Did it actually work? Was there a level restriction? I was Level 124, and my friend brand new to the game, and she couldn’t find my summon anywhere.

I found that there is no restriction if you use the search mode. The system does weaken stronger players’ stats to try to mitigate the difference though. The level restrictions are only present for random matchmaking.

Does the audio go screwy for you guys once you've been summoned in someone elses world? There's like a ghostly hum and missing sound effects. It sounds absolutely awful.

PS. I wanna play Dark Souls Remastered with my Brother,since he'd fallen into a severeDepression and since I am in the same position as him(but don't talk about it,unlike he does)and had already played Dark Souls recently for the first time,which helped me out when I got desparate to cope with stuff...I'd have loved to play with him in hopes of possibly helping him get out of it as well...

Actually, I think you can. It's just a bit of a hassle, as there are restrictions for what players can you summon and after defeating each boss you'd have to summon again.
But maybe possible.
In fact, if you haven't done it already, and if there's space for another, I'd love to join.

As a matter of fact it is possible to play the game entirely co-operative. Me and the guys played through the game zone by zone and boss by boss and shared made alot of memory's. Anyway yes there are some restrictions unfortunately, for example if your at a higher soul level than the person, you can't summon. If you and your bro are at the same level plus or minus 1 just to be safe, you can be summoned. The other finicky part is finding the spots to summon lol. But yes it's completely possible to play the game co-operatively through summons. Hope that answers your question😌
