Shinkenger and Gokaiger are definitely some of the best shows I have ever seen. I struggle to find flaws in both of those shows but it’s just so hard when everything is so badass
Honorable mention: Iconic and fun posing Sentai does this consistently well. Riders it's not too important as of late. When the heros strike not only iconic, but mimicable poses it helps strike a chord within the younger audience. It's just fun as hell! Best examples to me are Black RX, Dairanger, Bioman, Fourze, Donbrothers, and Denziman.
Well, for a toku show. The writing, and how the character develops is the thing that makes a tokusatu show great. For example. We see how characters from Gokaiger, or Kamen Rider Decade. We see how much they develop. Marvelous went from a selfish, scared (semi), loner, reckless person to someone who actually found bonds, and friends to care for and love. He's managed to also keep those aspects of his personality. When always meeting new sentai teams, or individuals. He acts selfish, and that he doesn't care. Deep down, he's testing them if they're worthy of being a sentai team and see past his deception. He's essentially becoming AkaRed. The amount of bonds he made with his crew strengthens him. For example, when Basco captured his fellow crewmates. Marvelous was clearly thinking down his heart to give up the keys for them, but he managed to make a plan which would manage for him to rescue them without having to give up anything expect showing his care for his team. It showed he was willing to do anything for them. They're his family. He has been an orphan his entire life, unlike Ahim or Luka who had family until they lost them. Or like Joe who once had a best friend. Marvelous had one who would be Basco who ended up backstabbing him. Honestly, I love Gokaiger. It just fits the theme of an anniversary series, and "Super Sentai". It honors the legacy of the past, and future Sentai Teams. Marvelous has taken the position of the embodiment of every past and future red. Regardless, if he doesn't realize it. The amount of times he has shown off traits we never saw in him before. Last thing. I'm a huge shipper of them both, but I have analyzed their past interactions, and more. I seen Marvelous, and Ahim as more than friends. People also thought Marvelous as not a threat and more. I think of him as being naive, reckless, and other stuff. In the inside, he's afraid, determined, caring, and confident. Also sincere. For instance. In episode 41 of Gokaiger. Titled "Something I don't want to lose" It goes into depth about how Ahim is important to the crew especially Marvelous. It tells us how she is essential to the crew. She keeps it afloat. And when she wants to basically die alone in battle with Zatsurig. Marvelous and the others tell her why it is stupid, and why they should do it together. Marvelous is the one who comforts her, by putting his hand on her head and reminding her of her goal. She was touched and inspired. She was motivated. She found purpose. She remembered the promise she made. To make the survivors from her planet to have hope. To hold to it. And Marvelous reminding her and comforting her. Just shows his sincerity. He has always cared deeply about everyone, especially her. He is moved by others, and when other past sentai heros/regular people tell him that he wants to defend the Earth. He denys it. He doesn't tell them what he truly thinks. He tried to keep it all secret. They realized what he thought about. But he's more open to Ahim, then anyone else. Every time she asks about his past. He reveals it. He has such a unique relationship with her. It goes very deep. To the point where they could have feelings for each other. She even said in Episode 29 "I leave this to you." This is what makes Marvelous special. His traits, abilities, thoughts, personality, bonds and much more. He has become more than what AkaRed imagined him to be. He is the embodiment of every red. Same goes for Ahim. She's the embodiment of all the past pinks and other colors she represents. The Gokaigers are the embodiments of the past heros. And future ones. Back to episode 41 and their dynamic. Marvelous has had many moments with her. Moments he probably cherishes, and the same goes for her. She gets to trust him more when he's more open and shows his true colors. This is what makes the Gokaigers such a unique Sentai. She worries about him. So does he. This is just the truth. They both have some sort of attachment towards each other. They both fuel each other. Even Ten Gokaiger showed us the potential of their dynamic. They're both unique Sentai rangers. They have both opened up, and they both are empathetic. This is why I just genuinely think they have feelings for each other. This is what Gokaiger is about. The power of love, dreams, bonds, traits, memories, revising, socializing and much more.
Now, don't start an arguments... but i do believe, a perfect toku shows needs a low-angle jumping shots, and zoom shots... a lot of zoom shots... And dynamic camera angle too!
I think the descriptions fits well with kingohger Everything is just amaizing, from story, suits, mechas, music and even coreoraphy is good The green screen can be bothersome but even with bad green screen can ignore if the story is so good
Yeah people do complain about the green screen, but I wouldn't call it bad ( especially for a show with around 50 episodes ). I'm with you on the quality of the show and I'd say everything else more than makes up for it!
Next video coming out has a little bit of talk about Masamune Date, the legendary samurai - Does that count as a local hero in Japan? Indy Toku sounds pretty fun to do a vid on!
So like fourze it may not be everyone's cup of tea but i like it and it did what it wanted to do have adventures in the school and make friends but it's more then that it has good villains and a good supporting cast and side characters that useful even without being kamen riders they help gentarou so many times it has a good secondary rider good beginning middle and end good side content good homages to the showa era and designs and songs if w ooo fourze are considered a trilogy then I'll say it's the best trilogy and ultraman orb and shinkenger and build and gaim and gokaiger are cool too lol
this kinda ties into action, but also a great finisher, with a cool name, and perfect timing for use. i haven't seen much kamen rider, so if this isn't as apparent in such, I can understand forgoing it for a perfect TOKU show, but for sentai at the least, a great finisher is always cool and flashy. While I appreciate the use of finishers being used often in Kingohger lets say, as it kinda shows off the gravity of the situation, and the strength of the foe, it also starts to lose its meaning. Take Gokaiger's final wave, and later Galleon Buster, its always used tastefully in my eyes, final waves have a few different combos, and each character strikes an according pose. My only disappointment comes from minimal individuality, the Galleon Buster or Rekka Daizantou are examples of things that limit that, but combo weapons like say the Big Bomber in JAKQ, or the Dino Bomber in Abaranger are cool, and in the latters case, can be added onto, as seen with the Super Dino Bomber, and later the Superior Dino Bomber. It has a simple, yet effective name, showing off how much stronger it is, but still being a core weapon.
I really like a lot of the finishers for sure! I especially like when they have a few dif combos with the combined weapons! One that I always thought was a little strange though was Dekaranger's where Murphy transforms into a giant zooka lol
@@Acrimony_Toku yeah but i kinda mad when they just skip the lore of that episode or movie, they only like the fight scene, bro even the kamen rider they don't care about the henshin😭

@@Acrimony_Toku I hope Jou gets more personality beyond your average, friendly cop since Shirabe is even outshining him for being ponkotsu. imo, I'd like to see him being antagonizing to what Genba and Ishiro does.

It was only a couple of years ago I found out about Super Sentai but never really looked into it.. I wanted to watch how Super Sentai handled shows of my favorite rangers (Some include Mighty Morphin, Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder to name a few). I did try to watch Bakuryu Sentai Abranger but I put on hold due to being busy and since your videos got recommended to me I wanted to give Super Sentai another watch. I went with Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger because I was curious on how they handle the concept of having previous ranger powers. I really liked the cast in the first episode and will now complete this one and then give Abranger a watch. Random siderant - I loved the concept of being able to transform to previous ranger suits but wow did they did such a horrible job (opinion) in Megaforce and Super Megaforce. I went to Gokaiger to see how they handle that concept and I’m only a couple of episodes in and I love the story, characters and just how less child friendly it can sometimes be (with them showing blood and other stuff).
Gokaiger is definitely a great show, no doubt, and in response to what you said about PR megaforce and Super megaforce handling the classic transformation poorly, I'd say Gokaiger definitely handles this well - Much love was given to that aspect of the show IMO
For someone who has been going through every season prior to Gokaiger, with only 3 seasons left, most of the Showa era have been huge misses, the rangers and villains have been bland, the story boring, about every season the rangers being a secret government like group is getting tiring, I can't wait to see Gokaiger and get back to the good stuff.
You should give Ultraman a shot. Tsuburaya is one of the forefathers that to this day are still innovating and taking the classic spirit of tokusarsu and keeping it alive on the small screen alongside Toei's stuff.
