    Another idea for the plastic boxes is to use them for card sets, mini ink pad storage, gift packaging after decorating. Could even spray paint and decorate to package card sets if plastic has discolored.
    Wood blocks could be used for mini art blocks, attach a cute photo, art piece, make into a word strip for holidays. So many uses. If you don’t want. You could advertise for free on Facebook marketplace in your are or on your UA-cam channel if someone wants them. So much reusable material. Just some ideas

    Thanks for sharing this. I have a ton of wood block stamp that I never use. This will help me incorporate them with the other stamps and save room in my craft room at the same time.

    This is so neat. I'm thinking it might be possible to use old DVD cases for storing these. Now, what can be done with the leftover blocks of wood...?

    I think you are putting the wrong side on the stamp. I had the same problem, but found that if I peeled off the top cover of the sticky labels and then put the stamp on that, it worked better. One side of the adhesive is more sticky than the other.

    Hi Cindy. I am excited to try this with my old wood block stamp sets. I think the problem with the stickiness is because you need to just peel back the paper layer, then place your vinyl side of stamp down. (Just like you would adhere labels to your newer rubber stamps.). You are doing it backwards. Hope this helps.

    Unfortunately I didn't save my backing sheets from my old rubber stamps. What I did, thanks to your video, Is removed the label from the wood mount and , while it was till hot and sticky, stuck it to the back of the rubber stamp and trimmed around it. It will not stick to the clear stamp block but I'm just going to use some repositionable tape runner to make it stick and then just rub it off or use it that way until I need to reapply the tape. Fortunately I don't have many wood mount stamps to do but it sure beats the cling mount system. I tried that and it was tedious and messy with having to stamp the image in Staz-On and clean the stamp and so on. Thanks so much for your video. Gotto go....got work to do!

      Many people use Aleen’s tack it over and over repositionable adhesive to make stamps adhere for stamping. I just started unmounting my stamps so I haven’t tried it yet, but I definitely will.

  • @doramather4729
    @doramather4729 3 роки тому +5

    I saw a person put aleens's tack it over & over glue on top of the picture of the stamp and let dry and she had a sticky stamp that work on the block and also stuck to her storage case, instead of using a piece of tape.

    • @AlaneLane
      @AlaneLane 3 роки тому

      Same I also saw someone do that. I wonder how long both methods work.

      The tack it over and over glue sticks to my acrylic blocks and Misti. I have to clean with goo gone every time I use it.😢 I am going to try those cling strips. Thank you for sharing ☺️

    Really good video, thank you! Any suggestion about this issue: If the original wood stamp doesn't have a peel-off label, I guess I'd have to photocopy the block image and cut it down to size... but any ideas how I would then attach the paper image onto the stamp back? (i.e., same as I would've done with the label from the block). The paper wouldn't hold up with use, it would need some kind of coating, I think. Any ideas?

    • @cindylyon-greetingsandmemo298
      @cindylyon-greetingsandmemo298  Рік тому +2

      Hi Cindi- The only thing I can think of is to stamp the image on paper then laminate it with packing tape before glueing it to the back of the rubber. Or maybe create a label by stamping the image with. StazOn ink onto packaging tape and sticking that to the rubber?

    • @Mary-el3pi
      @Mary-el3pi 2 роки тому

      You do have to make sure about which side of the sticky strip goes on the stamp and which side goes on the block. I had to redo most of the ones I tried to remove from the wood blocks!

    Any suggestions or ideas about what to do for those wood mount stamps that you can buy individually that DON'T have the label or picture on back that is removable? I was thinking of making a photo copy of the back of the stamp and putting it on something - or maybe stamping the stamp itself onto some sort of clear paper that can be put on the unmounted stamp? I need suggestions, please!

      Hmm…Stamping the image on a label (I’m thinking of the large printable mailing labels) sounds like a good plan! I would then cover the image with clear packing tape, cut it out and stick it to your stamp, then apply your adhesive strip.

      I know this is going to sound stupid, but ~ when you take the strip off of the page of adhesives, what next? Cindy put it on the stamp and then removed the white protective paper. Should we remove the white protective paper and put THAT side on the stamp instead?
