A quick sweep of their lasers dispatched the drone turrets, and they breached the outer doors without trouble. "Demolitions," the specialist answered when prompted. "Make me a hole." Despite protests, the commander insisted, "Do it!" His troops followed suit, albeit tentatively.

This story made no sense, and was disjointed, jumping from scene to scene.

Confusing - but if there had been just a bit of transition to explain the abrupt transition it likely could have been saved. Too bad, although this story process has been covered many times, this could have been an interesting entry into the genre.
