    I was one of a lucky few to see it through the clouds in Central Texas. It was so cloudy where we were in Blanco, TX, we decided to give up and beat the crowds out. A few miles down the road, my son said he could see it better, so we stopped. The clouds were thinner there, so we got to see the whole thing.

    When the eclipse starts to happen you can see the moon. I have seen it in other videos

    It's unfair. The last total solar eclipse seen in the Philippines is in 1995, the next one is 2042. 😢 I'm dead by then. I love space more than anything else. And i will die without even seeing an eclipse.

    Such happening reminds me of the novel 'King Solomon's Mine' when the primitive witch doctor was flabbergasted of the eclipse which saved Henry Hannah from sacrifice.

    Where does the moon come from ?

    • @rescue270
      @rescue270 6 місяців тому

      Most astronomers today believe that the moon originated as the result of a collision between the Earth and another smaller planet around four billion years ago. The smaller planet disintegrated, and some of the debris coalesced into another body that we now know as the Moon.

      Ah, well, the moon is, of course, in orbit around the Earth, and the Earth orbits the sun and rotates while orbiting. This rotation causes the the sun to rise and set and move across the sky on Earth. Sometimes the Moon's orbital path will pass between the Earth and the Sun, causing the the Moon to come into alignment with the sun, resulting in an eclipse. The darkness is the Moon's shadow on the Earth. Since the Moon's orbital rate is different from the Earth's rotatation rate, there are times when the Sun and the Moon are on the same side of the Earth. We can only see the Moon during daylight when it is pretty well across the sky from the Sun. Since the Moon creates no light of its own, it is only visible when we can see the part of it that the Sun is shining on. When the Moon's position is in close visual proximity to the Sun, as it is in the hours preluding an eclipse, it is invisible to us on Earth because the Sun is shining on the portion of the Moon that is facing away from the Earth, and the blue light captured by the atmosphere prevents our seeing the side of the Moon that is in shadow. Therefore, it appears as if the Moon came out of nowhere and blocked the Sun. In actuality, it is only following its normal orbital path that just happened to bring it between Earth and Sun.

      That’s the reason why nasa fired 3 hologram rockets.

The moon makes no light of its own, so we can only see the part of the moon the sun is shining on. When in close visual proximity to the sun, the moon will not be visible because the sun is shining on the opposite side of the moon from the earth. In the case of an eclipse, it appears that the moon appeared out of nowhere and blocked the sun. Actually, it is following its normal orbital path around the earth, and this time it passed in front of the sun.
