If enough Blue-Winged Warblers are there, their hybridization with Golden Winged Warblers can eventually cause the Golden-Winged species to disappear. At least that has been the conclusion of some studies.
By the way, I recall seeing a Golden Winged Warbler just one time. It was over thirty years ago in Dallas during the spring migration.. It was beautiful.
So awesome
Blackberry clumps ,who knew!
I am a College Student doing a study on the Golden-Winged Warbler is there anyone i can get in contact with regarding these reintroduction efforts?
Where is this located, and is there a hiking trail to walk through the area?

I live in Innsbrook. Glen Allen, VA. Private condo, no walking trails.
This Spring of 2022, I saw a male Golden -Winged Warbler in my wooded back yard. It came from the ground, like it was roosting. It landed in a tree and was there for a few minutes, then back to the ground. If I hadn’t been walking my dog, I would have watched longer. It was a total shock to see him. I was not aware that my place was not his habitat. I live in Glen Allen, VA.
