- 7805 Voltage Regulator Circuit | 12v to 5v Stepdown Converter is a circuit were very simple and it has 2 components only to make it. This circuit can be use a mobile charger it is because it has 5V output.
Components Needed:
- 7805 transistor
- Capacitor 25v and 10v
- Connecting wires
- 6-14v input supply
- USB port

How are you dissipating all that heat from 12V to 5V through the voltage regulator? Are you not drawing enough current? 7V*1A= a lot of fire lol just wondering.

@@JaviersDIY just Voltage is same, but output amperage is not same, is not it? Like 7805A output amperage is 1.5 while output amperage of L is just 150 miliampere.

It will heat up if is use for a longer period of time that why heatsink is a must
@@JaviersDIY I have built same circuit, but the supply has 3A. And Heat Dissipation of 7*3 = 27W, is a bit too much even for Heat Sink. I'm thinking to use DC-DC buck converter for this.

You cannot get a current of 5A if you use that IC. You need to use a module that can generate 5A output current
