It makes no sense to have someone with an exceptionally low strength be carrying around a large bow. One of the insane features of longbows is the incredible amount of strength that's required to draw the bow. I've read about how they literally used small boulders for weight lifting training to prepare men to be longbow archers, and how those archers were generally drawn from rural agricultural areas because life was physically harder and made for tougher soldiers, and how archers trained continually all their lives just as much as knights did. Our modern notions of archers being smaller and weaker fighters who compensate by staying at a distance couldn't be further from historical accuracy, where it was the archers and not the armored footmen in the front lines, who were the strongest warriors with the most training and experience.
@@patrickbarnes9874 interesting bit of information. I’m clearly not a historian or an expert archer myself. I just based my decisions upon the rules of the game, which also reflect the depictions of archers in much of the fiction (typically showing the archers in fantasy milieu as the smaller sneakier characters instead of the big hulking guys). Thanks for sharing your thoughts. So probably not true to life, but still true to the fictional situations that the game is reflecting.

Liking this so far. You didn't use instinct roll when you did the morale check. Low level thugs would probably roll when their friend is rolling around on the ground bleeding out. Where did you get the chapel terrain?
Yeah, instinct rolls are noted as optional if the GM is unsure of what the enemy would do, in that way they are similar to an old school “Reaction Roll”, available to use, but not mandatory if an answer presents itself. The church was actually a line of foam core buildings done by a company that also made Malifaux terrain…. The one in the video I believe is designed for WW2 games (all roofs come off to reveal a finished interior as well). Sorry, been about 10 years since I bought that piece so don’t remember the name of the company.
