I'm using NPK 4:18:38 is it good for vegetative growth. I use NPK : Epsom salt : calcium nitrate in the ratio 2:1:2.. Will I get the desired result?? The problem I'm facing is my plants go into flowering and fruiting stage very early without getting enough vegetative growth. What changes should I make so that I can delay fruiting and flowering stage till the time I've got enough vegetative growth. I also use sea weed extract and fulvic acid as a foiler spray every week.
As you can see 4:18:38 is high in phosphorus and especially potassium. You can try to reduce quantity of 4:18:38 in your vegetative stage and increase calcium nitrate just a little bit. For e.g , NPK:Epsom salt:Calcium Nitrate in ratio 1.25:1:2.5 but for right vegetative growth you can follow the formula i have mentioned in the video and later in fruiting/flowering potassium, Phosphorus, sulphur, etc can be increased which i will definitely post a video about.
Yes, I have already mentioned that this recipe is not any particular plant specific. It is best suited for Spinach and Lettuce but otherwise it will give satisfactory results and not the best results
Thank you very much for sharing and explaining vegetative growth hydroponic nutrients...could you please let us know what should be the nutrient receoe for tuber crops like Turmeric...I would like to grow in cocopeat in growbag
Sir, don't use 20:20:20. That's what i tried to explain in the video that nitrogen from ammoniacal/urea form is toxic to plants after a certain threshold. Sir, I just want to know one thing that why you are using more potassium than nitrogen concentration while growing leafy vegetables like lettuce. As for profuse vegetative growth, we require more nitrogen fertilizers than potassium. High concentration of potassium is usually applied for root growing crops like radish, carrot etc.
(1) It is more about Nitrogen to Potassium ratio than individual comparison. Here, N to K ratio is quite different than what you normally see for fruiting vegetables where nutrient recipes have higher Potassium values. Greens like spinach ,lettuce definitely require less potassium than fruiting crops but it doesn't mean potassium levels have to be low. They just need to be a bit lower than fruiting crops in an appropriate N to K ratio (2) Also, greens do require potassium to grow. It's important for enzyme activity and plays a role in cellular electoneutrality, photosynthesis and water& solute transportation. (3) Microgreens however can be grown with much more lower levels of Potassium, even with no potassium at all but it impacts yield
Most probably it happens when some nutrient has gone bad or Incompatible nutrients are mixed or pH is not correct. Never happened with me as far as chelated micronutrients are concerned Please send pics of all brands that you are using to make nutrient solution at 7206234611 Include every nutrient that you are using to make nutrient solution
Because enough iron is not supplied by micronutrient mix that's why we need more iron for plants. Calculating fertilizers in grams is a lengthy topic and needs some learning because one needs to learn about fertilizers and their composition and then convert accordingly
Urea is not for hydroponics. Ammoanical nitrogen needs to be very little. Nitrate nitrogen is best for hydroponics. Use fertilizers with nitrogen maximum in nitrate form
@@smgardener Stanes NUTRIFAST 40% NPK (5:15:20) + 5% MICRONUTRIENTS, it said it's okay for hydroponics,, how much Calcium nitrates and epsom salt shall i use, kindly tell me ratio
If you want to grow in soil then you don't neee to make nutrient solution. You may use major fertilizers that are usually used in agriculture. Those fertilizers are used periodically as per stage of plants. OR you can just grow organically using cow manure, vermicompost, etc Hydroponic nutrient solution is used in hydroponics in order to provide nutrients to plants because the media in hydroponics doesn't have any nutrients.

All the information I wanted for leafy greens. Superb. Thanks bro 🙏
Great stuff and many thanks for the video. May I know how you convert ppm to grams?
You can convert it if you know atomic weight/mass of a particular element in a fertilizer
NPK 20 20 20 use kar saktay hain?
Sir the links you have provided for nutrition are not available in amazon.
I've been using this recipe with moderate results. Please also share recommended tds levels for some popular plants.

How frequently we have to change the solution as the nutrient depletion would be there

Micronutrients has already iron included. So why extra iron is required and how do u measure in gram seperately??
Because enough iron is not supplied by micronutrient mix that's why we need more iron for plants. Calculating fertilizers in grams is a lengthy topic and needs some learning because one needs to learn about fertilizers and their composition and then convert accordingly

P-55
K-350 for fruiting stage
All values in ppm
