I did a R134A conversion on a miata I used to have and it didn't wind up working well since it was a midget system, like the car itself lol. I decided to experiment with HFC-152A which is more similar to R12 and damn that worked awesome. Sold it shortly after that. I picked up quite a few tips about A/C work I didn't know from this video.
@@Krankie_V HFC-152A is keyboard duster. GM experimented using it in the past and if I remember right it was listed as a safe alternative use refrigerant. There's a few people on youtube that have pretty detailed videos using it if you look it up. I bought some keyboard duster from Walmart that said it contained HFC-152A on the back of the can and used a R12 side can tap since the cans are the same size. I was pretty surprised how well it worked.
@@MattsRageFitGarage ah yes okay that is legal but only in secondary loop systems because it's flammable. Not real safe to use in a traditional system. Wouldn't recommend doing that again LOL
@@Krankie_V I was concerned about the flammability and even tried igniting it spraying out of the can and all I managed to do was put my mapp gas torch out. Might be more flammable under pressure. Some of those R12 substitutes are also flammable.

Interesting... That's a refrigerant I've not heard of. I don't believe it's legal for on road use?

@@Krankie_V Also forgot to mention the HFC-152A is supposed to be compatible with both pag and mineral oils.
