Great question. Yes, it turn out that the oil line o ring that seated on the thermostat was shot. It caused a slow leak so I replaced the thermostat and all of the o rings. Problem solved. I have another video that explains that replacement.
Yes, the 2012 - 2015 Mercedes ML350 Bluetec and the 4Matic models take coolant in the same way. Both vehicles use the same basic cooling system design, where the coolant is added to the coolant reservoir or expansion tank. It's important to use the correct type of coolant specified by Mercedes-Benz, typically a blue or pink Mercedes-approved coolant, to ensure optimal performance and prevent any damage to the engine or cooling system components. Always check the owner’s manual for specific instructions and coolant types. Hope this helps.
@@JuliusGanson-q5b mix the coolant and distilled water before you add it to the car’s reservoir. It should be half and half. 50/50 Some coolant will already be pre-diluted with water but it will say so on the bottle. “Ready to Use 50/50” If it doesn’t say that, the directions will probably tell you to mix the coolant with 50% distilled water.
Is your cap leaking? Why the residue?
Probably just residual from the last top off. Good sense of detail though.:)
Mine was got a new cap. No more residue.

Can you please tell me how many miles you can drive after the coolant level low (yellow) warning sign comes up ?
Thank you sir.
Why low to begin with? Slow leak somewhere ?
