If any anime ever NEEDED a Season 2, *it has got to be this one.* What a send-off to this Season, man! Hope it eventuallly gets a 2nd run and hope to see you there when and if it happens! ^_^
The half-shot snake pendant that looks like a '2' at the very end could be an indication of an upcoming S2, right? I hope I'm not too high on copium bcs we need S2 ASAP! 😆
Same. I certainly wasn't expecting an MC like this when I started. I'm so used to power of friendship or op MCs (I watch a lot of isekai and power fantasy anime) but I don't run across edge lords that much so it was entertaining to see this one in this way that Brandon always describes it as. "Edge done right" or you can call it badass. I'm going to look for more because honestly less than a handful of these MCs makes me want to watch more lol. I was expecting power of friendship or something else generic like that, but it's been great. Exceeded my expectations tbh. I only started watching it because of the title. Ig the cover got me too
Crazy how Noel broke up all of Leon's friendships yet still manages to get him to call him master 😅 like no matter what Noel said to Leon and to his ex-friends, dude did not betray them lol! He was just worried for their safety ffs 😂 yeah he knows he's stronger them all which is exactly why he hesitated because he didn't want to hurt them with his crazy power. Noel's secret skill yapper is super effective against friendships 😅
I think that the thing that makes Noel a compelling protagonist despite his... ruthlessness, is that he knows when and where. If it is time to be the lowest scumbag possible, may the gods of anime help you (not Aqua). If it is time to show proper leadership and support, he has your back, even at your lowest point. He is an extreme man, like Hajime Nagumo from Arifureta, and the craziest thing about both is they are both trench-coat-wearing, gun-slinging, red-eyed pragmatists, but they are also in a sense polar opposites of the same type of character. Noel is dark-haired, and dresses in lighter colors, but is committed to his rutlessness, even when being "kind" (the parting of Leon and Keim). Nagumo is white-haired and dresses in dark colors, but is inside a friendly guy who is fiercely loyal and caring, despite his roughness. Noel grows progressively darker as he advances in his race to the top, but does not forget kindness can also be a good tool. Nagumo grows progressively lighter as he fights to reach his goal, but does not abandon his decisiveness even when being nice. What a thing that both series air on the same day. Yes. Give me more ruthless underdog Noel clawing viciously his way to the top. Some call this edgy, but to me, this is the best "meritocratic" series in recent memory. 10/10 would recommend and if you need another pitchfork and torch if no Season 2 is confirmed, you got them, Brandon.
Love Arifureta, and I think it was the first anime I started reading the LN for. Need S4 now. And if there isn´t confirmation for S2 of Talker soon-ish, well that´s just another LN on my list.
_This comment unironically deserves far more likes._ Because you just summarized with perfection what makes Noel such a compelling MC, *_no, scratch that,_* what makes him a compelling CHARACTER in general! I am unabashed in saying out loud, this was the most enjoyable anime I've watched in all of 2024. And that's saying something, because we had some absolute giants this year! _But for this genre, The Most Norotious Talker takes the crown._
You gotta love Leon that keeps it 100. Forget the power of friendship and bonds. If you have a dream or a goal, you gotta be willing to do whatever it takes, and the price you must pay for being HIM is being seen as infamous in the eyes of those who don't have the to do what you do.. It was fun watching this and hope we get a season 2 I need more of it
Noel pushed harder than I thought, but thats bcs I didnt realize how much jealousy was build up in the disbanned party... And I really hope we get S2 confirmed... speaking of them Unwanted undead got S2 confirmed... Glad to see that one :) together with S2 Skeleton knight which is ok.
There is one factor the Anime changed compared to the Manga (haven't read the Light Novel yet, so i don't know if it's the same in it or not). Leon already knew from long ago that he was more powerful compared to his other party members, and they felt weak compared to him (especially his sworn brother). Which is why, he decided to never use his full power in any situation because he felt insecure about his own strength. Even in that fight with that Mind-Reading Monkey monster, if Leon had gone full power, he could have easily one-shot it, but he chose to not use it because of the said situation with his party members.
The anime may not have explicitly said it, but I think it insinuated it pretty nicely through the Guild Master gramps. When he's talking to his grandaughter, he makes a pretty on-point comment about "But now we ended up with a more promising team. *And Leon will now be able to use his abilities to the fullest."* I think that was a pretty nice hint that Leon had always been holding back before. But now he's on a party with equally monstrous members and getting sent to just as insanely difficult quests. It's perfect for him to push past his limits!
@@MrDibara I think they hinted at it in a flashback where Leon had to use that special slash attack to safe his childhood friend, Keim. Leon actually did not want to use that attack fearing he might kill Keim.
Has to be a S2!!! I BEG!!! Recruiting Leon is hella big play, clearly showing he knows what he wants, doesn't mince words, knows the strength of the clan comes first, the thing is their power isn't overshadowed or anything by Leon's ability like Noel says himself Winged Knights was built around Leon the rest of them aren't remarkable, they are preety much replaceable. Ticking time bomb if it didn't happen by Noels design it would have happened eventually anyway. Just he speed ran the process 😅such a great anime MC I am going to miss this show!
Well this and the Grieving Souls shows are pretty refreshing where we get power fantasy but with the MC not being the most powerful on the pure powerscale but still coming out on top either by creating the best guild through any means or getting the leader of best guild because of a luck/curse dynamic.
I love how Noel controls his own narrative and he encourages his crew to reclaim their lives. Noel is brutal in a savage world. Show was my guilty pleasure. Szn 2 asap!
Backstabbing happens a lot more than people think a best friend, and family are more likely backstab you especially when good things goes your way or you better yourself. Look at some homicides they are gruesome and harrowing.
Call me crazy, but I think the members of the disbanded Winged Knights are all better off as they left in this Episode. Noel _DID_ have a point, there was envy and contempt brewing in that party and tarnishing their friendship since a while now. Maybe now, they can at least keep a somewhat amicable feeling with each other, as distant acquaintances sure, but no longer working their ass off to try and catch up to Leon's talent and Leon himself no longer holding himself back and not growing his talent. By the way, that grandpa bartender was a real one! His pep talk was really grounded and exactly what Keim needed to hear in that moment. Speaking of him, Keim turned out a real OG as well! Going out like an "enraged party member who was betrayed" just to help push Leon into going his own way without looking back with regret. He literally took a punch for his little bro! 🥲 I'm sorry, but that just made me emotional...! *Also, Noel is a real gangsta for choppiing off Edgar's nose like that.* 😁👌 This is the kind of MC that is neither a pure scumbag who never considers his companions, nor is he a good guy like Leon. _He's just real. Deception against his enemies aside, he'll tell you how things are plain and simple, no matter how brutal and uncaring the truth is._ That _"Be selfish, don't be sentimental, throw everything aside so that what you value will remain in history"_ speech he gave to Leon was pretty much what needed to be said to a guy who was, in short, too kind for his own good. In the very heartless, cruel world of this story, you _need_ to have some dawg in ya in order to survive and thrive. Otherwise, others will just stomp on you. Like I said, Noel just tells it how it is and I like that.
Although similar to Let This Grieving Soul Retire, Krai and Noel are way, WAY different characters than I initially imagined. Krai is lazy AF but also his Kazuma-level luck somehow keeps the world safe from his clan mates. Well... most of... hmm... some of it. Noel, on the other hand suffers no fools and works his ass off to chase his dream, no matter whom he has to step on, sell to slavers, or kill to get there. There's lots of interesting characters that I want to see more of and the creativity in taking down the baddies (or acquiring teammates) has been very entertaining. The serpent visuals are cool too! 7.5/10. S2 would be nice. Speaking of s2s... The Unwanted Undead Adventurer AND Skeleton Knight in Another World are getting them! Rentt and Arc are coming back baby!🎉
Krai used Tino to get himself a firsthand look at the relics... Krai used his clan members to charge his relics... Both of them use people, differently, but they still use people ^_^;;
Noel is the most edgy MC that I've ever seen, but done in the right way 😌 Leon joining his clan was quite surprising 😮 His friend telling him to continue to move forward without looking back 🥹 Watching this show every Monday was an incredible and insane ride! I hope a season 2 will happen ASAP 🙏🏻
Damn I did not see that coming, making Leon join Noel's clan >_< Arma's attack on that monster was AMAZING!!! She practically became the bullet and punch a hole through that thing. Wild Tempest, now that is a cool clan name.
That one dude a couple of episodes back, he's with one of the stronger clans. I think he's a target recruit. Noel is trying to build the strongest clan, and he's going out pushing buttons of very strong people. That is the way he lures them in.
Hmm, somehow the Monkey Lord still saw Alma's attack. But what he couldn't predict anymore because he lost the stone, was that Alma was gonna use her new Phantom Assassin Ability to be invulnerable for 3 seconds and cannon ball his stomach with quick attack. Nicely done and quite fast. The action overall was nice. I liked how Noel used his talking skills as a talker to buy time for the party and make the monster fall for the Poison Gas trap. He really is the greatest yapper XD. And his tactics are very good. I enjoyed how they handled the recruiting for Leon. It kind of made sense for Leon to join. But then again I wonder how his righteous will interfere with Noel or if he won't be righteous anymore. Noel has Chosen a very fitting name and Symbol for his Clan. Wild Tempest and a Snake with wings. Leon doesn't seem to oppose the idea of good and bad intertwining in this Clan. Pinocchio nose guy has gotten his fair share taste of justice. May it be a little overkill? Probably. Was it different to the normal goodie shoes approach in most isekais? Definitely.
He will surely go down as one of the most bad.a.ss MCs ever! 🔥This anime might end up being underrated, but it’s definitely in my list of the best original anime of the year (i.e., no prior seasons-just its epic first start). Hats off to the entire team for delivering such quality! 🙌
More than edgy (IMO) Noel character is driven, I admit loved how he doesn't give a fuck about anything but what he wants. The thing I hate about edgy characters in general, is that they tend to be always whiny or only vengeance focused or even worse EMOs😜 In any case, this anime was somewhat refreshing all things considered. I'm afraid it wasn't popular enough to get a S2 though.
For those wrestling fans out there, Noel is basically Karrion Kross if Karrion Kross actually WON all of his matches 😅😅 like none of Leon's party mates were even bad people, they all shared the power of friendship but with just a few choice words at the perfect time, Noel shattered them to pieces 😂 he's entertaining af but also the baddie 😅
Noel _did_ have a point about the jealousy and contempt slowly growing within them. The Winged Knights lowkey felt like one of those animes where the main cast start out as a group of friends all together, but there is a little friction there that is simply pushed to the side, until it eventually escalates into a tragic situation. Yes, motherfucker definitelly sped up things, but he wasn't wrong about it fated to happen eventually. Keim's envy could've grown much deeper and more stubborn with enough time, to the point he might not have felt remorse for stabbing Leon. Don't underestimate jealousy, it is a POWERFUL if venomous emotion that will strip away your qualities if you don't deal with it! In a very twisted way, Noel lowkey did Keim and the other party members a favor. If that lashout was gonna happen one day anyway, vent it out now and be done with it rather than let it keep building up inside you. Yes, that wasn't Noel's intention, he just wanted to get Leon on his side, but it _still_ was a side-effect of his schemes and one that had a subtle positive affect on the Winged Nights. Now each of the former members can get up and follow their own paths.
I think one reason this show wasn’t as popular as it could’ve been was due to it being edgy and how the in thing for the internet right now is to hate on all things edgy as if it it automatically means bad. While there are valid reasons not to like edgy content and there are some objectively bad edgy anime, games, and ect out there, it’s a huge over generalization to assume that because something is edgy that it means bad. In the case of Notorious Talker it’s good edge. The edginess like any other trope in story creation was USED well and was not overdone or used lightly in a half baked way. I like the character of Noel. I know his type of character isn’t usually liked and is seen a jerk at best and someone deserves an agonizing death at worst but he’s the kind of guy who in the real world would actually do pretty well because of how ruthless he can be when people do him wrong or are in the way but also helpful when he wants your services or can be helpful to him in turn. Sorry if you like nice guy characters but how Noel sees the world is not too different from ours. In short he’s a real dude who’s chasing things ambitiously but realistically. Using what he has by any means necessary.
I just enjoyed the last little bit of Noel going, I'm the weakest class, but I'll run world's greatest clan. He admits he has faults, but knows his strengths. I wish the translation was Sensei not Master. I'm learning from you but I'm not subject to you.
I was watching them while binging season one of shield hero, and I will say they every episode of talker felt full while many shield hero episodes reminded me of the DBZ talking episodes.
love this mc, real badass. not like that other mc that act badass and cool , in reality he just collecting girls for his harem and get stuck with loly. lol

I don’t know why someone said it’s a serpent….its a basilisk
Really enjoy this show
Noel, a Higurashi character in a fantasy setting. When the snake rolls out the shit gets real. I liked it, one of the better shows of the season.
This has become my anime of the year, followed closely by _Failure Frame_. Both were really well-written.
I hope there’s a S2. The LN is awesome
Best episode ever
love this mc, real badass. not like that other mc that act badass and cool , in reality he just collecting girls for his harem and get stuck with loly. lol
Best anime of the season! By far the best written!
