That last thing you said was some real shot bro. Too many gamers want the pretty girl, nice house, etc, but instead of working for it they blow off 8 hours a day playing gta
I don't play video games, I work my 9-5 and then draw on my free time maybe watch a show or two. I'm on my way to making 120k a year in cyber security, I'm thinking of starting an Amazon business buying property and getting rich.
I’m in hs and It’s crazy getting on right after school in the little free time I have before work and seeing the same grown ass men on wasting their time. As I get older I notice I start to lose interest in it because I only played video games to do stuff in that I couldn’t do in real life like driving. Once I was able to start making my own money u see that when you put the work in you can see real physical rewards that don’t disappear when the console turns off. You shouldn’t stop if you enjoy it but you shouldn’t put off priorities for it especially if it can’t translate to anything outside of it for example I found a dirt cheap wheel simulator and Learned to drive on it when I was 15 and now almost 18 and haven’t been in any dumbass accidents at my lack of driver skill which keeps my insurance low.
The biggest problem with video games, is that it gives you a false sense of accomplishment. Once you turn the game off, your life is still the same. Except for gaining weight and losing time 😂
Here’s perspective from someone who quit twice. I live a very simple life. I’m actually retired at 27. I travel around and do whatever I want when I want. I have a beautiful girl friend, and I prioritize my health and living for the fun of it. I don’t let my possessions control me like almost everyone else on the entire world. You wanna stop doing something you enjoy just so that you can make more money. Your time is more valuable. Money isn’t real. Earn the correct amount of money you need to do what you want and what truly makes you happy. Time and again it’s shown that rich people are way more unhappy than poor people who live a simple life. Life is simple by default. What I’ve learned is that quitting video games doesn’t actually do anything. Video games are just another form of entertainment. Just another hobby. Live your life how you want. The reason I quit the first time was because I felt like I was addicted to them. Which I was. But not as much as I thought. Actually what got me off of video games was just getting older. I got video games a second time because I wanted to see if I would have an issue with them again. At first, yeah. But I learned how to be patient with myself after I quit the first time. Sure enough, they started to just become a hobby. I would go a few days without playing. And sometimes I would binge on them. But I never stopped doing the real life things that made me happy. I say real life but… video games are real life. You have to buy real things and spend real time to do them right? I’d say the only reason to fully quit is if you literally can’t live without them and they consume your brain. If you don’t have a way to balance them, quit em. Just pretend like they don’t exist. Most people who quit video games really think they’re gonna be more productive. Then you get burnt out from being productive. You start being unproductive and fill that time you used to play video games with something else like watching tv. Solves nothing. If you can’t balance your hobbies, then life has no balance. Trust me, video games aren’t the issue. Live your life on your own terms. I’m planning on moving to Bali here pretty quick. That’s been my priority. You think video games would ever stop me? Hell no! I hate this “grindset” bs people talk about all the time on social media. Yall are the issue. Materialism is terrible. Greed is the real killer. Live simply. Nothing wrong with binging on a video game all day while it’s raining outside. Just chill 😎 there’s no prize in the end.
The thing is, nothing is wrong with Playing them as a hobby. But if its the main priority in your life then it's a problem. I see so many people wanting to be twitch streamers rather than find a job.....
