both techniques are just too similar haha.
He's a coral belt, I'd assume he knows what he's doing

Decide for yourself: "gake" means some kind of hooking, "gari" means sickling (the loaded foot), as in "O soto gari".
Guess Judo lessons don't pay very well. Where do I send haircut donation?
itd be cool if it didnt take you 3 mins to demonstrate the move first
That is the worse demonstration I have ever seen of Kosoto Gari
