Fact 11 - Animals can and do laugh, certainly. My cousin has a little Brown Headed Parrot named Nova; Nova laughs and chuckles, and not just to get attention. She has a sense of human and understands English so well that she will laugh at jokes and funny stories exactly when we might light, but often BEFORE we can bust up. She will laught at funny points even if we're talking in another room, so she is not taking visual cues from our expressions to know to make this sound we lie and praise her for. She laughs by herself too, as in I can be telling a story and my cousin jusy shakes her head and smiles, but Nova will sometimes laugh aloud as if very amused. She chuckles sarcastially too, such as when the other parrot or the dog is being teased or scolded but she's not. It's hilarious and just a little amazingly weird. Speaking of the dog, he also smiles at humor. He'll be laying on the floor with his head down, then lift it and watch us when we're saying funny things, and he starts to smile until he's grinning in mirth. By the by, neither of my cousins parrots talk. They CAN, we've heard words from them now and then [Dee once said hello when she had been pet-sat for a weekend and mom came home, spoken as if she was timing and scared to believe mom was back] but they will not talk. They communicate non-verbally and with bird sounds and talk, but will not speak. Yet, Nova laughs, and understands humor. She's a fascinating little bird!

Thanks for the animal trivia! Here is another bit: Male seahorses carry around their tiny newborns in a pouch and "give birth" to them when they are developed enough to survive on their own.
My favorite animal fact: like bats using echolocation, electric eels can do the same thing with electricity. Think about that. They have the capability of sensing the speed of light!

My soon to be 18 year old tuxedo cat adores most vegetables and certain fruits, especially manderine oranges, green beans and broccoli. Also loves whipped cream from the can.
Hummingbirds are incredible animals.
