Great breath of fresh air seeing freckled fish slung over the gunwale! Glad to know they do still exist! That TT hunting is addictive. A few years back we got into it pretty hard. We found that we had greater success when we ditched the cork all together and just slung a freelined live shrimp just upcurrent of the floating object. Also, sometimes if there is one on a piece of debris/pylon/float, there are more down below. They basically just slip up in the water column after the one on top has been caught. We have done this and caught 2-3 at certain times. Man, I wanna slip out there and Geaux Huntin'!
Your videos just keep getting better and better. You need your own weekly tv show. I am sharing this one w my ms fishing buddies here is Guatier at Hercules fishing club.
What size, make, and model is Justin’s boat? I saw the decal in his boat for fishing charters. Is that Justin’s charter service? Besides the phone number, does he have a website?
"High and low tides are caused by the moon. The moon's gravitational pull generates something called the tidal force. The tidal force causes Earth-and its water-to bulge out on the side closest to the moon and the side farthest from the moon. These bulges of water are high tides. " from NOAA, scijinks.gov/tides/Your videos/youtube channel are the BEST. Keep it up. I was raised in New Orleans and have fished there since I was five. I hope to come home and fish again. There is nothing like New Orleans! WFR
@marshmanmasson the water looks calm but it seems further out than you usually go--would you have trusted your boat on this trip? I ask because I plan to buy at some point and from what I understand yours can go in very shallow water, and seems perfect for typical trout fishing in LA.
Me and my buddy seen you at the puglias booth this weekend tryed to stop and say hi but it was crouded. Ended up walking out of there buying a new bait caster and rod love your videos we plan on making a run out of lafitte on friday they have been catching 16 to 18 inch specks this past week cause of the water still being up
Do people down there ever get concerned about eating fish right after hurricanes? The reason I ask is because I live in NC and after the hurricane last year the water turned coffee brown and people said not to eat anything from the water because the floods washed a bunch of stuff into the water near the coast. Supposedly the added bacteria in the water gets into the fish and you would want to wait a month or so until they filter it out of their bodies.
I've been covering the outdoors down here for more than a quarter century, and I've never gotten any warnings from biologists about eating fish after a hurricane.
Great video Todd! I’ve got a question for you; does it help you out with your channel if I watch the advertisements all the way through instead of skipping them during your videos? I’ve always wondered how UA-cam calculates those type of things. I would like to be more than a speckled trout on your patreon page, but that’s all I can do right now. I was thinking maybe this would help you also. Keep up the great work!
What length rod and what type of real do you use on your popping cork. I’ve always been pro baitcaster but wanna try and make the switch for my popping cork rig
Enjoyed the video Todd! And I’ll be 100% honest I live in MS and I’ve had better encounters with people from MS than LA. Last time I was in Delacroix some guys pulled up pretty close to another boat. The boat that was there first had a guy and he probably a 6 year old kid with him. The guy in that boat had the voice of a drill sergeant. He started yelling and cursing the other guy out for 5 minutes straight. But I’m on my way to Grand Isle and I’ll be staying there a few days. I’ve never fished there before, but I’m hoping to catch some monster trout. Yesterday I went to Cat Island and caught a few trout. One of the trout I caught was a giant. It was around 8 pounds and 24 inches I believe. I was surprised since I got him on dead shrimp and a cork. I thought it was a red at first, because of the way it ran and since we just weren’t expecting a giant like that one.
I was using them in some 15 to 20 mile an HR gust in clear 4 ft flats and still catching trout and reds ... It was great they love that chartreuse and white!!
Always enjoy watching. Love the contests. Usually watch a couple of episodes while working out. Keep it up guys.

You're right; it's addictive. Great way to end a trout trip when the sun is high and temps are scorching.
Nice video, I got my first Triple Tail on Sunday it put up an epic fight.
They don't look like they'd fight as hard as they do, but they're quite sporty.

I definitely wouldn't have taken my boat out there.
I have got to get me a triple tail. Looks like a blast.
us ms guys are gentlemen until we are pushed to be other wise.

Would have liked to have met you.
I've been fishing inshore in NC, SC, FL, MS and LA. My experience has been that the most courteous fishermen are in MS.
Interesting. I wonder why that is. Shout out to the Magnolia State!
Very nice !! How was the algae situation there ? Did you eat those fish ? I want me some blackened speck!
Some algae in Lake Borgne, but no cyanobacteria. I ate them like the Cookie Monster eats Oreos.
Which pre rigged shrimp imitator has worked the best for you under a popping cork? Also thx for all of the advice and tips!
He will probably say the Voodoo shrimp

Those are on my bucket list as well.

Where can I find that TKO shrimp?
bit.ly/2JHyWDI or hhlure.com
Glad to see you back on the trout! I've had a hell of a time finding them here in Charleston SC this year.
Great show there. A few weeks back we caught a 5 foot gar on a vodou shrimp by the gulf
I have been fishing at cat island and got on a very easy limit👍
