Like, the taunts are all pretty damn solid, but why on Earth does Rex not flinch when they get hit during it??? Them feeling each other's pain is literally a core story element of Xenoblade 2!

I mean sure, they at least kept the "Come on!" part of that one, but completely replacing the other with "Sonic speed!" was a huge mistake. I legitimately cringe every time I hear it. Literally one of the first mods I installed was fixing that taunt's dialogue.

It would’ve been so cool and unique if for Joker’s down taunt specifically (the one where Joker turns away from the camera with his gun in his hand and poses), it could cycle through each member of the Phantom Thieves in order of joining the party to pose with Joker. The first time the button is pressed can be with Morgana as usual, the next time it can be with Ryuji, the third can be with Ann, the fourth can be with Yusuke, the fifth can be with Makoto, the sixth can be with Futaba (outside the final smash), the seventh can be with Haru, the eighth can be with Akechi while Joker looks back angrily and finally the ninth time can be Joker posing with Sumire while smiling back at her and then the cycle loops back to Morgana the next time the down taunt button is pressed. Plus it can be a reference to the confidant menu in P5 where Joker is looking back at the confidant in the menu screen.
i think it would be cool if we could also add thoses from personna 5 side game, like sophie, that father guy and the one from tacticta but idk if thoses games were made by the time joker was in smash
@@threeworldheroes The addition of Sophia, Zenkichi and Erina would be nice, but those characters were made well after Joker was in Smash so it’s up in the air on the possibility. Though to be fair, my idea proposing Sumi would be a stretch since Royal was merely teased when Joker was officially released as a DLC fighter. Though also to be fair we did get a Sophia Spirit later down the line with Strikers on Switch so it wouldn’t shock me if they updated Joker to include the spin off characters too.
Still sad that we never got to hear Roger's iteration of "You're too slow" and "Come on, step it up". Some of the most toxic taunts in Brawl, and then they removed the in Sm4sh, as well as a lot of personality from Sonic. Hope those two taunts return in Smash 6.
Giving Daisy the spicy ass taunt was bar none the best one: made her look badass AND adorable at the same time. I especially loved the little detail where she has to fan her hand because she burned herself ON HERSELF. THAT'S classy, I love it.
Personally feel like Futaba should have gotten at least a voice line in one of Joker's taunts. I get that she's the navigator, but the fact that she isnt on Mementos AND she has to share half of the Final Smash voice clips with Morgana, who is already all over the place... yeah.
She's also pretty much Joker's sister, so her not having a line is kinda criminal, despite the fact he didn't even know about her until halfway through Persona 5.
The least that could’ve happened was on occasion, Futaba’s UFO Persona could’ve been seen floating in the background of the Mementos stage like how Dedede appears in the background of the Dreamland 64 stage.

Maybe not a taunt per se, but Joker needs something similar to Palutena’s guidance with the Phantom Thieves. The chemistry that the Phantom Thieves have is great and hearing a new interaction for each character in the game would be amazing!
I can totally imagine Futaba geeking out about fighters like ROB and Mega Man. Sumire would definitely be amazed by Bayonetta’s and Wii Fit Trainer’s flexibility capabilities and would be the most vocal next to Ryuji in supporting Joker in his Smash Bros fights. Ryuji gushing about Captain Falcon would be pretty funny to watch and he would be the loudest in showing Joker support in his fights. Ann showing admiration for someone like Zero Suit Samus would make for an interesting interaction. Morgana having a one sided rivalry with Pikachu because of Ann finding Pikachu adorable would be hilarious 😆 Yusuke and Chrom having a conversation together would be hilarious in a meta kind of way. (Both characters share the same VA in English AND Japanese) Makoto showing respect for Robin who is a tactician would be interesting to see. Haru wanting to have tea time with Peach and Byleth would be wholesome to see. Akechi being annoyed by Sonic’s attitude and shenanigans would be entertainingly funny to watch.

Honestly, for the Joker taunt, what I'd like to see is him doing the Baton Pass animation with one of the Thieves. It's a reference to what they do in battle, plus it could add all the other Thieves by having it either be random or a set pattern. Just Ryuji or Morgana is still a good idea though, the first three members of the Thieves.
I like that idea! It would cycle like Morgana-Ryuji-Ann-Yusuke-Makoto-Noir-Akechi-Violet. When it comes to Akechi and Violet, it’ll differ slightly compared to the other thieves to get some Royal representation. Akechi could look at Joker with rage while they do the Baton Pass animation. Violet and Joker would Baton Pass by high fiving with both hands as a cute reference to their growing relationship in Royal.
The fact that you (or someone at least) actually animated these is really neat! A lot of these I would take over the official taunts even though they naturally aren't at the same level of polish.
if they made Dr. Mario's bug step taunt an bury move on stage and a spike move on ledge like Luigi, he would've had one of the funniest taunts in smash imo
I think. inkling's taunts are pretty good but 1. In Mariokart they used to "up yours" people which is incredibly in line since theyre teenagers and 2. Squidbagging exists as a taunt in the mainline series so they should be able to do that for a taunt. Booyah, squidbag and up yours would be an incredibly hilarious taunt range that actual Splatoon players would go insane over methinks
That joker one with Ryuji is bomb and I'm not a persona fan nor a joker main it's just awesome. Olimar one is cute. Wolf is an easy but very needed fix.
Project M had snake smoke a cigarette which would never be allowed but definitely fits. They also added the glasses as an easter egg that stays on squirtle until he gets hit.
Tbh Olimar stretching with the pikmin could be more of an idle animation rather than a taunt. For an actual new taunt i'd say that replace the 2 jumpings for the little victory spin dance and pose he did at the end of Occupational hazards (that pikmin short movie)
Actually Nick, Wolf does have the same VA. It’s just that instead of the Adventures trilogy Wolf, the Wolf in Ultimate is 64/Zero Wolf who has a much different demeanor than Adventures trilogy Wolf so his VA responded in kind.

A great taunt would be doc diagnosing you with a Skill issue, he just pulls out a clipboard, and if you use the camera you can look at the paper and it just says "Diagnosis: Skill Issue"
Impressive animation. I would personally add a pikachu taunt that flashes between Raichu and back, basically temporally using the thunderstone. Could be a neat idea with a little flash. Would mean me having to learn animating, but I can use that for other projects as well, so it is just a first project type.
I think that Mr. Game & Watch's taunts are good, just because two of them loop very well (Bell ringing and the sitting+sighing). Very effective for long durations and usable in many situations
I wish we got something similar to your Joker proposal for Shulk too. Yes this is mostly an excuse to have Reyn and Riki call people Cheeseball and smelly Orluga respectively. It would also, you know, allow him to... actually act like Shulk and not whatever Smash paints him to be while showing off some of the other cast members. Alternatively, Pyra/Mythra could pull out Tora for the "[insert fighter name] not very interesting, so Tora forget they exist." Would this require the recording of a lot of extra lines? Yes. This was removed because they changed actors, and the nature of Smash wouldn't allow him to record more lines, so they had to use lines from the game.

Honestly, for the Joker taunt, what I'd like to see is him doing the Baton Pass animation with one of the Thieves. It's a reference to what they do in battle, plus it could add all the other Thieves by having it either be random or a set pattern. Just Ryuji or Morgana is still a good idea though, the first three members of the Thieves.
I like that idea! It would cycle like Morgana-Ryuji-Ann-Yusuke-Makoto-Noir-Akechi-Violet.
When it comes to Akechi and Violet, it’ll differ slightly compared to the other thieves to get some Royal representation.
Akechi could look at Joker with rage while they do the Baton Pass animation.
Violet and Joker would Baton Pass by high fiving with both hands as a cute reference to their growing relationship in Royal.
Missed opportunity to have Dr. Mario diagnose his enemy with cringe. A sad day indeed.

I think. inkling's taunts are pretty good but 1. In Mariokart they used to "up yours" people which is incredibly in line since theyre teenagers and 2. Squidbagging exists as a taunt in the mainline series so they should be able to do that for a taunt. Booyah, squidbag and up yours would be an incredibly hilarious taunt range that actual Splatoon players would go insane over methinks

Project M had snake smoke a cigarette which would never be allowed but definitely fits. They also added the glasses as an easter egg that stays on squirtle until he gets hit.
Tbh Olimar stretching with the pikmin could be more of an idle animation rather than a taunt. For an actual new taunt i'd say that replace the 2 jumpings for the little victory spin dance and pose he did at the end of Occupational hazards (that pikmin short movie)

Actually Nick, Wolf does have the same VA. It’s just that instead of the Adventures trilogy Wolf, the Wolf in Ultimate is 64/Zero Wolf who has a much different demeanor than Adventures trilogy Wolf so his VA responded in kind.

A great taunt would be doc diagnosing you with a Skill issue, he just pulls out a clipboard, and if you use the camera you can look at the paper and it just says "Diagnosis: Skill Issue"

I would personally add a pikachu taunt that flashes between Raichu and back, basically temporally using the thunderstone. Could be a neat idea with a little flash.

I think that Mr. Game & Watch's taunts are good, just because two of them loop very well (Bell ringing and the sitting+sighing). Very effective for long durations and usable in many situations
