I remember as a young boy in 1979 going to California Sands. It had an enormous amusement arcade I remember, with a big high ceiling like a swimming pool

KOOL Sean! The Beach and the 'California Tavern' in the opening shot did very much appear it could have been the California coast from north of San Fransisco, or Bodega Bay where Hitchcock filmed The Birds from 40 or 50 years ago. it was a delight seeing the village and meeting the locals. It brought back fond memories of when I was a kid and my Mum and Dad would take us to the California or Oregon coast. And even with all the all too obvious failings of the failing empire, it does seem many reminders and charms of Old England and Great Brittan remain to be relished. I hope I can also relish such places before I permanently can't Love it! Thanks again mate!
@@jackblue4078 Perhaps it is ... I was a child then and my father was a Stunt Double for Rod Taylor in the Birds so the California coast from that time is sort of an indelible memory. Ray Berwick the bird handler and trainer for the film was a friend of my father's who also trained the Dogs the lassie TV Show. Interesting that the Birds in the film were the real stars. Ray stayed at our home a couple of times, and once trained our German Shepard 'Hobo' to go about 100 yards down our driveway and retrieve the newspaper from it's box. Later he showed my my father how to train Hobo to preform sequential behaviors on command. With Dogs his positive reinforcement training method, smart dogs seemed to develop an almost human intelligence. It was astonishing and I wonder if the birds he trained developed a similar human like intelligence?
Sad to see it looking so quiet when it's July...remember when I was young which is a long long time ago used to have holidays on the Norfolk coast...Hemsby to Gorleston and into Lowestoft which I realise is North Suffolk..used to be rammed but appears that has all changed...shops closed, only a few miserable old folk about apart from the 2 men who lived there, the can't film in here from the pc warriors..now in my older years go to the beaches in Thailand which remind me of my younger years in Norfolk.. Take care Sean and thankyou for bringing back a few memories for me... Go easy on that scrumpy..😂
Great vlog. Will be going to stay for 4 nights at Camifornia cliffs next month. Sad about the decline and how you remember all the arcades, much like it once was at Reculver Castle in Herne Bay Kent as a child in the 1970's where we had our own caravan. Loved it.
Great beach Sean & so clean😊🎉Beautiful area, sadly PC has ruined the childhood memories you & others use to enjoy!😮Nice to see you were able to chat it up with those gents makes vlogging more enjoyable!😊👍Definitely a good day for picnic or in your case a brewski🍺 cheery hat!Looking forward to your cooking vlogs Sean, maybe chef boy R D a.k a hubby can experience some of your dishes 🍜🍝🌮🙂🤠thanks for sharing!😊
Hello from CA. Sean, u had me fooled thinking u were here, same "help wanted" signs here, so damn expensive, long 4 Asia! Beautiful beach, clouds & super clean but the damn weather! Miss your long hair!
make your own comparison buddy, I was amazed there was no litter wat so ever, an these beaches are left to fend for themselves, no clean up hear, Cheers buddy
Nothing beats as a youngster caravan holidays .I can still Taste Weymouth sand in my sandwiches and my late Mother saying ''It won't kill you for gods sake 😊Its funny what you remember years ago .Me as a 6yr old at stupid o'clock in the morning wearing pyjamas walking to the toilet on my own saying hi to the bin men .Can you imagine that now ,Parents would have been locked up 🤦♂For the record ,i was on the side of the crocodile ,couldn't stand Punch's voice 🤦♂
Good day! Strange how people flock to Southwold and Wells , when the best beaches are between Caister and Horsey. Looks like I could go back and have the whole place to myself, not much has changed!
Nice place for a holiday buddy. Thanks for taking us there. Mid summer and only low 20s. A million miles away from the old stomping grounds up and down beaches, going for a snorkel and polishing off half a dozen Leos with the odd bifta thrown in. Just the same I'm enjoying your series there in England mate. Hope your mum is doing well. Cheers Sean 🤩
Sean.. we've got some of the best beaches in the world, but unfortunately, the weather is crap and bloody. The North Sea is freezing.. all the time..get to Hemsby quick before it sinks back into the sea.. good vlogg.
Sean, I find the majority of places that used to visit as a youngster or young adult have become disappointed or just ain't there anymore, at least in Britain you keep ur neighborhood pubs in Canada not so, many of the awesome bars, clubs, restaurants I fondly frequented are no more, replaced by a current franchise or boring coffee bar, fking shame mate, hope ur mom is doing well...
Great description of the huge skies they looked fantastic from the beach- cheers buddy
