great video! turns out, even "The Boring Stuff", as you've labeled the morphological description and naming history of the plant, isn't boring! i find it really great that you've included and shown the plant's ecological interactions with the ants and the butterfly. and those macro shots were really beautiful! i hope many videos like this one will follow and i hope your channel will blow up in no time. there are so many bad ai-generated videos getting all the traffic, that it is really hard to find the hidden gems like this one. greetings from Germany!

Hey greetings, I really enjoyed your video as well as the Beebalm video. You could try and do a video on Yellow Passionflower Passiflora lutea which is native to Texas. There's the Passionflower Bee Protandrena passiflorae, that only collects pollen from this flower to feed it's larvae. It's interesting because the bee itself is too small to successfully pollinate the plant so it's thought 3 or 4 other non-hyper specialist bees that are native are probably responsible for Yellow Passionflower's pollination. These are American Bumblebee Bombus pennsylvanicus, Southern Carpenter Bee Xylocopa micans , Metallic Epaulletted-Sweat Bee Augochloropsis metallica and Broad-footed Cellophane Bee Colletes latitarsis. Could probably find specimens of Yellow Passionflower near you with iNat if not familiar with it.

Wow thank you so much for the details thats super interesting! I went out and looked for the Yellow passionflower before I made this video but could only find its vine. I'll keep checking periodically for it to flower.

The flower in this video isn't Passiflora incarnata but Passiflora 'Incense' as evidenced by its brighter purple flowers and 5 rather than 3 lobed leaves. It is a cross between Passiflora incarnata and Passiflora cincinnata.

Thank you for informing me! I must have ID incorrectly with my book.

Of course. You're welcome! It's an easy mistake. Still a cool video regardless.
