Tapa come from Indonesia region, and spread to Micronesia, Melanesia and Polynesia. Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti, Marquesas, Vanuatu, Fiji, Niue, Cook Island, Wallis & Futuna, Tuvalu, and Aotearoa/New Zealand. In Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia and Cocos Island, they evolved into 'Batik'. Tapa/Siapo or Masi are Austronesian tradition cloth.
