yeah until now there's no other girlgroup who can win album daesang/grandprize in Golden Disk Award. Other girl group can win many daesang in other award show, but not GDA. That's just how special is GDA.
I felt exactly like you said here while I reacted to SNSD, I was sad I missed out on them for so long while they were at their peak but also super grateful to share my reactions to them because my SNSD journey was by far the best I ever started since I’m doing UA-cam. Never thought I would experience a comeback as a Sone either until last year, so don’t give up. Soshi & Sone are both worth it 💗
As an old sone, I know exactly how you feel, and some of the new sones I know feel the same way,Also I need to thanks for your reaction and support to snsd over the years, it has brought me much Happiness😄
I think this is missing SNSD Girls Go To School for variety shows in the beginning! The show follows them pre-debut and moving into there first dorm together! Also their second Korean studio album, Oh! (2010), won the Golden Disc award for Album of the Year (Disk Daesang) @11:37, making them the first and still the only female act to have won the Album Daesang. At the height of SNSD, they beat the even the boys groups! The fact that they won album of the year at the Golden Disc Awards and are still the only girl group to have done that says everything!
13:15 the best selling kpop album of 2010 was Bonamana by Super Junior. However, SNSD sold more total albums that year than anyone else, including repackaged versions. No other girl group has done that before or since.
For me, what makes SNSD the greatest is not how well they chart, how many awards they won or how many albums they sold. They are the greatest because they has long standing legacy as the inspiration and the role models for KPop girl groups. They are that one group everyone look up to and aspire to be. They went through every hardship, every crippling challenge and still came out on top and keep holding on. That painful period of black ocean, losing one of their member, dating scandals, long hiatus. SNSD pushed through and SONE witnessed everything. I'm a proud fan and am very glad to have them as key part of my life. I find it's so hard to stray even though there are so many girl groups now. SNSD is just different for me. I'll be SONE forever.
When I watch these videos again, I feel the diversity, perfection, and energy of Girls' Generation's music. Also, it's really wonderful that each member fully puts their own talents into music and further improves their skills with each other! A rare girl group that embodies 1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1>9!
For me,SNSD most remarkable achievementhad a big part paving the road for the Girls Group,They are the blueprint for new girl groups. A yr after their debut, in 2008 there were 4x more new groups. Thanks to SNSD and other amazing 2ndGen kpop groups, people and the media all over the world started to pay attention and invest more into the industry. New groups, companies, jobs were created. Lots of promising new talent are in the business today because they were inspired by SNSD. The girls' amazing experience made me feel so proud to be a SONE. Right now, tomorrow and forever Girls' Generation!💗 Thanks for your reaction❤

The boy group that's always there high-fiving and cheering them on is Super Junior their sibling group. Snsd was created to be thr female version of Super Junior and they were tagged team for just about everything back then. Even together they remain each other's biggest fan/supporter/cheerleader. Both group dominated the Kpop game and were either 1st or 2nd on charts. As you could see at 16:22 Super Junior 2nd while Snsd 1st for album. I highly recommend you checkout their Discography and other content. Most of what kpop and kidols are known for today stems from Super Junior and their wide range of talent/dominant in the k-world not just kpop.
You must react to Girls Generation - TTS (TaeTiSeo). Since the release of TTS, SM's unit groups have all taken the first letters of the members' names and started making them. + Taeyeon's ability doesn't make sense😂
I don't think debuting in the west was even a possibility or a thought back then. The main audience was really Korea. SNSD pushed the boundaries of what Kpop can be first with the Japanese releases until it was maybe possible to move to the West. And although they haven't been as successful there, they really paved the way and pushed the boundaries of Kpop.
Debuting in the USA was not an easy thing for a long time, to be honest the USA was not open much to the world at the time and kpop could've been considered as lame to the general public then just like manga... I believe they had a huge contribution to open that market on the long run tho. The biggest bgs that where the contreparts of SNSD and 2ne1 were Super Junior and big bang (u can see SM and YG basically even though other grps where famous). EXO are 3rd gen not 2nd gen they debut in 2012 and raised around 2013 or 2014 with growl b4 that they were called the first failure of SM but man they did prove those haters wrong.
Into The New World is not pre-released of their 1st Full Album 😅 Into The New World is in their 1st Single Album. They've been together since 2000. Trained together for 7 years before debuted. (Some are 6 years and Sunny for 5 years) They are together for all of their life.
Ty so much! I will absolutely join your Patreon if you cover SNSD extras! Soshi TamTam , Game Caterers, Concert performances! They did some fun covers on shows, especially Sketchbook. TTS Cater to You is a must see! ❤
SNSD and 2ne1 were really the ones who were competing with boy groups for the awards. Those boy groups being BigBang, Super Junior, Shinee to name a few.
This is actually a good video, but I wouldn't call it as the "History of Girls' Generation." From some comments that I read, despite coming from SM Entertainment SNSD had to perform on the street so that the public will know them, even asked a music show to let them perform, experienced the Black Ocean, encountered an accident and had to walk or run to the music show (it seems that if a group missed their performance then they will be banned for a duration).. although I'm not 100% sure if those info are accurate, I'd just say that the title "THE HISTORY OF GIRLS' GENERATION (2007-2017)" of the original video is incorrect. These girls are all hardworking, but IMO the most hardworking is Tiffany having both vocal nodules and scoliosis. 😅
That make sense, this video does not include the hardships and the bad stuff that SNSD had to endure and overcome throughout their career. This was more about their discography, awards and the concerts that they did.
SNSD DIDN'T "perform on the street" However their early 'promotional' performances were quite basic because they were new. Their first public performance of their debut song ITNW was at a Water-Park, as incidental entertainment for the park-goers, but that was recorded as part of a 'reality TV series' collaboration between SM and Mnet's established and popular "School of Rock" 'guerrilla concert' TV series, designed to introduce SNSD to the general public via TV as well as directly to the principal target demographic of K-Pop crazy high-schoolers. The series was called 'GIrls Go To School' and for seven weeks it followed their preparations for debut ( plus a week after debut) . While documenting their preparations ~ which was interesting enough ~ they were also given 'challenges' to complete in order to earn the chance to perform on 'School of Rock', proper. The SOR producers gave them an 'off-air' chance to perform after the main act, which was boy-band SS501 IIRC, but the girls had to create the performance on their own, so they put together a self-choreographed dance performance ( not shown on the broadcast SOR, but shown as part of GGTS) The immediate response from the schoolkids was positive, but the girls checked out the phone-camera uploads and comments on social media, and were concerned that they seemed to be regarded simply as a dance group. This is when they went to the SOR producers and asked for a chance to perform ITNW. The producer gave them a few days to prepare an audition, saw them perform ITNW in the practice room and, saying she was impressed, gave them an -on-air performance slot, following Super Junior as the principal act for the broadcast show. On the day of the performance it was hot and humid, and the air conditioning in the school auditorium wasn't working. After the SJ set was done, SNSD went on stage...but 'Boom' , the show's MC got the audience to participate in a prank...their response would be cold and indifferent, and after the performance he briefly pleaded with the schoolkids to show SOME enthusiasm for the sake of the show. The girls were initially perplexed at the poor reaction, and Boom's 'acting' but he quickly revealed the prank and the students then expressed their enthusiasm, allowing SNSD to perform ITNW with an honest response from the audience. The girls were already sweating from the first performance because the choreo is so energetic and constant and the AC wasn't working, but they did it all again with as much energy as the first time, with a great reaction. . As soon as they got off stage and exited the building, Jessica collapsed from dehydration ( her physiology never coped with heat very well). Anyway... after debut, SNSD did quite a lot of 'pop-up' performances, but these were part of both a marketing campaign by SM, and also part of the 'Cheer-up' campaign by the Korean Government to help Korea stay positive through the global recession of 2008-2009. Maybe this is where you get the impression that SNSD "performed on the street"
"was the equivalent of snsd at that time exo?" exo is popular but not even close. snsd's popularity was a phenomenon. one might argue it's super junior but i believe with the release of the boys snsd has long surpassed them. to put it into perspective, blackpink, objectively the biggest girl group right now is still being compared as second only to bts, but snsd has no one. no rivals. they were the TOP...
I believe their bond as 9 sisters still there but they can't show it to public, not yet. I don't know until when, maybe after SM disbanded? Lol. The punishment for Jessica is so harsh, it's beyond of anything. How they can manage to forbid Jessica's appearance in South Korea national network forever? Not even a single word of her name can appear in national tv.
I'm still shocked how that is possible like it's not just the kpop industry that can't mention her but almost the whole country?! SM is so powerful and scary...
@@OGzReacts Even though SNSD has already established their own group name, we have to remember that SNSD are still just an employee of a big company called SM Entertainment. There are clips that some of the members mentioning the word "9", but they have to immediately change their topic and I would only assume that the members signed a NDA contract, so even if the members like as Tiffany, Seohyun and Sooyoung are no longer with SM Ent, they can't still openly discuss what happened that day or mention anything about Jessica. It really caused a divide or mix opinion within the SNSD fans. 😢 SM Ent is really scary, they even blacklisted some other idols aside from Jessica. However, I think in general, big entertainment company, news and broadcasting stations have a lot of "power or influence" not only in S.Korea but in other countries as well. 😱
11:50 the first and only girl group to win this award, even now no girl group has broken this record

I'm so happy they managed to be successful in Japan because their japanese songs are so good and they have a lot.
My favorite song from SNSD is their Japanese song Indestructible.
the boy group is super junior they are also from SM they are like the big brothers for SNSD
super junior's bonamana was number one seller in 2010. that was their main rival
Man, you really need to do a few more catch up videos on SNSD MVs you're missing out on a lot of great songs just like you said :D
The boy group is Super Junior, they have a close relationship 🎉
That boy group is Super Junior from SM
