As a young African American, I was overjoyed when Barrack Obama was elected President. Because I never thought in my lifetime we as a nation would elect a Black person to lead us. Bernie mentions a lot of young people who have large student loan debts. Truth is, if he does make gov schools free, many more will benefit. There are many many people who don't go to college because they can't afford it and the loans seem frightening so they don't try. So not only will it help those that went to college, but those that still want to go and didn't. I am sure many older people will go if this happens.
I have an uncompleted bachelor degree i'd like to finish. Even the money from the military wasn't enough to cover costs and the high interest loans the university tried to sell me on would have had me in heavy debt for 20 years. Free college seems the logical step to get young people into great jobs instead of "whatever is available" and will help workers in industries that are closing get retraining for alternate work without hurting them financially. It might even change the way we educate when education is the goal and not how much the cost of the education will be.

You should be able to get a decent job after your free schooling and now more is needed. Our K-12 classes also are not keeping up w world market requirements. Also, labor jobs will slowly get automated so one will have to get more specialized jobs and that means trade schools.
Eric Cano A lot of us older people are still being crushed by our student debt. Bernie's economic advisor has talked about a proposal to completely abolish student loan debt. I'm not sure whether Bernie endorses that. But wouldn't it be wonderful if that really happened?

School district paid 75% of teachers grad work & 100% healthcare. PA was highly ranked like NY. Impossible today for kids to do this! WHY? Vote for Bernie! My dad died at 39,from cancer so my mother was a widow wi 4 kids, she'd never worked. VA hospital, no medical bills. We lived in small house, Philly suburb, supported by social security widow benefits & then mother finished h.s. & business school, got good job at a bank. We all got degree or trade. Social security benefits need to be increased! Vote for Bernie! Today both parents work & go broke trying to help children go to college & kids are saddled with debt - Vote for Bernie! Rest of dems are copycats! Don't be fooled, talk is cheap! Bernie's message has never changed. Vote for Bernie!
Bernie reminded me of how we played ball as kids. The two best players would take turns picking people until we had two teams. We would play for a while and if one team was too strong we would shuffle players to try and balance the teams. We kept score and everyone tried to play their best but at the end of the game we were all just happy to have played and enjoyed ourselves.
I had free college as well. We played ball at PS 10. The schools were open for recreational sports during the summer. We played softball, stickball, shuffelboard, basketball, and table tennis. The summer schools were supervised by teachers. I came from a poor family of 8 kids and loved growing up.
What mark says at the end is genius because most people get so jaded on their ideals that they give up on them and even push back against them when all it takes is someone showing us that it doesnt have to be that way.

I have an uncompleted bachelor degree i'd like to finish. Even the money from the military wasn't enough to cover costs and the high interest loans the university tried to sell me on would have had me in heavy debt for 20 years. Free college seems the logical step to get young people into great jobs instead of "whatever is available" and will help workers in industries that are closing get retraining for alternate work without hurting them financially. It might even change the way we educate when education is the goal and not how much the cost of the education will be.

Vile Crocodile exactly. Now a bachelors degree has the same value as a high school diploma used to have a few decades ago. You should be able to get a decent job after your free schooling and now more is needed. Our K-12 classes also are not keeping up w world market requirements. Also, labor jobs will slowly get automated so one will have to get more specialized jobs and that means trade schools.
Eric Cano A lot of us older people are still being crushed by our student debt. Bernie's economic advisor has talked about a proposal to completely abolish student loan debt. I'm not sure whether Bernie endorses that. But wouldn't it be wonderful if that really happened?

I know Bernie is right re cost of colleges back when...So why not now? .I graduated from a PA state university in 1967, tuition was $400 per year.! I paid my own way, p/t scholarship, & p/t waitress. School district paid 75% of teachers grad work & 100% healthcare. PA was highly ranked like NY. Impossible today for kids to do this! WHY?

My dad died at 39,from cancer so my mother was a widow wi 4 kids, she'd never worked. VA hospital, no medical bills. We lived in small house, Philly suburb, supported by social security widow benefits & then mother finished h.s. & business school, got good job at a bank. We all got degree or trade. Social security benefits need to be increased! Vote for Bernie!

The moment you realized Bernie is taller than The Hulk.
Bernie reminded me of how we played ball as kids. The two best players would take turns picking people until we had two teams. We would play for a while and if one team was too strong we would shuffle players to try and balance the teams. We kept score and everyone tried to play their best but at the end of the game we were all just happy to have played and enjoyed ourselves.

I had free college as well. We played ball at PS 10. The schools were open for recreational sports during the summer. We played softball, stickball, shuffelboard, basketball, and table tennis.
The summer schools were supervised by teachers.
I came from a poor family of 8 kids and loved growing up.
