It's amazing how they can play such in sync with that amount of people without a conductor! I was astonished by how everyone was just looking at the concertmaster.
The Concertmaster here (young woman with the short hair playing first violin) must have been born with a violin in her hands. She plays it like a BOSS.
This was beautiful. The open strings at the beginning really set the tone for this amazing piece. I also like that you played it a bit "slower" than most other versions on UA-cam. It's my favorite version that I've found so far, and it really helps to learn it slower before speeding it up any more, if any at all (given that I'm going to have to play the solo violin parts, send your prayers! haha.) Thanks for sharing this!
I found the contrast in tempo between the movements to be quite interesting. First two feel a smidge slow while the last two are break neck! Bravissimo!!
i have been hearing dozens of versions of this work, and i think like yours is very enjoyable... maybe the best, but I think in a little slow "tempo". Remember its origin: folk dances it means savage music(the last movement better than all) Thanks for sharing. And, please forgive my english mistakes. Greeting from Mexico City
The Danubia Orchestra (conducted by Domonkos Héja) and the Muzsikás perform the Romanian Folk Music of Bartók in the Liszt Academy, Budapest ua-cam.com/video/4HAIHSqiwAA/v-deo.html And Béla Bartók plays it on piano himself: ua-cam.com/video/Ukp3noJEGdY/v-deo.html Enjoy it!
I think I have also seen conductors in large Romanian folk orchestras as well. Macedonians used to have large folk groups with lots of violins to accompany well known singers that had conductors. Especially during the socialist days.

I loved it, also you cant say "too slow". this is classic music and nobody is dancing there.. by the way :). Anyway this piece is a marvel at any rate. But... I also dont wan't to pretend im expert .
It is nice, but I think the Sidney Camerata could have listened to folk music from the region, it would have improved the performance, especially of the first movement. There the accent is completely misunderstood. Of course you can always say it is a re-interpretation, but I do not think it added to the original piece, but rather the other way around.
+Crystal_Skies Yes, I can. But that's not the point. You have to choose a tempo that suits the music, and Horvath's point is that they failed to do that. I am not sure that he's right, but I don't think you should try to shut down his critical interpretation of the music. It is true that they slowed it down (especially the last movement!), and based on the sound of the orchestra, it was because they needed time to nail the technical aspects, not for musical reasons, which is a sound basis for criticism.
@@josephanthony8585 Maaaby I did, I give a thumb down, knowing that there's a version of this piece played by tessa Lark, that sounds way more original ... ^^ But just maby.. ^^
A great gift for the listeners!. Thanks to Sydney Camerata

I have loved Romanian music for a long time--tender, nostalgic and heart-warming. World folk music is a must for all music lovers.
We play this song in my class
It's so catchy and beautiful ^.^

...this is PURE LOVE...
One of the best performances in youtube. Congratulations!
This is brilliantly played. Marvellous.

so beautiful this piece. We play it in our orchestra this season till the 17th of June👍

I played this song back in 6th grade, first time I've heard it in years.
Bravissimi.O interpretare absolut perfectă și de o sensibilitate deosebită.
juste magnifique !
BRAVISSIMI! Grazie del video!
Estos australianos se las pintan haciendo música. !Bravo!.

Wonderfull. I have to play the second and third for my piano lesson now. Really nice plays
Yes, hungarian folk bands have a conductor called "prímás" :)
so perfect
We are playing this in a middle school chamber orchestra.....We kinda suck XD
Lol!
great job!!
Great indeed!
For those who put a thumbs down, I look for comments by them explaining why they did that and I find none.

Of all the versions of the Folk Dances on youtube, this is my favourite. Who is that amazing First Violin?
I have to play the first one but I'm a begginer and the rest are advanced so I sound so bad when next to the others🥴
Not bad, but listen it from a hungarian band called Muzsikás ;)

Actually this is folk music
a_chair “romanian folk dances” is not folk music. it is a classical piece composed by a classical composer- bartok.
第1楽章はかっこいい。
第2楽章は少し軽快で囁く様。
第3楽章はどこか怪しげ。
第4楽章は和音に感動する。
第5楽章はガラッと変え楽しげ。
第6楽章は、全てのクライマックス。
Folk groups from the region of these dances don't need conductor's.

I'm interested in what a more authentic interpretation would be. Is there a different link of this piece on youtube that you recommend?

Sorry, I meant the second movement.

❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
I think the first one is too slow. It's a dance, it's supposed to have vigor and energy!
Lol poor people without the melody

Sorry guys, but all movements are way too slow.
No it isn't. The pace is neither too fast nor slow. There has to be a middle ground, and they're on it.
No they aren't. They are the perfect speed.
Can YOU play it WAY faster? Just enjoy the music for what it is.

+András Horváth It's called "creating music", not playing notes on paper.
For those who put a thumbs down, I look for comments by them explaining why they did that and I find none.
Don't know why my comment repeated itself and can't get rid of it.
