She sounds better with the trailer behind her. Boy this makes me homesick. I sure do miss them Mack plex transmissions. Being retired now, I know I'll never drive one again, but if I did get the chance, I wouldn't turn it down.
Great video. It's impressive to see the skills and coordination displayed in shifting. I don't think any modern day video game jockey or smartphone user has the eye, hand and foot coordination to compare with that of your dad. That's real thinking skill! I believe people today are not smarter than people of the past, just better adapted to take advantage of the conveniences and advances of the the times we live in.
Love twin stick pappy! I’ve watched these videos of him hundreds of times, these Jamaicans think they’re hot stuff cause they can float shift an 18 speed real fast, but pappy could teach them a few things!
Both of your videos of the old Mack are some of the best shifting I've ever seen. That's real experience. Just out of curiosity, is this you, a relative or a friend that's driving?
thanks for posting the vid, i was looking thru the twin stick driving as in britain there is none of this. i was watching them drive the truck, and i could not understand why the left the main stick in gear, waited for the truck to slow down, so that the timing was right, then rev up a small amount so then the could get the power from the engine in a lower gear. i see that you take out the main stick at that same time as the 3 geared stick, which means you can change gear much faster. thanks.
@13maley Sorry guy, but it's not a two stroke older Detroit in this truck, I've driven two sticks just like this guy, they're fun and I wish those setups were still around !! This "automatic computerized s**t" they have today is a joke !! I mean they have the VORAD system that will AUTOMATICALLY apply the f***g brakes (how'd you like to have that happen on a snow covered road ?) and no clutch pedal (they engage by centrifugal force) and the transmission shifts itself !! It's a joke !
Great Video. At first glance i thought the tractor was a WD45 but I'm a Farmall guy. Those AC's were great tractors.
Amazing skill to be able to shift an non synchro with only a few cluth operations. A really nice truck. thanks for posting!

Great Looking Rig, Nice Allis Chalmers too,Makes Me miss the Road.
that's a true truck driver there. he didn't even grind it once!
great to watch! I noticed you have no problem having both sticks in neutral at the same time, no 'double nothing' problem!
Like a hot knife through butter!!!!!!!! Best shifting ever!!!!!
That some fine shiftin there. The tractor on back is an Allis Chalmers WC Speed Patrol,

Nice video love them Tractors !
Hi nice job and nice Ac !!!!
Allis Chalmers W-Speed Patrol. Rare to have the hand cranks to raise and lower the blade. Most where converted to hydraulic.
Better shifting then i could even think about doing....
nice truck!!
now that a good peace of USA history

Great videos well filmed. What kind of AC was on the trailer I have never saw one like it.
