  • Crossing back into Devon as we arrive into Plymouth, we arrive at our next stop, The Plym Valley Railway. Parking in Coypool Park and Ride we purchase our tickets, and await the arrival of the train. Propelled by Sentinel 0-4-0DH No. 10077 we board the brake van, offering a straight a head view of the line as we travel the one and a half miles to Plym Bridge Platform, pausing halfway to allow the guard to operate the gates at Lee Moor Crossing by hand. Following a break at Plym Bridge, we return to Marsh Mills where I was lucky enough to invited into the cab for the return trip, again offering a perfect view of the line. Once back at Marsh Mills, we take a look around the sidings, ending as the Sentinel heads away on another journey of the line.
With free parking at Coypool on Sundays, it's easy to enjoy a trip on the Plym Valley Railway, and why not make a day of it by taking your bike on the Plym Valley Cycle Trail which parallels the line to Plym Bridge, before continuing on uphill (videos coming next week)!
Videos from my July 2019 Dartmoor camping trip will be uploaded every Wednesday at 1800, hit subscribe to make sure you don't miss any!!

Fair do's on bagging a cab ride 👍🏼 there's a couple of Welsh lines that offer this albeit at a extra cost (Fairbourne & somewhere you've been before, Llanberis Lake)

More luck than anything else. Think I was the only one on the train. And I was busy filming and got invited up.
I’ve seen the sign advertising at the Fairbourne, but I had no idea the Llanberis lake did it too!

@@benembling4027 They do, although as far as I'm aware at Llanberis Lake, it's advertised in the station building at Gilfach Ddu & is a inclusive price (including train fare in that) of £22 & interchangeable with up to 3 people (as you can ride the route with chances of swapping with your friends at Llanberis & Cei Llydan). Next time you walk through the door at Gilfach Ddu, check it's there & enquire at shop counter 👍🏼 it's something that's tempting me for a return visit there....😊
