in DMC5, Dante spent one month in a coma, woke up then fought for a whole day and still went toe to toe with hellfruit buffed Vergil. Dante is a beast.
A lot of people forget that the anime was meant to show the darker side of Dante’s personal life if you watch the anime and feel it’s boring you’ll begin to realize that Dante is Depressed and lonely and killing demons is the only fun he has in his life with everything bad that’s happened to him plus it helps you relate since your bored with some of the episodes without fights scenes in them your basically walking the life of Dante boring and depressing without a battle
Many people didn't really understand the point of this anime is quite surprising. I agree that the fight scenes is disappointing and could've been better considering its fuckin DMC anime made by madhouse, but this anime I feel ain't focused on Dante's SSS combat style but rather his coping with depression and every day life. Vergil's death, endless too easy boring jobs, deep knee in debts, no goals or aspirations, no family nor loved ones, and constantly getting in trouble thanks to his father legacy is serious problem even for The Legendary Devil Hunter. He ain't feeling stylish *WHEN* he depressed, he just gonna dispatch one lowly demon and get on to another boring demon doing exactly the same as the last time over and over. The anime want to show the lowest point in his life (cold, brooding, merciless, lonely) until the turning point when he meet Nero when he finally realized, he have a second chance for living with purpose and having someone related to protect. I enjoy this anime for what it is, and I hoped that with this little opinion of mine can share a little bit optimistic view that this anime done its job very well.
I remember the ending scenes. In episode one Dante starts with one empty bottle of gin by the doorstep he sleeps, by eleven he has about 10 of them littered around him. Nice details inno
@@TheHipisterDeer That bone chilling bloody face of a emotionless murderer he made right after he execute the "bishop" and shortly afterward started to relax and being playful throughout the fight and joking with Nero in the end is a masterpiece of storytelling. It subtle, but it's clear that this encounter with Nero changes him for the better. He finally stop moping for the past and start to looking forward to this random kid who reminded him so much of his late brother and himself somehow. For all shits and giggles they both throws at each other, Nero did save him from himself. And Dante probably realizing this, is why he so adamant about the idea of Nero and Vergil fighting as he didn't want his nephew to went through the suffering he went once.
@@TheHipisterDeer Nero truly brings the best of DMC storytelling, who knew that this guy from being disliked at the beginning can become such a great central character in the series. Raiden would get along well with this guy and Sparda would be proud of his grandson, that I have no doubt. And as for me, he rightfully earned the spot of the main character if Dante & Vergil had enough of it and want some retirement (doubt it happen), or until the devs said so. But we'll see.
Guys this is original DmC Dante meaning he is half Demon and Human not Nephilim. The amount of comments I read thinking this is the same DmC universe as the most recent game is nuts.
if you read the Bible the nephelim were half demon half human. Angels and demons are the same race demons are just fallen from God and embraced evil. Whereas Angels are still loyal to God the reboot got it wrong.
Quiksilver Doppelganger open to interpretation. Darksiders uses it as a definition of being half Angel and Demon. Also god is never mentioned in DMC's original canon neither are angels. So it's safe to assume only demons and humans exist in their world. In the reboot they tried to include angels and demons. But a lot of people in this comment section don't understand that. Also the Bible isn't the canon for this games story.
again guys nephelim are half human and half demon. if ninja theory would have done there research they would know. Angels and demons are the same race. can't be half Angel half demon.
+David Pagan-Brown I'm aware sir it's just a game. but I think realism to a degree is important. if you breed two of the same breed of dog you get the same breed. just common sense.
+David Pagan-Brown and darksiders is wrong as well. and the truth is never open for interpretation. it's already written and done. Genesis happened before we were even here. Sir.
This scene was so satisfying. If you don't know, this dude was talking the entire episode about how he was gonna kill Dante, and how easy it'd be to defeat him and such, like it was a foregone conclusion that he was going to win. His brother (the one with the black hair) was trying to protect him and they both believed he NEEDED protecting. Watching Dante whoop his punk ass without breaking a sweat was so extremely satisfying to watch. I like how Dante didn't need to rely on his healing factor as well, so they couldn't blame it on his bloodline, he was just a better swordsman.
@@StarshipMinglePRODS not this guy, but the heroine from the anime one. The one who call dante about birthday... Since on the anime dante says about thinking to going out with her if she ten years older (she's eight year old or more when dante says that).

It doesn't even surprise me that he got owned like that. In DMC1, before dying, Griffon mentions that Dante might have become stronger than Sparda was. This anime takes place after DMC1, so he's even stronger than that. So yeah, there's zero chances an apprentice of Sparda could be in Dante's league if Sparda himself isn't as strong as Dante.
Griffon says that, Then Mundus Mocks the idea when he says Dante can't put up much of fight without being in the demon world or having his father's power. Really it seemed more like Griffon was just giving you worthy praise
Dante isn't confirmed to be stronger than Sparda until DMC2, the final boss of which is a demon lord even stronger than Mundus, whom Sparda couldn't fight and had to seal away, but Dante flat-out kills.
@@a.dykeman1980 Argosax is stated to have been a rival of Mundus but didn't become Emperor untill after Sparda and Mundus big fight. Sparda lost most of his power sealing Mundus and the Underworld away, While the fight with Argosax was revelantly recent if Matier was around to see Sparda do so. if anything it points to Argosax being Weaker
@@rwg6357 Actually this is a rough synposis of the events surrounding Sparda and his battle with Argosax. Finding conflict in dealing with him, they [the people of vie de marli] called upon Sparda, who emerged and defeated Argosax before he was sealed away by the combined efforts of the swordsman and the protectors with the Arcana relics He could only defeat Argosax, not kill it, Argosax is a demon who subjugated almost all of the demon world according to the DMC history. In his sealed state while trying to regain his former self, he assimilated pieces of the bosses Dante defeated in 2 in order to reform his original body as "The Despair embodied" During the time where he was recovering from being sealed (short as it was) he was weaker than Mundas. However, it is implied that after returning to normal he was stronger. Argosax is noted in the legends of Vie De Marli to be an immortal entity which Sparda needed help in order to seal away, however. That's where it can be inferred that Dante has surpassed the power of Sparda, he didn't need help to seal Argosax, no. He killed Argosax, an entity which should have been immortal was slain. Of course granted, Sparda when he fought Argosax was weaker than when he had fought against Mundas, after all Argosax and Sparda had fought a couple hundred years ago if I'm reading this right, it was some time shortly after when Sparda had sealed Mundas away on Mallet island. So Sparda was not at his full strength, but he was still extremely powerful even by demon standards when he was in this weakened state, so it is possible then that if not surpassed, Dante at the very least is now on par with Sparda.
This anime had sooo much potential.. What it coulda been if they made a story out of the original lore. Throw in Vergil, Mundus, and some Sparda history and shit coulda gotten real. maybe a 20-30 episode long series nothing super crazy just short and sweet.
***** Uh, last time I checked, the DMC fanbase loves the series for how over-the-top it is. I can see fans of DmC complaining about over-the-topiness, but fuck them.
That will play like the Beowulf encounter. Something like: Baul: I found you, Dante! Now I will defeat you to become Sparda's successor. Vergil: Hmph... *move as fast as light and dismember Baul with his Yamato* Baul: You... You are not Dante... But how? You look... exactly like him and ... I felt Sparda's blood in you. Did Sparda... HAD TWO SONS?! *dies* Vergil: Scum.
one thing that always bothered me about this event was how the guy was fighting dante because he couldn't fight sparda. that's like saying "I can't pick a fight with this wolf, so instead i'll just go up against his son, this dragon." Dante is quite possibly the worst available choice one can make when looking for a candidate to take sparda's place in a sword fight for a variety of reasons, the largest being he's not even remotely similar to sparda, he's stronger and his sarcasm would steal the magic right from the fight. I'm sure sparda would fight with dignity, dante? he'd roflstomp you and mock you while he did it, why? BECAUSE HE'S DANTE!!!
+TheBrilliantAndAmazingGamer I would suggest Vergil because of how similar his personality is to Sparda (or so we can assume, considering that he's always trying to emulate his father), except Vergil's x1000 more ruthless than Dante and would end any fight instantaneously.. just like he did Beowulf in DMC3.
I think Dante would've honestly not let him die. He understands the loss of a brother and even showed sympathy for other demons (Griffon, Trish), so I think there at least would've been a segment where he would lax against this guy. Dante's not badass because he absolutely doesn't give a f**ck, he's badass because he's seen some sh*t and deals with it in his own way (usually by being a dork). Most of all, he ALWAYS gives an honorable demon a chance to survive if they take it. Here he's just straight up cruel. Am I missing something because that's pretty much how I've seen him throughout the games...
DkXboxer I think it's because he is his father's apprentice and Dante doesn't really like his father all too much and this is sorta like proving a point to his father. idk just speculating
I couldn't agree more with You, Dante has seen to give even complete dicks a chance at life, hell He did that through most of dmc4 ...altough none of them were smart enough to take it though. This right here, killing a non malicious (if somewhat battle thirsty) demon in front of his pacifist brother was just out of character for him, not to mention that He didn't even offer a chance.
DkXboxer think of it like the fight with his own brother Vergil he didn't really give him a chance either sure he tried to save him in the end but Vergil wouldn't allow it maybe if they could have sat down and talked their would have been no reason for them to fight but people like this have already decided on the path they want to walk in life and they won't stop no matter what Dante most likely saw him as one of these types much like his brother was and realized that no matter what he wouldn't stop so he just went on ahead and gave him what he wanted
mriddley Even if that were true Dante would not be cruel enough to kill one brother in front of the other, at least not so calously with licking his lips added to it.
Grimm, The Spiral Prince he's a demon Hunter....this is more like dmc2 Dante the one that got down to business. I think this is in that realm 2 cause dmc2 Dante is unbeatable
Well tbh... This Dante is less "woo-hoo"type of guy before Dmc4......He's having a phase after Killing his Brother vergil at mallet island... And probably cause he had a lot debts from lady and cause buisness stuff sort of
It’s kinda hilarious how the DMC fan base was one of the most united fanbases ever until the reboot came along and split it in half [maybe not half, but 78/22]
I don't see that happening unless Capcom fires the hack that just wants to throw his fanfic characters around in slow motion. Itsuno's had no less than four entries to expand upon the universe and all he's really done is throw a bunch of cliches in a blender while ignoring basic elements of the series lore (even as a child Dante had demon powers, Morrison being a white dude in the anime, Dante being a decent dude etc. etc.)
@@jeremyallen492 What are you even on about? Care to go into detail on how Itsuno throws in a "bunch of cliches" and "ignores basic elements of the series lore", most of which he created himself? Probably not, because you have no idea what you're talking about. Also, Itsuno has had 3 chances to expand on DMC, that's DMC3-DMC5. He was brought in WAY too late in DMC2 and that was just to fix the gameplay, not the already written story.
@@zffrailgun1630 oh puh lease, that hack wouldn't know world building if it kicked his ass. DmC 2 started the plot thread that the Rebellion was the physical manifestation of Dante's power. Instead having Super Cool Action Twat go through a vulnerable phase where his supah cooh action powers are unavailable in 5 the story treated its destruction as a minor inconvenience rather than a big problem given how he's up and running around not even minutes after Emo Heart Throb finds him. I'd go on but you shallow fanboys tend to get bent out of shape whenever people have the gall to point out how atrocious the storyline of the franchise has become. I just don't see how a series going from dark and grim to dumb and tone deaf can be seen as an improvement
@@jeremyallen492 *DMC2 Also, the problem is that you clearly have no idea what you're talking about hence why things don't make sense to you. Rebellion served as Dante's manifestation for his powers, but that's all it did. After Dante's awakening, he didn't need the Rebellion to use his abilities anymore, which is why Dante doesn't have any issues after Rebellion breaks, especially considering that he has the fucking Devil Sword Sparda, which you completely dismissed, plus the fact that Rebellion still exists after it is broken, it's just unusable as a sword, but that's still irrelevant. Even if Dante didn't have it, he'd still be perfectly fine. And to prove further that you have no idea what you're saying, the Yamato was also broken, and yet it still works even with some of its shards still missing, which also have power within them. So it's not that we're "shallow fanboys", it's that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, you completely gloss over simple stuff just so you could make an argument for yourself and all in all just want to blindly hate on the game. Get your ass out of this franchise if you don't like it. It's at its peak, clearly indicated by its sales and the fans overwhelmingly love it. The fact that you're the only one that has detected these "issues" most likely means that you are the only one that has them, therefore they aren't issues, and if you're implying that the millions of us that love the franchise and have learned the lore inside out are somehow so fucking stupid for not seeing what your smartass is, then sorry to break it to you, but you're delusional. Now, wanna have another go, smartass, or was that enough to put you to your place?
Don't know bout the rest of you guys, but I have a hard time watching this in Japanese. I played the games which were in english, with Reuben Langdon as dante. Can't see him as dante when he sounds like Sephiroth.
Dont get me wrong, I love Sephiroth's voice, but it makes Dante sound older and a bit sinister. If they made an anime or video game about Dante and Virgil's father, The Legendary Dark Knight Sparda, then Sephiroth's japanese voice actor would be perfect. I always pictured Sephiroth's voice coming out of sparda in the japanese edition of a game (if they ever made it) with Crispin Freeman as Sparda's voice in english....Damn it Capcom, give us a game about Sparda damn it! I mean Konami gave us a Castlevaina game about Dracula! Give us one about Sparda's war against Mundus!
darkservantofheaven Reuben Langdon IS Dante, so it's no surprise that it feels fucking weird to see Dante without his voice, just not the same awesomeness. DMC1,DMC2 and DmC Dante are meh.
I kinda wish the Japanese voice cast had at least been a little more carefree sounding with his voice...I just can't see it being anyone other than Reuben though. Maybe Johnny Yong Bosch, but then I'm starting to get a bit tired of his single-tone voice acting. But as Dante, I could see it.
pigboykool right? i know everyone complains that this show was "boring" because Dante was "overpowered" but honestly? at this stage in his life, he'd be pretty skilled and way more powerful than in DMC3. a demon--or a hoarde of them--is nothing. I guess they could've done the finale a bit differently, but overall it's a nice show to kick back and watch on a rainy day. I also would love to see them tie any future series to the Devil May Cry game lore a bit more. maybe bring in Sparda or show Vergil's side?
HighOnCaffeine1101 exactly. At this stage, he was even older than DMC 1 which means he is in his late 30s. Definitely not as old as DMC 2 and 5 which he seems to be around 50-55. Dante was weak in DMC 3 only. But that changed instantly when Vergil slayed him on top of the tower and he turned into a devil. Since then, Dante just grew more and more stronger which is why he is very well feared in DMC 4. More feared than Nero who has a devil arm in the wide open.
1:37 This reminds me of the scene after you defeat Vergil in the final battle of Dmc 3. Baul and Vergil both have slick back white hair and had two swords when they were fighting Dante
Dante has actually became stronger than Sparda at the end of the first game. This anime is after the first game. The poor guy had ABSOLUTELY no chance.
@@thecommentguy9380 pretty much yeah sparda single handedly defeated mundus and all of his minions and sealed them in the demon world and his sons dante and vergil are now stronger then him imagine those two just going and bullying mundus
Dante isn't always a jokester. Look at dmc3's manga. His life was shit for a while. He's really depressed on the inside for the entire anime, and as well dmc2 and the first bit of dmc4. Even in dmc5. And especially in the manga. Dante is just not truthful with that.
The action is the worst part of the anime, and for a Devil May Cry anime that just misses the entire point to me. With MADHouse behind it it should have been great, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand then Shin Itagaki (the director of Berserk 2016-2017) was brought on as director. The rest is history.
I can feel that. The show wasn't bad, bit everything was just too easy for him. Especially Abagail which was supposed to rival Sparda's power. It was too eSy. I would have loved to see DT. Even if he had just used it to intimidate some humans it would have been awesome
Screw Attack is the least reliable source of character statistics regardless. Dante would have won, but he's far from invincible. Or has this very anime not shown that he can be beaten?
One of the few series where going from an episodic show to having an overarcing plot actually hurt the show. The earlier parts of the series which was just Dante getting hired to deal with random monster of the week demons wasn't all that bad, but then they just had to go and do what they did with Sid...
More than anything I wanna see how Sparda and Eva met, got married, and had the twins. Make 1 season go all the way to where the house was attacked and Dante's and Vergil life changed. Season two should be them growing up leading into DMC 3. Season 3 should be Nero's back story where Vergil met Nero mother and why she gave him up. Nero growing up with his own woes. How he got his devil bring and him learning to use it before DMC 4.
Well remember back 90s and early 2000s. Most voice actor in video games don't return to roles. Back them voice actor come in do some voice lines and go and never hear of from again. It be cool come Drew come as Dante. I don't think Capcom would hire him again. Rueben other hand has long history with Capcom before DMC.
@Jovial Shadower No, I'm using examples of the 2 greatest beings Sparda fought. Compared to things Dante fought solely by the end of DMC 2 it does not hold up. Dante beat Mundus once. Then proceeded to kill a stronger version of Mundus after a demon sent him to a universe in which Sparda had failed. (Dmc 2 novel) Beat Chen the Cannibal, a warrior who though research and hunting down relics with his dna had actually become 70 percent Sparda (dmc 2 novel.) And beat Argosax with little trouble. (Dmc 2 game.)
Alucard came first (I think) but Dante was apprantly based on another character from a manga called Cobra. The color red is used because it represents heroes in Japan and I guess the guns might come from Alucard, in the end who cares since they are both badass characters and do well in both franchises. Imagine a game with alucard/Dracula/Vlad Tepes like devil may cry. One can dream...
Nathan Zadrozny so Baul then, personally I don’t see the resemblance, especially if you are exactly referring to Alucard. Same with Modeus only Dante ever fitted the bill for similarities.
They made them so weak cause they weren't part of the gaming franchise. They should have been strong as Virgil's son or Nero. This is really an insult to Sparda tbh making his apprentice so weak. 😔
It was unjust of Dante to kill the demon brothers without giving them a chance, however, one of them challenged him to a duel, and the other attacked him out of revenge. Dante should have subdued them instead of killing them, though.
@@blindphilosopher I mean, anime Dante is the same as post DMC1 Dante, but he was never forced to use his full power. Even the final boss of the anime can't do shit against Dante.
he's been waiting 2000 years to fight Sparda who asked him to wait for him in the devil realm that's why he's so pissed. Also he has a short fuse how he was able to wait that long is beyond me. If you've watched the series they're four devil kings vying to be the devil lord I'm surprised Lord Baul never took on them or he needed Sparda's blood powers for that.
It was a huge dissapointment. Almost never did he have to use his Rebellion because he was too busy one shotting everything. This is literally the only time in the whole series you see him get his hands dirty with that damn sword.
Electronicis well it takes place after DMC 1 so I think at this point he wasn't fighting tough enemies if you remember how that game ended. Also this anime leads to DMC 4. Games 1-4 plus this anime you can see changes in how Dante acts.
I've played DMC 1,3,4 and i must say 1 and 3 are the best 2 is shit and 4 not bad but this shitty reboot is really hard to accept i mean it is dangerous too hear "NEW" Dante say all the time "Fuck You" Thats not the real dante who makes jokes 😂 "Easy Fido you wanna go for a walk" = DMC 3 Dante vs Cerberus. The best idea is "To make a game called for example DMC The beginning" where we can learn something more about Sparda and Mundus and the relationship between Dante and Vergil's Mother this is my opinion and i even watched the hole Series dante is a bit underpowered in this Series
I think they want to fill some some on character. Like Vergil prioritise speed and efficiency Dante is about style and elegant Nero thinks that force and brutality is the only way.
They never said it doesn't exist. However they're hasn't been any angelic interference which would lead people to believe that. Heaven has to exist because the Fallen Angels from DMC3 have lore that states that they feel from a higher place.
@@xNephilimxXx Bayonetta and DMC aren't in the same universe anymore then DMC and Viewtiful Joe are in the same universe. The original creator just liked putting nods to his earlier work in his new stuff.
to be fair dante in this point in the series i dont believe was equal to sparda yet this is like a year after dmc1 so he stronger and still powerful but he only beat mundus thanks to his dads power and beat him again cause trish helped him so yea not equal to sparda give him another 3 or 4 years for 4 to roll around
It's more the potential in DMC1 and this anime I think. If Dante in 3 used force edge with both amulets he wouldn't be as powerful as when he did so in the first game because he had just "awoken" and was only growing in power from there. Therefore he couldn't defeat Mundus without force edge even in his 30's because he's like an rpg character and the power level can not make enough difference without a good weapon.
@@thelivingglitch307 true this dante I would say is about 3/4 quarters equal to sparda plus my own personal theory was mundus was stronger than sparda but sparda managed to get the upper hand some way and sealed him away
Actually according to the new timeline which places DMC 2 before 4, the anime is actually set during the same year as DMC2. In the prequel novel to DMC5 (set a couple months before) Dante visits Matier who mentions that it's been 10 years since DMC2. Also in DMC5, Patty turns 18 and she's 8 in the anime meaning 10 years have passed between the anime and DMC5, meaning the events of DMC2 and the anime happen within the same year. Makes sense as Dante is pretty similar personality wise
why is Dante so inmortal? I mean he kills lots of demons that are like him... why vergil, mundus or that guy died by rebellion or alastor when he is being impaled every game with it and without a scar? I dont have a problem with this. I love this in fact but Im just curious.
+Agustín Garcia I'll explain it to you, I'm very well versed with the lore of DMC. First off, I need to clear something up. Dante cannot be killed by Alastor/Rebellion. I also want to explain that Alastor and Rebellion are the same sword. It was originally Alastor, but changed in the later games. It the novelization it has always been referred to as Rebellion. Now then, Alastor/Rebellion is Dante's own 'Devil Arm' created from his Demonic essence. It is the physical manifestation of Dante's demonic power, just as Yamato is Vergil's. Dante can be harmed by Rebellion, to a degree, but it will never kill him. When Vergil stabbed Dante with Rebellion, it awakened him. The sword's cross guard expanded outward and the skull's eyes and mouth opened to signify that Dante and his sword have awakened. Next off, Dante is a half human, half Devil. His human mother is Eve and his Devil father is Sparda. Dante and Vergil both class as Devils. Devils are stronger than demons and very hard to kill. Even unawakened, Dante's durability is very high. In the opening to Mission 1 of DMC, Dante is impaled by several blades and doesn't even care. He's completely fine after taking them out. Why? Because he's a Devil. It's that simple. So yeah, that's why Dante's really hard to kill, he's a Devil. He also cannot be killed by Rebellion/Alastor because it's a part of him, just as much as his awesome silver hair.
+Enzan Takeshita thanks a lot! I was wondering how could he kill berial and others súper demons but yeah you explained very well! If the sons of Sparda had that huge power how will be Sparda's power?
+Enzan Takeshita so not to be rude but you're wrong about rebellion and alastor, for starters rebellion and alastor are not the same sword, you mentioned devil may cry three, if you played this game you would know dante has rebellion way before the events of devil may cry 1, plus to top it off dante finds alastor on the island so it wouldn't make sense for those weapons to be the same, now whether or not it's refered to in the novelization alastor is referred to as rebellion in i don't know, but by the way the game presents these two weapons they cannot be the same weapon By the way, in the viewtiful Joe series it's implied that blade master alastor is the spirit of the sword alastor in devil may cry, if you don't know about him the devil may cry wiki has a small page on him which may help clarify this issue

@@komi-samabeliever7319 Yep, and in DMC 5 it's Nero who basically brings the two brothers back again... That Dante isn't leaving Vergil alone anymore.

Finding conflict in dealing with him, they [the people of vie de marli] called upon Sparda, who emerged and defeated Argosax before he was sealed away by the combined efforts of the swordsman and the protectors with the Arcana relics
He could only defeat Argosax, not kill it, Argosax is a demon who subjugated almost all of the demon world according to the DMC history. In his sealed state while trying to regain his former self, he assimilated pieces of the bosses Dante defeated in 2 in order to reform his original body as "The Despair embodied"
During the time where he was recovering from being sealed (short as it was) he was weaker than Mundas.
I mean, if Dante could get stronger since then, then what's to say others couldn't?
This anime had sooo much potential.. What it coulda been if they made a story out of the original lore. Throw in Vergil, Mundus, and some Sparda history and shit coulda gotten real. maybe a 20-30 episode long series nothing super crazy just short and sweet.

To think Dante beat sparda’s apprentice without even using DT
Imagine if this was dmc 5 dante
one thing that always bothered me about this event was how the guy was fighting dante because he couldn't fight sparda.
that's like saying "I can't pick a fight with this wolf, so instead i'll just go up against his son, this dragon."
Dante is quite possibly the worst available choice one can make when looking for a candidate to take sparda's place in a sword fight for a variety of reasons, the largest being he's not even remotely similar to sparda, he's stronger and his sarcasm would steal the magic right from the fight.

Spardas apprentice: mega combo
Dante: SSSTTTIIINNNGGGEEERRR
Dont bother, this anime is not canon, he would let both of the brothers live in if it were the canon game. And we would get to play as them.
Dante's American voice was leagues better. Deep and intimidating doesn't really suit him

DMC refers to the (superior) original series.

It’s kinda hilarious how the DMC fan base was one of the most united fanbases ever until the reboot came along and split it in half [maybe not half, but 78/22]
Capcom need to introduce more Sparda's apprentices into the main game
they would make great bosses and also nice addition that expand Sparda's story
I could see that. Maybe them trying To mess with Dante and Vergil while they're in Hell at the base of the Qliphoth. Cool concept
@@jeremyallen492 *DMC2
Also, the problem is that you clearly have no idea what you're talking about hence why things don't make sense to you.
They weren't kidding when they said Dante had depression. The way he acts here only serves to prove that.
Don't know bout the rest of you guys, but I have a hard time watching this in Japanese. I played the games which were in english, with Reuben Langdon as dante. Can't see him as dante when he sounds like Sephiroth.
Personally, I like both voices, but what you're saying is understandable.
DMC1,DMC2 and DmC Dante are meh.
agreed.
Love this anime, they need to make a Season 2; the first Season was too short.
pigboykool right? i know everyone complains that this show was "boring" because Dante was "overpowered" but honestly? at this stage in his life, he'd be pretty skilled and way more powerful than in DMC3. a demon--or a hoarde of them--is nothing. I guess they could've done the finale a bit differently, but overall it's a nice show to kick back and watch on a rainy day.
I also would love to see them tie any future series to the Devil May Cry game lore a bit more. maybe bring in Sparda or show Vergil's side?
HighOnCaffeine1101 , yep, I would not mind to have more Sparda or Vegiel.
More feared than Nero who has a devil arm in the wide open.

he's been waiting 2000 years to fight Sparda who asked him to wait for him in the devil realm that's why he's so pissed. Also he has a short fuse how he was able to wait that long is beyond me. If you've watched the series they're four devil kings vying to be the devil lord I'm surprised Lord Baul never took on them or he needed Sparda's blood powers for that.
Is this Dmc anime
I have to say it was a moving moment when Modeus charged at Dante to honor his brother. The tear was proof of that.
The idea of Sparda having apprentices would've been fitting for a game in the series. Too bad they were wasted on this shitty anime.
+civilwarfare101 i mean it kind of is in the game...in the first ones i think
New Earth
They deserve better than a shitty episodic standalone.
Then come up with you're own shit let's see how fucken better you can
Dante sounds like Kira Yoshikage.
Because it same voice actor.
Hey where the hell is Reuben? He IS Dante.
That's him.
The best idea is "To make a game called for example DMC The beginning" where we can learn something more about Sparda and Mundus and the relationship between Dante and Vergil's Mother this is my opinion and i even watched the hole Series dante is a bit underpowered in this Series
what 4 had the best combat of all the games.
+Dante Vic No i think DMC 3 SE has the best combat fights 😆
I think they want to fill some some on character.
Like Vergil prioritise speed and efficiency
Dante is about style and elegant
Nero thinks that force and brutality is the only way.
Well, if you watch Vergil intro in DMC4SE, he really use everything he can with Yamato.
I mean you dont really have to accept it since its non canon. Unless you mean accept it as a game in the series?
If Dante don't use devil trigger ur basically a ez 1 hit kill
Half-demon, half-human. Capcom said heaven doesn't exist in the actual DMC universe.
So Bayonetta isn't Canon? Even though DMC and Bayonetta are in the same universe and share some minor characters?
They never said it doesn't exist. However they're hasn't been any angelic interference which would lead people to believe that. Heaven has to exist because the Fallen Angels from DMC3 have lore that states that they feel from a higher place.
@@xNephilimxXx Bayonetta and DMC aren't in the same universe anymore then DMC and Viewtiful Joe are in the same universe. The original creator just liked putting nods to his earlier work in his new stuff.
@@StylishRogue Except Heaven and Hell are actually one amd the same in the DMC universe.
This is truly based on DMC2 Dante, just look at him, bored as hell finishing off less than capable enemies with the bare minimum.
It's not, it's based clearly on DMC1 Dante.
Rebellion Op lol
Jordan Her Not against Urizen...
mini Wanton I know, i'm just updating.
is it me or every anime from past 20 years has the same voice actors
to be fair dante in this point in the series i dont believe was equal to sparda yet this is like a year after dmc1 so he stronger and still powerful but he only beat mundus thanks to his dads power and beat him again cause trish helped him so yea not equal to sparda give him another 3 or 4 years for 4 to roll around
@@jordan8086 Nah I disagree, didn't it take every Demon + Mundus just to take on Sparda? Afaik Mundus didn't want that problem.
今の時代にアニメ化してくれてたら魔神化とかアクションがかっこよかったんだろうなぁ
give us devil may cry 5 already
WarriorNero2114 Jackpot
7 months ago, how u feeling now?
You're welcome
ok
and they did.............and it was amazing :)
They should add this story as a DLC in DMC 5
why is Dante so inmortal? I mean he kills lots of demons that are like him... why vergil, mundus or that guy died by rebellion or alastor when he is being impaled every game with it and without a scar?
I dont have a problem with this. I love this in fact but Im just curious.
+ryu chin I know but why?
CrunchyNutCracker so bayonetta and DMC crossover CONFIRMED?
+Enzan Takeshita so not to be rude but you're wrong about rebellion and alastor, for starters rebellion and alastor are not the same sword, you mentioned devil may cry three, if you played this game you would know dante has rebellion way before the events of devil may cry 1, plus to top it off dante finds alastor on the island so it wouldn't make sense for those weapons to be the same, now whether or not it's refered to in the novelization alastor is referred to as rebellion in i don't know, but by the way the game presents these two weapons they cannot be the same weapon
By the way, in the viewtiful Joe series it's implied that blade master alastor is the spirit of the sword alastor in devil may cry, if you don't know about him the devil may cry wiki has a small page on him which may help clarify this issue
The Dante Japanese Voice Actor is same like Sephiroth Japanese Voice Actor. Its kinda cool.
