BT2 - COADM in my opinion. Fuck Critics... COADM was awesome. I feel like if it all the hate wasn't there. I'd still be excited and waiting for his next tracks. At least he got ppl like Royce again but JID and maybe even J Cole could've been features by now. Critics got ppl like Logic and Cole taking a step back from rap because they don't criticize, they ridicule and think that's normal. They make 1 or a few tracks that isn't even that bad so their whole discography gets ignored.
@@h00dpssy3ater nah don’t get me wrong tho. I never said he fell off. I said he’s gotten better or at least more skilled and got cooked. I definitely expect some heat soon.
(Not sure how many ppl watch anime but) If Logic was an anime then he'd be Fairy tail. Everybody knows that it's good and over-hated but most haters come from idiots who can't move on. They keep up with news and always keep up with the latest projects just to see what they don't like about it and blog or comment hate on EVERY post. They deliberately lie about him and ignore what they like just to water it down and call his projects trash... but they still listen to it daily. NOTHING he does will impress them. Even if his next album is objectively the best hip hop album in the last 20 years he won't get respect. All they do is try to find flaws. He's doing it ON PURPOSE and they're saying it's unoriginal??? He used the same lines before so how is it a problem now?
"THOMAS: Get the upgrade? KAI: Nah, man. It’s the same shit with a different title! THALIA: That’s not true, Kai KAI: What the fuck?! THOMAS: Yeah, man". Skit in Fade Away have more sense right now. I really hate this new Rattpack, they want bad songs and when we finally have a good ones they just hate that for no reason.
Ive been a huge fan of his since 2013 but i feel like many ppl who are accusing his fans of turning on him are missing the real point. Ppl, myself included, are calling him unoriginal not because he flipped the sample, not because of his production, but instead because of his lackluster writing. He literally recycles the same surface level bars on every song about how he 1. Mentions how much money he has 2. States in the most boring literal way that he is gonna do what makes him happy despite the hate 3. Calls other rappers clones for all saying the same shit. (Even though thats exactly what hes doing) 4. Reiterate that he doesnt rap for money or grammys even though he flexes his money earlier in the same song 5. Tells us how much he loves his family and stays off his phone (we know…) This is practically the template for every single ultra 85 single thus far. So yes, from a writing standpoint, he has become extremely uninspired and unoriginal. Hes a very sound technical rapper with great production. But he needs to update the pen game. Not hate, constructive criticism
I mean, what more do you want him to talk about exactly? He's clearly done trying to be a political figure for people like he tried to do on Everybody. He's done trying to prove himself as a young starving artist like he did on Under Pressure. He has nothing left to add for his other aliases, Bobby Tarantino & Young Sinatra. Ever since he retired, he's been all about giving back to the community of hip Hop rather than just his fans and I think that's what's most important to him right now. Why is that a bad thing? Granted, a lot of the artists he's drawing inspiration from nowadays don't exactly have the best pen game in hip hop, such as madlib or j dilla. These guys are more known for their beats and production and sampling and chopping. Why do you think he made Vinyl Days? The point that I'm trying to make is that most of the Rat pack wants him to either sound exactly like he used to when he was younger which was 10 years ago or they want him to try something completely new and fresh which he has been doing since he's gotten out of retirement 😅 all these fans talking about what he's doing wrong instead of giving reasons of how he could improve as an artist. Face it, Logic cheated the industry and is now living a life he's always wanted to live, finally making music that has nothing to do with a label's demands or pressure from the mainstream, and you're just unhappy with it.
@@_misty.eyed. i mean i agree he will never be able to please everyone but im just pointing out that many of his core fans who are frustrated with his recent work feel like he has just run out of things to talk about. Hip hop is a genre built on stories and perspective and lyrics. When those things are missing or become repetitive the art loses its value. And personally i think logic could improve his pen game if he stopped focusing so much on himself and chose to use his passions outside of music to inspire his song writing. TITS was incredible because logic nerded out about space and sci fi while also looping in message about greater society. Everything logic has done since coadm has been so self-focused. And the listener ends up learning nothing about logic other than how upset he is with the rap game or how much money he makes from music or how much he needs to hype himself up to keep himself happy in the music game. Where is the art in that? He doesnt even have to get political if he doesnt want to. Why not write an album where the songs tell the story of kai and thomas in their search for paradise? That would be new and would display growth for logic in his career. And it would make sense with the actual album title and concept. I dont need a multimillionaire to tell me how rich he is or much he loves his family. Especially not through the most surface level lyrics with nothing deeper or interesting to really chew on. I already know logic had a come up and i already know he is a good man who loves his family. But i know nothing else about him or his interests these days anymore. The soul food comparison really doesn't work, different context cause we thought it was his last album and him rapping on pretty much the same beat was a really cool callback but also the writing was much much better.
