I'm such a huge fan of the batch 011; tons of tropical fruits, big league chew, wax, citrus and a punch of peat smoke... for me, this is the pinnacle of Laphroaig. I wasn't the biggest fan of the 012 but I can't wait to get my hands on a 013 when its available! Awesome review as always, keep up the great work dummies!

I prefer it to Corryvrecken now. Scotty talking about Sherry... add 25% Laphroaig CS to 75% Glendronach 15, or any Glendronach for that matter. Let it marry for 6-8 weeks... BOOM!!! Bart thanks for the recommendation of the compass box peat monster. The peat monster to me is sweet with that band aid taste. But I love the Laphroaig. I enjoy the campfire, with smoked pork taste . I was a little disappointed with Ardbeg. Thanks Bart and Scott . Keep on Scotching it
Just saw and picked up batch 12 of this and an Oogie for $150 out the door. Batch 12 is a beast and delicious. Creamy, thick, pepper, bonfire, and ocean.
Hey dummies, this batch was my first taste of laphroaig 10 CS and I immediately wondered why they would water down the regular 10 so much...delicious stuff, I recently found a couple batch 9 hanging around the back of the shelf and think i prefer that one over the 11 but both very good stuff. Need to pickup a batch 12 sometime for science sake ;)

According to John Campbell, starting this year Laphroaig will be releasing two batches of it’s cask strength a year. Hopefully more people will be able to experience this incredible whisky.
Kudos to Laphroaig. Unlike Springbank and Macallan, it steers clear of this exclusivity BS. They are excellent, always available, though not cheap, the prices are cheaper compared to others.
I feel like I'm missing out on great whiskys by not being able to get past the Peat, I now know It's just me. Tried some Laphroaig just three days ago, just the regular 10, figuring after several sips I would get past the smoke.....nope, the smoke still overwhelmed the my palate, couldn't get any flavor past the peat, just peat, and lingering peat, with a peat finish jajaja. Boy I'm missing out on some great stuff!!!. I promise I'll keep on trying , I've been trying for several years now though. Thank's a lot Scott, you're doing just fine with your palate and you're nose is coming along, Bart, well I can only say "trust Bart", Thanks again guys!
It could be that the laphroaig is just too intense for your palate right now, laphroaig does have a very strong and unique taste. Have you tried any peated blends like Johnny walker green? or if sticking to single malts talisker 10 is more of a peppery meaty peat to me at least. Could also try some of the highland/speyside peats, I really enjoy balvenie week of peat, you get the typical sweeter malt of speyside with a more grassy less medicinal peat. long story short I would try different things and come back to the laphroaig another time if you're not currently enjoying it :)
@@erikguthrie8578 I've tried everything, even Johnnie Black and Teachers(the cheaper blends), thinking they just have a hint of smoke. If I taste Peat smoke ( or smoke for that matter, Ive tried High West Campfire) I just can't get past that smoke taste, it just lingers for me, can't get it out of my mouth. As I said, It's just me, thanks anyway.

The Laphroaig 10 cask strength was $65 by me before the tariffs hit. Best deal in scotch whisky! But then went up to $80 as the tariffs kicked in. Seems the tariffs have been lifted, but the price isn't coming back down. Sad! I did manage to squirrel one extra bottle of batch 11 at the pre-tariff pricing, as well as a Cardeas Triple Wood.

I happened to find this last week at one of my local stores as its mostly sold out everywhere and the batch 12 is mostly around (also delicious) So I was sippin on a Port Charlotte OLC:01 when I ran across your new vid here so just going to have to pour a dram while I watch. Bart how do you compare with Batch 12? Bart whats your favorite Peated drams?
Just picked this up since we hadn't reviewed one for awhile. Since picking this up, i've been looking for Batch 12 around and havne't seen it, so maybe it never made it here.
So much BS whisky out there. I'm guilty of looking for the most interesting bottle I can find and then seeing if it's well reviewed. Cairdeas is hit or miss but the 10 CS always rocks. And the price?!?!? Half of a 46% committee release?? Not really sure what else we're looking for.

Batch #10 was superb, Batch #11 excellent, Batch #12 very good. When you have the choice of the ten or the ten C.S., always take the cask strength.
