This by far the best version of this song. Their voices are magical together!!! Diana Ross can sing it too but Tammy & Marvin sang it into history. We lost Tammy too soon to cancer because she blessed us with her heavenly voice. Please listen to more of her music & keep her spirit alive. God bless you.
Marvin and Tammi were a duo made in heaven. Both taken WAY too soon. This brings me back to a time when Motown was everywhere, and were hitting everything out of the park. Thanks guys. 🤘😉
Marvin Gaye was part of early Motown in the 1960's. He had a lot of great duets with Tammi Terrell such as "Your Precious Love", "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing", "You're All I Need To Get By", "If I Could Build My Whole World Around You" etc. Sadly Tammi died young in 1970 at the age of only 24. Marvin never got over her death.
Asia & BJ, you'll love Marvin's "Lets Get It On" !!! He had amazing duets with Tammi Terrell such as "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" and "You're All I Need to Get By"!!!
Thank you for this. I was a Motown junkie back in the 60s/70s and I loved everything that Marvin and Tami did. Their voices just blended so well. This is beautiful. Sadly, they both left us when they were young but hearing this took me back to those days of fantastic music. 👏👏❤️
@Asia and BJ- Always loved this song to. Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell did several duets together. We sadly lost Tammy way to young. She was justs 24 when she passed away.
This is such a great classic by these two legends! Also check out "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing", "You're All I Need to Get By" among others. Thanks so much guys for posting and reacting to this one - hard to sit still (like BJ:)!!🧡
We were so darn lucky to have such amazingly talented singers like Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell to listen to back in the day. It makes me so happy to see young people like the both of you experiencing and appreciating what we took for granted. Sadly, they both left us far too soon, but thankfully the music they created lives on.
Marvin and Tammi's voices were perfectly blended. Together their voices sounded like something from heaven. They were truly special! The instrumental track was laid down by the fabulous 'Funk Brothers'. They played on all the tracks Motown did while in Detroit, before the company move to Los Angeles. It was arranged I believe by Paul Riser. Adding all the horns and strings. Himself a very young Motown arranger not long out of high school. Talent abounded at Motown. Peace to you both!
I love this song! My siblings and I used to watch this Marvin Gaye Motown biography my mama bought VHS back in the late 80's and it had all his hits on there videos and all!!
Listen to anything that Marvin and Tammi did and you will be in love! They were a perfect duo that was separated by Tammi's death. Thank God I'm old enough to remember this music when it first came out!
I have been absolutely spoiled when it comes to music...my mom raised me on the oldies and classical. I grew up in the 80s and had a cool aunt that listened to rock and roll...and have many influences in other genres of music. It truly brings people together ❤️
My goddess. My TT. 4/29 is a holiday for me. Tammi Terrell has been a cornerstone of my life since age 10 in 1988. I pray to her. I can’t live without her music. I have her as the template of perfect beauty. She is everything to me. I am not exaggerating.
The Funk Brothers was the house band for Motown. They played on many of the Motown Releases in the 60's and early 70's. James Jamerson was an awesome bass player, and he was "one" of the Funk Brothers bassists.
Tammi's later songs (because of her illness) were voiced by the writer co-writer of the songs, Valerie Simpson. The credits on the album in your photo (complete duets) have now been electronically updated to show which songs were voiced by Valerie.
Lots of tragic stories around pop and rock music, and Tammi's rates near the top. So young, beautiful, and talented, and taken so early from her family and the world.
Believe it or not the cast of Sister Act 2 did this really well too. It was even in Step Mom with Susan Sarandon "singing" it with her kids before she dies. Julia Roberts was also in that movie.
Y’all I was like “Wait a Min” during a live a long time ago I had u guys play this version because most people think it’s Diana Ross’s song..& I told y’all that this was the original & THERE IS NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH TO TOP IT LOL 😂! I was just so confused about why it was being done as a new one…unless it never went on the channel b4 but was just in the Live?? Well either way it was cool to hear it again! ✌🏻& Love! ☀️
Very good my favorite by them is If I could build my World around You. Very sad Tammi died of a brain tumor at age 24. Had a whole life ahead of her. Great voice, loved it.
Diana Ross covered this in 1970 and it became her first solo hit. The song was written by married Motown songwriters Valerie Simpson and Nicholas Ashford. They would later have their own recording career.
Love love love this duet version of this song, it's definitely one of a kind and cannot be touch!! However Diana Ross version is equally awesome and one of a kind and cannot be touch!! Its amazing this same song can be sung by two different artist in different ways and both versions are Awsome!!!!!!!
Thank you, thank you. Final someone reacts to Tammi. Plz do " all i do is think of you". I will like and put positive comments on every video for this favor. Girl deserves a solo reaction.
Send this song to my daughter. Our relationship is not good. But it doesn’t matter. A mothers love is a mothers love. Always reminds me of the scene from StepMom
Hello!!! First of all let me just say that yall are adorable!!!! I'm 55 and I'm from Philly and Motown was always in heavy rotation on the radio and in my house growing up. I just discovered your channel and I am now a subscriber!!! I don't know how old yall are, but I love when young people embrace old music, because they are timeless gems!!! My sons are 27 and 31 and they love old school music because of me, I exposed them to it. I appreciate this type of content and I am hooked. How can I request a song? I would love for you guys to react to some Marvin Gaye songs. He is my favorite male artist of all time. Can you react to Distant lover and I want you by Marvin Gaye?
Marvin and Tammi had great chemistry together. They have several duets. Marvin went into a deep, deep depression when she passed away at the age of 24.
Unfortunately, when our beloved Tammie died at the tender age of 24, Marven fell into a deep depression, which began his descent into drug abuse. Tragic both ways around , as we lost two talented geniuses. 😞😔
Even though it's kind of a breakup song, it still has a positive, uplifting feeling to it. I much prefer this version to Diana Ross's solo rendition which sounds like a big production number to me. jmo. I wonder how many more duets Marvin and Tammi would have done, or if she would have gone on to a solo career. She and Marvin both taken tragically young, may they RIP.
Definitely my favorite version of this song, both artists were talented, I miss this type of music
Far and away my fave version of this great song
Marvin was devastated when Tammy passed and went into deep depression, very sad indeed.
Thou knowest! That was the love of his life.
Marvin and Tammi were a duo made in heaven. Both taken WAY too soon. This brings me back to a time when Motown was everywhere, and were hitting everything out of the park. Thanks guys. 🤘😉
Thier voices blended so well and were just an amazing duo.
They both had very sad endings.
But boy did they belt it out together.
Good one guys.

Thank you for this. I was a Motown junkie back in the 60s/70s and I loved everything that Marvin and Tami did. Their voices just blended so well. This is beautiful. Sadly, they both left us when they were young but hearing this took me back to those days of fantastic music. 👏👏❤️

Tragic is the correct word. They were wonderful in every way.
You gotta love Marvin and Tammi. What a duet! You can feel the love! I have the tune "You're All I Need to Get By." Great stuff!
@Asia and BJ- Always loved this song to. Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell did several duets together. We sadly lost Tammy way to young. She was justs 24 when she passed away.

But how come everyone forgets their duet “If this world were mine.”
We were so darn lucky to have such amazingly talented singers like Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell to listen to back in the day. Yeah she had a brain tumor around 22 years old and for him was actually shot by his own father!😢
Love it! Marvin and Tammi were a great duo. Lets not forget the Motown backing band, The Funk Brothers with the legendary James Jamerson on bass.

every time i hear a song with Tammi Terrel i wish she did live longer and made manymore songs because her voice is amazing.
Marvin loved Tami even though they were friends. You can really hear it in “Your Precious Love”
Smooth as silk!!! Marvin and Tammi were a force to be reckoned with!!!💕 ✌❤
Marvin never got over her death. He had a fine career but inside he was broken.
The most fantastic duo RIP both of them

Tim Murphy. Definitely reminds me of the glory days of The Big 8 CKLW. Their Playlist was the best. 👍
I was a youngster when Tammi was still alive and I remember hearing this. I was about 5 years old.
Listen to anything that Marvin and Tammi did and you will be in love! They were a perfect duo that was separated by Tammi's death. Thank God I'm old enough to remember this music when it first came out!
This is such a lovely song❤
The greatest duet period.
Best duet ever
I have been absolutely spoiled when it comes to music...my mom raised me on the oldies and classical. I grew up in the 80s and had a cool aunt that listened to rock and roll...and have many influences in other genres of music. It truly brings people together ❤️
Oh Marvin. *swoon* You all are right, their voices are beautiful together.
What a groove. James Jamerson on bass, ladies and gentlemen. Such a bop.
Yes, their voices blend so well together. 😊😊😊

Grew up listening to and enjoying this kind of music. Loved the sound of these two. Remember listening to this on my "10 transistor radio".
My goddess. My TT. 4/29 is a holiday for me. Tammi Terrell has been a cornerstone of my life since age 10 in 1988. I pray to her. I can’t live without her music. I have her as the template of perfect beauty.

One of my absolute favorite songs ever. They were Mr and Mrs Motown.
I’m crying 😂😂😂Asia started singing and BJ held his arm up in the air. I’m dying😅😅😅😅
Motown at its very best. The vocal talent, the musicians the writers all at peak form maybe unmatched in music history.
The Funk Brothers was the house band for Motown. They played on many of the Motown Releases in the 60's and early 70's. James Jamerson was an awesome bass player, and he was "one" of the Funk Brothers bassists.
Thanks for sharing this one it's been a long time since I heard this Really enjoyed it
Thanks for keeping great music alive!
Can't listen to this without getting a huge smile on my face.
Gotta love Motown.
This song was in the movie “Step Mom” with Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. Awesome song!!!!
One of my favorites of theirs is California Soul.
Tammi's later songs (because of her illness) were voiced by the writer co-writer of the songs, Valerie Simpson. The credits on the album in your photo (complete duets) have now been electronically updated to show which songs were voiced by Valerie.
Nothing like it! The Real thing. Both gone too soon. Great reaction! Thanks1
Lots of tragic stories around pop and rock music, and Tammi's rates near the top. So young, beautiful, and talented, and taken so early from her family and the world.
I was 8 years old. My mom and all my girl cousins would be singing and dancing to this song
THE best!🎉❤❤
RIP Marvin and Tammi. Jim
Believe it or not the cast of Sister Act 2 did this really well too. It was even in Step Mom with Susan Sarandon "singing" it with her kids before she dies. Julia Roberts was also in that movie.

Two beautiful people--they departed far too early and left a void behind them that no one can fill.
Not gonna lie, always loved the version that Diana Ross did. Check out her version sometime! 😉
They were such a beautiful couple as well so sad when she died
“Your Precious Love” is even better

Guys you should react to one of Goldies " Cam'ron Hey Ma" suits Spring vibes and bring great memories
Both died way to young. Marvin loved her so much. I don't think he was ever the same after she died and nobody could ever replace him.
They were very close Marvin was Heartbroken when Tammi died suddenly
this is what real music sounds like
They were such good friends and both passed while young. I think it would have lasted forever if they could have been a couple.
Yes, good choice. A song a know
Unfortunately, when our beloved Tammie died at the tender age of 24, Marven fell into a deep depression, which began his descent into drug abuse. Tragic both ways around , as we lost two talented geniuses. 😞😔
Thought that you two were going to get up and dance together 😊
Remember the Titans.

Marvi & Tammi are the reason I like Peaches & Herb, Ashford & Simpson, Atlantic Starr, just the best there is.
Waiting to hear "The Well" by The Marcus King Band"
💜
You should react to Diana Ross singing "Missing You", her and Lionel Richie's tribute to Marvin Gaye.
Loved this you guys should try islands in the stream dolly parton and kenny rogers
Still have the Motown 45
There is a good movie this song is featured in. Step Moms. Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. It’s good.
More Motown please!❤❤
