Mate, you'd understand how untrue that statement is if you'd played on anything but Journalist mode. Marauders are absolutely shit, god awful design, and should never have been put in the game. They're actually the worst thing about the game.
@@Criomorph Dude, I did hate Marauders, EVERYONE does, but, I mean... its just dodging his ranged axe attack, and just shoot with a super shotty, then just fire a powerful round while he's down. He isnt mechanically bullcrap, he's frustrating but you have to deal with him strategically. Doom Eternal is all about making you more efficient and effective in combat. It isnt just "Shoot it till it dies", you have to exploit weaknesses. Would you rather have the Marauder be some dumb bullet sponge? It wouldn't be a big challenge then.
And by axe range you mean throwing range 🤣

They're supposed to be a counter to the Doomslayer which is why they're fast as fuck, use a shield, can summon, and has a shotty of their own. What better way to fight the Doomslayer than to use his own strategy against him?

Don't forget how the demons repeatedly clear paths for you throughout the campaign. Its like the demons are clearing the way for you in purpose.
How to kill the marauder
Step 1: You don’t
Step 2: Read step 1
it's easy, once you get the green glowing eye you can use ur ballista, then change to super shotgun, then change back to ballista. you can shoot him 3 times that way, and only took me 3 successful green eye stun to kill him
Marauder is actually one of the easier heavy demons. Now the whiplashes, on the other hand...those suckers are cheap.
@@spamhere1123 yeah because ice grenade has very long cooldown(much nerfed stun grenade on plasma from 2016) and rocket launcher has almost no ammo(13 vs 35 in 2016) and other weapons are very bad against them.
@@KnightGunny In addition, you can create explosions behind him to falter him, for example with the rocket launcher or well placed frags. Red Barrels are a godsend too. Lastly, you can one-shot him with a bfg to the face, however ONLY at the EXACT right time. Otherwise it's a complete waste. Fells good thou.
@@spamhere1123 marauder is a super heavy, the whiplash is a heavy. The tyrant is probably the hardest super heavy in the game. Maybe the archvile if you don't find him quickly enough
