    I'm diagnosed ADHD. And it's amazing to me how often people self diagnose themselves with it. Not realizing that it's extremely more debilitating of a mental disorder then "woopsy I got distracted" or "I just can't sit still, I'm so adhd" lol. I got in an argument with someone about it one day, and told my brother in tears that sometimes I wish it was ASD instead. Because at least people would be more empathetic about my symptoms. Most don't realize that they share similar traits. Then my brain did an instant 180 and I felt bad for saying that and I drifted off into 3 other topics.

      @@AnotherQueer No I realize that, at the time I just thought that people tend to pass ADHD off as a simple character trait, and not an actual disorder that might be an obstacle. But realized after that it was insensitive for me to say that in the way that I did. I don't know the experiences that are faced with having autism so it be rude for me to assume anything about it.

    • @ridiculousrandy1401
      @ridiculousrandy1401 9 місяців тому

      @@teetrea2688I think it's because of the pure lack of education and respect in general. It's a spectrum of "abnormalness," not just autistic or not. I'm on the spectrum myself, but I personally know people way worse off than I am. And I say worse off, because they are. They communicate even less than I do, and learning new concepts is genuinely a struggle.
      This reminds me of being in high-school with my gf at the time. SHe wasn't exactly the smartest in school. She had a learning disability and was also dyslexic. And yet for some reason, my first response for a long time was to make fun of her. It was cruel and unwarranted. I wish I could find her again and attempt to make things right. But I also wish things would be made right for the way myself was treated. We need more understanding, and less division.

    I wanna say, I hate the TikTok trend of being "I'm mentally ill, look at me, I'm so quirky!" I don't have autism (I have schizoaffective disorder), but it offends me all the same, to use a real thing myself and others suffer from as a crutch to uphold their vapid personality.

      @RyeDun Рік тому +7

      There’s a huge difference between bringing awareness to a disorder you have eg: “look at me”, and fully faking a disorder for attention. The people who fake are still ill, just not with why they claim

    • @ZERONETWORK0
      @ZERONETWORK0 Рік тому +17

      @@RyeDun I'm perfectly ok with people highlighting their disability for the benefit of others with disabilities. That's admirable. I'm only referring to people, whether they have it or not, using a disability as a crutch or to promote themselves, or malingerers. In everyday life I don't even mention a condition I have, it was difficult to even admit to myself I had a disability for years after I'd been diagnosed. So to see it become a trend is also disheartening.

    • @xzlenn9868
      @xzlenn9868 Рік тому +5

      as some who is autistic, i agree with you. bringing awareness to things is one thing, and i’m glad there are spaces online where others can feel seen and express experiences that individuals may think they’re going through alone. however, people using disabilities, and mental illness for clout or to excuse horrible actions just increases the negative stereotypes around those things for people who may not know much about the issue. sadly though, people love to give said people attention whether positive or negative, which is what boosts this content and then opens doors for people to make judgements on communities based on a handful of peoples’ actions.

    I've had a period in my life where I've struggled caring for myself due to a mix of poor mental health and severe body dysmorphia. I can 100% understand not showering for weeks to avoid having to interact with a body you absolutely hate having. That being said, while I still do struggle with body dysmorphia, the discomfort I feel interacting with my body is a small price to pay for the amazing feeling of being clean after a nice hot shower.
    Self-care is extremely important, regardless of circumstance. "Just don't look down" isn't really the best advice, but it's so very true that you will feel so much better if you actually take care of yourself and the space you occupy where and when you can.

The board of directors are trying to throw it under the rug and they never told the parents. Its been on the news but Ik you can get the word out there better. Look into it so you can get the full story, Thankyou.

    tbh the shower thing is understandable, sometimes looking at your own body makes you feel so disgusting and wrong and upset it leads to extreme reactions (Self harm, attempting suicide, plus more) and for a lot of people it's easier to simply not shower - i'm not blaming her there, plus the dysphoria can lead to depression where its hard to keep up general hygiene whatsoever, so tbh that part is understandable and I think she needs to have proper help with her gender issues and compulsive lying

    As somebody whos dealt with severe depression + trauma that caused me to not take care of myself properly, and a trans man(ftm):
    Personally, I felt ashamed (and still do) that I couldn't do self hygiene (and I still struggle with it). I hope that she can learn to live with her body, but the way she was talking about it came off as more bragging. Not saying she was ofc, but yk. Also, I get not liking things bc of dysphoria! I hate my chest, and I'd prefer if it was smaller, but yea. As long as your atleast wiping your pits/using deodorant and changing your clothes at least every other couple days, you shouldn't smell too bad. No shame if you can't bathe for personal reasons! But with everything else she's done/said, it seems more like smth she randomly said for clout... i hope she's able to transition both physically, and mentally to a better place. I hope she sees what she did wrong and she can become a better person!!!
    Also: Tara is hilarious and badass!!! Everybody loves her :3
