  • We left Liard River Hot Springs on our journey north toward Dawson City, YT.
    We spotted bears, caribou, and porcupines along the 731 mile (1,177 km) drive. We stayed at beautiful spots along rivers and creeks, did some fun hikes, and tried beers from Yukon and Winterlong Breweries. Although we covered a lot of miles, we had a great time exploring the Yukon.
    Funny story...we wondered why there were electrical outlets all over the town. It seems like a great place for RVers, Actually, the outlets are to plug vehicles in during the winter, when it often reaches more than 40-degrees below zero, so they will start again before spring :-).

    As always an interesting travel video! I enjoy small breweries and usually always end up buying a few cases myself. Cheers

      Thanks for watching! Yes, pets can be challenging. But, we wouldn’t want to be without him. He’s a character 😆.

    The F250 has plenty of payload capacity for the beer 😂😂. You gotta get a fishing rod thanks for sharing.

      Exactly! Great minds think alike. We actually have two fly rods, a light tackle spinner and a medium tackle spinner. Got 5 rainbow trout for dinner the other night and a sockeye salmon.

      Thank you! We’re pretty new to all this. We started our channel for family and friends when we started our latest adventure last August. We just made more friends as we went 😆. We got our Oliver (Piccolino, Hull #1346) in February after having Airstreams for the previous five years. We hope you enjoy watching!

      @@HardAleeAdventures Cool! I just got mine in June (Hull #1405) and I'm learning the whole RV thing as well. Already been on a few trips. I travel with a Toy Poodle named Oreo. Do you guys groom Stormy yourselves while on the road? That poodle hair grows so fast!

      @@SteveHorne welcome to the Oliver family! We (really Kelly) does his grooming on the road. I (Jason) Dremel his nails instead of clipping them. It definitely takes a bit more work while on the road, but so worth it. Stormy is our first poodle and he certainly won’t be our last. They are great dogs! Then again, we kinda love all dogs 😉.

      Been there…didn’t love that 😆. We left our Oliver in Dawson City and used our rooftop tent, so not exactly lightproof. Our next video will show that adventure.

    We’re sure enjoying the journey with you! In August 2005 we flew into Fairbanks and took the train south for five days. It sure was weird having the sun up when we went to bed.
    What box are you using in your Oliver’s front basket? I haven’t found anything that fits that isn’t pretty flimsy. Yours looks pretty stout. Thanks!

    • @HardAleeAdventures
      @HardAleeAdventures  Рік тому +1

      Yes! The midnight sun took some getting used to.
      The box is just an Igloo cooler, but one with a hasp to pass a lock through. Honestly, I can’t remember the model. I took a tape measure to Walmart and grabbed the most robust version I could find that would fit. It’s thick for a storage box, since it’s a cooler, but works for our water hoses and power cord and such and has proven to be dust and waterproof.

    tooth problems are the worst. I have a tooth that the dentist simply replaced a filling. It felt fine, but he said it needed replaced. Since then it's been bothering me for over a year. It's sensitive to hot and cold and I find myself chewing on the other side. :(

      Such an annoyance. Every time it seems like it will be fixed, but then pops back up down the road. At least it’s better than it was back in Utah, so glass is half full? 😆
