Great video. Like all the others. I’ve learned so much from you that I’ve been able to pass along to my students. Have you ever thought about doing a walkthrough for layer effects in Fresco?
@@nonoesquire Thank you! That's nice to hear! I did cover some of that in my recent Fresco Layers video, but to be honest I don't know a lot about many of the effects because they all feel so specific to me. I'm not much of an effects person.
Very useful! I just watched a video of yours from a year ago, saying you were a new channel with only a few views. Now seeing this recent one you’ve really grown!! Very proud of your success, your videos are very helpful
I sat here and watched this like I haven't used photoshop for decades 🤣. But then I realized, hey, more watch time is always a good thing for channels, so I finished it anyway. Keep up the awesome tutorials!
Thanks Chris. This literally fills in the blanks for me on filling several areas of colour in a single action. I found myself lost a few times while watching you perform these tasks in the past. This makes it perfectly clear. I would also like to offer a suggestion. Is it possible for you to create videos of this nature using the overhead camera view, where we can view the actions of your hand and Apple Pencil? I believe it would simplify following your process in real time. Thanks again.
Another inspiring video! Is there a way to select & copy & paste several frames in Fresco? Like a walking sequence for example? I’m currently doing it one frame at a time, it’s it’s taking awhile? Could I export to Adobe Animate and do that there? Thanks so much for all your great videos!!
Thanks! Unfortunately that’s not possible, but I hope someday it is. I don’t think there will be an easy way to import fresco motion into animate because they both do things in a different way. Fresco is a drawing / painting app with motion features, meaning that the animation tools are just about continuous looping movements, whereas animation apps like Animate utilize a timeline and sequential with a start and end
Hi Chris, I love your videos! I wanted to ask you how to select the pink color on a vector layer. There don't seem to be any options for selecting contiguous areas or loading selections for vector layers!
I don’t think there’s an easy way unfortunately. You can sort of hack it by putting it in a group with another layer where you place a dot or something in a position that would move the overall center point. You’d then transform the group and then delete the extra layer.
thanks for this! i didnt know you could add or subtract from selections! my biggest gripe with fresco revolves around the transform tool though. if i resize anything at all, or even rotate, it pixelizes it really dramatically and doesnt seem to rasterize it proportionally to the adjustment. truly ruins everything i work on. have you encountered this as well, if so, how are you getting around this? its really hard to move to fresco because of this, for me personally

This is so helpful, Chris. I’ve learned way more than I have from Adobe’s official documentation.
So glad to hear!

This man’s tutorials are so helpful! You are seriously underrated
Glad you think so!
Thanks Chris. Always something new I pick up. More importantly--CONGRATS on 50k brotha!!!
Thanks so much!
Just found your channel, and I'm loving this, man. Super cool finding someone of your caliber starting out.
Thank you!

Oh thanks so much!
Came here to learn and ended up inspired to buy that same IDLES shirt. Such a dope band.
🙏
I really like learning more about Fresco. Thanks, Chris!
Glad to hear it!
yaaaayy!! you have 50k!!! i’m *soooo* happy for you!🎉
❤️
So helpful thank you so much Chris! 😇 it can be overwhelming as a semi beginner to learn all the tools and such. Subbed!

Thanks! Glad it helped. I used to do all my videos like that. I will try to incorporate more of that.
I really like your videos! Just got into animating as a hobby.
Thanks so much!
I love your content! Thanks to you I'm now using Fresco. I'm still new and was wondering if it's possible to edit nodes in Fresco?
Thanks so much! Unfortunately you can’t edit vector points unless you open the file in illustrator.
@@chris-piascik I appreciate you getting back to me! That helps a lot and will approach my work a little differently 🙌

Does fresco have a feather property for the lasso tool, you know, the thing that increases the softness of the edges of your selections in photoshop?
My pack with Retro Supply Co is available for Procreate in addition to Fresco/PS

Unfortunately there’s a lot of things you can do with pixel art that doesn’t really translate to vector art.
Thank you though!
ay way to changr the axis when rotatin?

Hmm, what size are your documents? It seems like maybe you may not have enough pixels for it to stay sharp.
@@chris-piascik 4k square or 2400px usually
@93strdst I’d recommend starting at, at least 4000px wide
thanks Chris ❤❤❤❤
Haven’t had time to watch you in a week or so. Been too long. May have gone through a bit of withdrawal. Nbd.
Haha glad to have you back 😆
🙏 Thank You
Man Idles are pretty sweet! Have you heard of Death From Above 1979?
Agreed! And I have!
how do make something blur like Gaussian Blur???
Unfortunately there isn’t a blur effect.
@@chris-piascik o ok thanks I love your work and is a recent fan who also an artist with ADHD who is transitioning from procreate to adobe fresco
New apple pencil looks great 🎉
And oled screen .. what you think about new devices?
Ordered both!
Bummer. It seems that you can’t simply cmd + click on the layer to select complex png images.
