You are an amazing person. I've binged watch most of your videos, and will continue watching all the rest of them. It's magical what you do with horses. I love your instruction, your clear and understandable for anyone learning how to handle and to teach horses. The respect you are given by each horse is just awesome. You have a gift, and it shows. I am totally facinated with your videos I have watched a bunch but trying to watch in order now so I can follow your progress with specific horse. Thanks jk
I really like the 6 year old Chestnut gelding he's got a good temperament and a nice build from what I can see and if was able to buy em, I would use him as a trail and Western pleasure horse
Connie Kempf I’m going to make a list of my top 10 soon 😁 I had my boss look at them too, and she’s been breeding warmbloods for 20 years now so she knows her stuff and what to look for as far as movement and build
@@SamVanFleet I look forward to seeing it! I envy you but yet I don't because that decision would be so hard! So interesting to hear the process you go through to pick a mustang. Thank You for posting it. Just watched your most recent Mustang Makeover. Love her. Something really special about her. Subscribed after seeing it.
We do! We have a brumby challange at equitana however not everyone can do it you have to be selected. I'm pretty sure it's the same for these ones as well
Also a big belly doesn't mean anything. I work at a warmblood breeding facility and we have so many round ones that aren't pregnant LOL. You can't really tell if one is pregnant unless you see their bag/know their cycle
I have been looking for a video just like this. Thank you! I watched over and over on that one that you said you thought may have a soundness issue...I could not see that. It would be cool to watch a video where you can lead us through some videos of horses with soundness issues that are apparent, and then bring us up (like training bad behaving mustangs) to where we can spot it. I know a lot of that is experience, but I think you could really help us out here

LOL but my fave is L16. I love her trot, the way she holds herself and you can tell she is thinking. She would be great at dressage. Then there is L101 with the heart on his butt, with a circle around his tail!
Wish you could do a video on conformation specifically on the others like 1,13, 19, 49, 133, 167 (or others but I'm curious what you think of 19 and 49. Judging by what you said in the video, you wouldn't get them but I'm still just curious as to other thoughts you would have on them. Especially 49.)
The video would of been hours long if I did too many of them haha! I loved #1- actually was in my top 10. My friend Craig got that one! 49 was OK, didn't make my top 40 list though. Jason Lancaster got that one. I'd have to re-watch that one's video, but I have in my notes that he crashed into the panel so probably not. Only because there's 193 options and the few that jump into the panels, even though the chance is small, may of gotten an injury and that's not a risk I want to take when there's so many other options
@@SamVanFleet Thanks for letting me know who got 49. Do you know if there is a way we will be able to see the mustang makeover show at the end of the 90 days? Like will if be on online or are we out of luck if we can't get to Texas?
I can't wait to see what you do! Always educational and fascinating, you definitely have a gift. Was #2673 a Grey you looked at? Thanks for sharing the link.
I adore chestnuts. My gorgeous Thoroughbred is a chestnut mare. She's built like a Quarter horse and as a result never races. She's got an indapendent spirit, but if you build a bond with her and work as a team instead of just telling her what to do and expecting obedience. Working with her is a constant conversation and I actually love that. She might argue with me occasionally, but she's not nasty. It takes a lot for her to threaten in any serious way.
Hey there! I had one from there. I’d say for gentling level, pretty average. Once they are gentle, the one that I had was very athletic! In a good way 😆
have done Equintana a few times (Australian mustang makeover basically) and every year I do the semi-local makeovers. and I always hope to get a taller, fuller build. I don’t really have a preference for gender, but I never get one under 15 hands. (I’m quite tall, so this is just what is ideal for me.) I prefer 5 year olds, but I have taken a six year old who did very well. I never pick injured ones for obvious reasons, and for me I think is very important for me to get a horse who carries himself well, and thinks before he acts. Thank you so much, you pointed out some things I don’t normally think about!
I took a look at the horses for no real reason, and #9572 from Green Mountain I really liked. I don’t know why, he has some flaws, it he seemed like the sort of horse you would want around. It’s too bad I live in Australia!
Hej Ida!
there's too many wild ones and theyre considered 'pests' by a lot of farmers and ranchers. Its usually the govt that rounds them up and they get them to homes rather then being killed by locals who want them gone.
Hi Ida. I just put whatever Christine said into google translate... totally incorrect information. They do NOT get sent in huge shipments to slaughter. That's so far from the truth. There isn't enough land and resources so they need to gather them every once in a while to keep the herd sizes within reason. From there, these horses go into holding facilities where they are really well taken care of and fed every single day. From there, they either are available for adoption, go to some program to help get them adopted, or go live in long term holding which is huge grass fields where they are still taken care of. As far as the gathers go, it's kind of like herding any other animal. They set up a big corral, and then slowly drive them into there, or, if they're all really suffering on the land, they put food and water in the corrals to have them come in because there isn't always enough food for them to scavenge which is another reason for some gatherings.
Very interesting ... I can’t wait to see which you choose . Btw, what program do you use to insert your phone screen and computer screen to your video?
I’d do anything to be able to be able to do the mustang make over, I got my wildie (I’m in Canada so we don’t really call them mustang) but omg I love his build and his temper definitely some awesome horses
I've trained a fair share of horses on my own before, a lot of them were flighty and completely untouchable but will now come trotting up to see you in the pasture, but most of them were quite domestic and level headed. I'd LOVE to work with a mustang, but I have never dealt with a horse who was truly wild before. I would never adopt one until I felt 110% confident in my abilities and I knew I was prepared to take on the training. What are your thoughts on this? What was it like training your first mustang?

I'm pretty much paying to train the horse. I'll never truly own her. But I keep about 1/2 of what she goes for in the auction, there is a small adoption fee that comes out though. So if she sells for 4200, I get 2000.

At one point in the video you mentioned a mustang named Evee. Did you do the Extreme Mustang Makeover with her in June 2018?
Yes
That's so cool!
Was that text to Camilles mustangs?
Do u keep the horse after
I won't be keeping her after the makeover
Wyoming puts out some good stock.
Just for FYI it doesn't read backwards
I think they should give all the horses a good home
I think in players choice, the cream of the herd is offered. The proceeds help fund other mustang programs?
Some of the mares look like they could be in foal, what happens if the one you get turns out to be pregnant?
None of the mares are in foal
Pickup is on my birthdayyy
First! Huh, never heard of bidding on your mustang😯.
It's for the Player's Choice format, a little different than an EMM!
The little bay mare at the start looked bred 😬

How do you get approved
Apply and meet the facility requirements
What does HMA stand for ?
Elizabeth Wall I think it is the place that the horses are living at
Herd Management Area (sorry thought I put that in the video!)
It’s where they were gathered from

"Red Roan" are people blind?
When they have a couple hundred or thousand horses to go through, sometimes colors get mixed up in the system. Mistakes happen
