Dharma is like one word , but it has many implications and meaning . it has many different meaning individualistically , and the way it is used in the speech.
Dharma is like a decree, a law, a right way of living, a just way of living, it is also sometimes explained as your duty, such as your duty as a child, a parent, a citizen. Also Dharma is not that which you only preach, but it must be in your actions.
Such as if you are a teacher , then there is a dharma of teaching, and no matter what your students are , how bad they reciprocate, you still have a duty and the dharma you have to perform to i.e. to teach.
Krishna Said , " the unfairness of the life , doesn't give you the license to walk on the wrong side of the dharma."
Such as the world is unfair to us all, but that doesn't mean we can stray away from our dharma.
And Remember you don't do your Dharma because you feel sympathy , or you fear the repercussions, you do it instinctually , you do it as it is the right way to be.
Now you may ask What is the RIGHT path .
The right path is known to your conscience, a path that is known to your your innermost pure self.
Now what if you see adharma around yourself. if you ask your conscience and it tells that it is adharma?
Then you have to fight the adharma and defeat it. Fight here doesn't mean that in the literal sense only. Now remember that on the way to fight a adharma , you should be careful that you don't do a BIGGER Adharma on the way, cause that would again make you as the one that is adharmic.
You can understand this all from as an atheist or as Follower of different faith as it is more about the morality of one's nature and actions than about the faith or religion.
