This song reminded me of Yvonne Rand, a Buddhist meditation teacher and her husband Bill Sterling. Yvonne said, to a class she was teaching that i was taking, that she and Bill said these words to each other as they parted for parts of their days of many years being together. Bill was Yvonne’s caretaker at the end of her life. He died in 2019 before Yvonne the next year. Her last words I am told were “Emptiness, Thank you”.
This track is so much fun live...the studio version plays more like a hymn, lacking that rambunctiousness that gets a packed room up and dancing...swell in its own right though.
Absolutely beautiful version of this song!
