Kakashi is always late (i got lost on the path of life) (or i was helping an old lady carry her luggage)...IN A WAY he keeps his friends memories alive by using the same excuse
I am pretty sure that in other flashbacks, we see Obito actually doing that, helping the elderly. In I wouldn't be suprised if a good part of Kakashi being late (when he doesn't read Jiraya's books all day) is because he was sidetracked to help someone.
Kakashi is one of the better told characters in this series. He definitely became my favorite character throughout the series. His friendships, hardships, and growth.
Remember back in OG Naruto, during the Third Hokage's funeral? They name drop Obito while Kakashi is talking to that purple-haired girl at the memorial stone.
30:35 Now it makes more sense to know why Kakashi visits the memorial stone a lot, as he said at the beginning of Team 7's exam, "the names of my friends are engraved there"
Yeah, Obito's sacrifice is a major thing which formed Kakashi whom we know today. The words Obito said about abandoning friends, that's quote by quote the moral Kakashi's teaching team 7 in the very 4rd episode of Naruto. And he literally failed all the genin who just followed his rules, until Sasuke and Sakura broke the rule for the sake of Naruto.

team 7 first mission was also at a bridge where sasuke and naruto reflected the connection between obito and kakashi where naruto also mention if abandoning your friends is the shinobi way, then i will change it
Kakashi probably has the most fascinating backstory in the whole show. People used to say Kakashi was the true MC of this show. It's almost as if the whole story is being told from Kakashi's POV. I hope you're ready for the ride!
to me..Obito is everything an Uchiha could be... Kakashi is that one cool guy, that you see and admire, only to find out that he is so SO much cooler and never ever disappoints. Also, he is the one that started the white-hair crazy cool sensei era
What an episode. I cry everytime I watch this. Came out in the anime when I was like 13 I think... now I am 28... and this double episode still makes me cry when I see it. What a masterpiece.
I never figured it out until years later... today... that the reason the man appeared over the rock was because Kakashi's arm stuck all the way through his chest and he had a hard time pulling out of his chest cavity that he had to drag the corpse up to the top of the rock with his arm stuck in him until he got to the top. Made for a great fakeout, but it was simply because his chidori got his hand stuck.
it's just a fakeout. even if by your theory he had to drag, kakashi has to be the one in front dragging the corpse due to body's leverage of energy usage
I genuinely USED to think Kakashi Chronicles was better to watch immediately after Naruto and before watching Shippuden, but I've changed my mind. Shippuden further builds on Kakashi's importance, and so by the time Chronicles appears you care a lot more about Kakashi. Also, once the early Shippuden arcs start, you can easily forget the importance of Kakashi Chronicles due to how many new characters, trainings, abilities, and stories come into play you're trying to find your bearings with the info dump. I think you made the right choice by watching this in order! With this backstory, does it make more sense now why Kakashi's key lesson in Team 7's (Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura) initial training, Naruto tied to the post trying to steal the bells, was the adage ""In the Ninja World, those who break the rules are scum, that's true...but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum!"? 🤔😮I love how this story recalls so many important themes and messages from early in the show.
Unpopular opinion, but Obito’s death is completely Kakashi’s fault. He didn’t make sure that enemy is dead. Dude recovered in 5 seconds and caused falling rocks. Kakashi was all about rules at that time, I am pretty sure there is a rule to finish off enemy and/or to make sure you did it
34:59 kakashi did favour sasuke a bit..but had no choice.. because chidori is incomplete..without a sharingan (you can't counter the incoming attacks ..when you're moving at a high speed) a reason naruto was not taught chidori by kakashi..(even though naruto tried it .. in one episode.. in og 😂) btw i love your reactions..and how you explain the emotional aspect of the show...HOPE YOU ARE enjoying shippuden
The main reason Naruto was not taught that jutsu is probably because lightning is not his chakra nature. He’d be able to do it round about at the stage where he finished his mount myobuku training I think otherwise.
I’m sure someone else has already said so but the Kanabi bridge takes place when Kakashi was only 12 and he had just been promoted to a Jonin while Rin and Obito were a bit older and still chunin Also, he’s late in current day for two reasons: 1) he wants to visit the memorial of fallen shinobi (Obito, amongst others) 2) he took up Obito’s habit of helping people “real quick” on his way to his missions
But never lost hope, and only grew into a better person. As for Kakashi the best way to honor them was to embody their greatness in his own ways. Such as training his team to break the rules and take care of comrades, as he did with the food test. It all comes down to Obito's lesson that day.
kakashi is my favorite not because he's cool, but because his story, is profoundly moving. i still tear up seeing this 😭 it really makes you think about the friendships he has now like with Guy for example.
He is my favorite cos he is the only one with that deep trauma who didn't go full evil arc. He is sane, he is good and he is capable. Eventhough he is not the best example of healthy coping, cos he never actulally heals from the trauma and never moves on, just left stuck with coping with books and not getting close with anyone. Actually that's why I don't even want to watch Boruto, cos leaving him just alone and not resolving his trauma annoys me so much...
Even back before Shippuden, before the 3rd Hokage’s funeral another Jonin meets Kakashi at the memorial stone and asks if he’s there mourning Obito. So it’s been set up for quite a while!
These two episodes were some of my favourite in the series. Been waiting for you to react to this. I like how you piece everything together so well, especially that Kakashi visits his friends grave, being Obito.
You probably won't see this since it's an old video, but at @30:34 you asked is that why he's always late, because he's at his grave? In part yes, but also if you remember back to when we were first introduced to Kakashi, he was late meeting Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. His excuse was he was helping an old lady, which is the exact excuse Obito used here when he was late. I'm not crying, you are.
Kakashi has always been a favorite of mine for several reasons from his design having a secret weapon to his coolness to his personality. I didn't like young Kakashi at 1st but I guess everyone needs time to mature espesially after his trama with his dad. I guess living up to the character of adult Kakshi is indeed to much expection to put on any kid. Your reaction to Kakashi's backstory there is too much to say but thankfully you said most of it already! Yes Kakashi is always late because he is visiting Obito's grave. We didn't have context at the time but before the 3rd Hokage's funeral Kakshi was asked: instead of constantly making excuses for being late why not come to Obito's grave earlier? Kakashi said: "I did I have been here since dawn" In case you missed it Kakahsi's sensei said that he should never use Chidori again becasue it is blinding, leaves an opening, and doesn't give Kakashi a chance to react. But the Sharigan improves vision and allows you to predict enemy moves so it allows Kakashi to be prepared for a counter attack. Chidori was never going to work without sharingan!
If you look closely, kakashis regular eye is very unique compared to everyone else's, its drawn in a way that you can see the horrors behind that eye and all the pain his gone through
Kakashi saw his team in all 3 of his students: Sasuke was like Kakashi, Naruto like Obito and Sakura like Rin. Love triangle, personalities and all. Similar pattern with Jiraya, Orochimaru and Tsunade's group dynamic.
Talking about crying I have watched shippuden like 3 times I still cry whenever I watch these episodes It is just the beginning I will recommend you to have some tissues. You will cry out of sadness out of happiness out of satisfaction and out of surprises.😊
I remember back in the day waiting for each episode to release per week since start of shippuden was so bad for heart. But they did a solid and released these 2 episodes together and ngl it was probably the best week for naruto fans coz man i don't know if i would've been able to sit through all week just to complete this beautiful back story :'D Naruto Shippuden is honestly a masterpiece. And I am glad you are also experiencing it slowly but surely flexie! Needless to say it also feels amazing to watch it again with your reactions, so thank you for that :D
"Its just 2 episodes so idk how much really we are covering" Oh man, she wasn't ready PepeLaugh Ps. You are right, he saw himself in Sasuke. Actually during, i dont remember the exact episode, but when Sasuke VS Gaara happens, when Sasuke climbs the wall and readies his 1st chidori in the show, Kakashi said to Guy (and Naruto, Sakura, Rock Lee, etc.) "You know why I personally trained Sasuke? Because he is just like me", something along those lines. Also, believe it or not, UNFORTUNATELY, people watch this whole show, and its as if the powerful messages it conveys enter on one ear and exit out of the other one right away, whatever be the reason. The good thing is that there are those of us, you included, who really really take it in and make it part of our lives. This is why after my early adulthood I've had a hard time judging people. Is no longer an innate-automatic response to judge people based on anything bad. i just can't anymore. Not after seeing how hard life can be for any-given-one-of-us. Ty for appretiating this big part of our childhood's pillars
In the show there are some hints that, with Obito's sharingan implanted, Kakashi kind of adopted some Obito things like beign late, so I'm not pretty sure if he is late bc he is hanging out at the memorial stone or that have some deeper meaning
@FLEXIEJAYANIME yeah if you rewatch Naruto you can a lot of stuff after knowing backstories, that’s the art of this anime. It’s the reason he does the bell training and disqualifies most students who don’t understand team work and gives Naruto and Sasuke the same speach about abandoning teammates

The symbolism at 26:19 is so amazing. The fact it's *Obito's* eye crying (Kakashi's left eye), rather than Kakashi's original eye. Because Obito put him back in touch with his emotions. Obito let him know it was okay to be human. And I love his last words of "I just wish... I could spend more time with everyone." And while Obito is kinda the "focus" here (aside from Kakashi), meeting Minato is huge too. God I love that man. Kishimoto did such a great job with this backstory in such a short time.
Yes, u will need tissues, the moment with Asuma and Shikamaru, then Kakashis story were the moments when I realized why I came to love Naruto above other animes, trust me, it will get better, in both good and bad ways It is awesome to see how Kakashi was a dumb, judgemental kid, it gives nuance to his character and explains why he is who he is, he had to grow up quickly and get wiser early in the most painful way
In just 2 episodes Naruto can make you connect to characters you never seen before and mourn them like you knew them for years, other anime/manga just can't pull stuff like this off

You will cry out of sadness out of happiness out of satisfaction and out of surprises.😊
I remember back in the day waiting for each episode to release per week since start of shippuden was so bad for heart. But they did a solid and released these 2 episodes together and ngl it was probably the best week for naruto fans coz man i don't know if i would've been able to sit through all week just to complete this beautiful back story :'D
Naruto Shippuden is honestly a masterpiece. And I am glad you are also experiencing it slowly but surely flexie!
Needless to say it also feels amazing to watch it again with your reactions, so thank you for that :D
I will watch this show forever.
このエピソードは何回見ても泣ける
who noticed that Kakashi also picked up the habit of being late from Obito and giving unreasonable explanation for being late 🤣🤣
"Its just 2 episodes so idk how much really we are covering"
Oh man, she wasn't ready PepeLaugh
Ps.
Ty for appretiating this big part of our childhood's pillars
waching you go trough shippuden makes me live again those emotions i felt years ago!
Wait a minute 🤨😏😏
She finally cried in the end I cried all the time watching all of this go down all the time
Yeah, kakashi's and Obito's backstory was freaken brutal. Obito was a true Hero!
Love your reactions, especially Naruto's. And want more, more, can't wait that long :)
Normally i sit here e just watch Flexie cry and it´s okay, but this time i cried too. First time rewatching Kakashi Gaiden and hits like a truck.
That's a beautiful story and you are the most beautiful reactor
In the show there are some hints that, with Obito's sharingan implanted, Kakashi kind of adopted some Obito things like beign late, so I'm not pretty sure if he is late bc he is hanging out at the memorial stone or that have some deeper meaning
@FLEXIEJAYANIME yeah if you rewatch Naruto you can a lot of stuff after knowing backstories, that’s the art of this anime.
It’s the reason he does the bell training and disqualifies most students who don’t understand team work and gives Naruto and Sasuke the same speach about abandoning teammates
31:23 from here on you need tissue for every moment 😢
Dia telah menemukan salah satu karakter terbaik di anime ini
Hey flexie , i dont know if u read here that much. I came for Ur jjk reactions bc i am obsessed with it, but after i finished Ur reactions to jjk i kinda missen u and Ur opinions so i decided to wach your naruto reactions.i really loved naruto when i watched it and im excited for u to get traumatized like i was❤. I think the Show would be something for u too. I adored it. Tanks for ur content ❤
29:00 Still hurts to listen this, anyway mad respect for kakashi
The symbolism at 26:19 is so amazing. The fact it's *Obito's* eye crying (Kakashi's left eye), rather than Kakashi's original eye. Because Obito put him back in touch with his emotions. Obito let him know it was okay to be human. And I love his last words of "I just wish... I could spend more time with everyone."
And while Obito is kinda the "focus" here (aside from Kakashi), meeting Minato is huge too. God I love that man. Kishimoto did such a great job with this backstory in such a short time.
kakashi didn't favor sasuke its just he was the right person and naruto was always going to be under jiraya since he trained minato
I wish I could watch Naruto for the first time again 😭
I'm there with you! Crying so hard 😂 get Shippuudened!
Not Obito with the excuses as to why he's late. 😢
Love your reactions!❤
A special intro for this episodes? Nice!
Yes, u will need tissues, the moment with Asuma and Shikamaru, then Kakashis story were the moments when I realized why I came to love Naruto above other animes, trust me, it will get better, in both good and bad ways
It is awesome to see how Kakashi was a dumb, judgemental kid, it gives nuance to his character and explains why he is who he is, he had to grow up quickly and get wiser early in the most painful way
Obito villain back story even more heart breaking
My wife, "I've only known this kid for 2 episodes and I am bawling my eyes out."
what an amazing reaction
Remember when Kakashi told Sasuke "I already lost everyone" ?
In just 2 episodes Naruto can make you connect to characters you never seen before and mourn them like you knew them for years, other anime/manga just can't pull stuff like this off
RIP Obito😭
Yeah, Naruto always manages to do that to me too.
