Men seem so confused as to why she chose him. As a woman I'd say he's maybe one of the most lovable guys in all of Hollywood. And time has only proven that he's very talented and attractive too, just as she is.
I would also guess that he has a sister or two, whom he has a real love for.

John plays along with this ‘wow didn’t I marry up’ narrative. It’s a mark of his genuine modesty and Emily IS gorgeous in any way you’d care mention. BUT! As well as being warm and funny and intelligent and sweet, he is also in my opinion way more handsome than he gives himself credit for. Two really beautiful people inside and out found mutual success and lasting happiness and that’s joyous and fortunate for them both in equal measure.

He got her because he asked her out. Many men are too scared to ask beautiful women out nowadays. Being weird and stalkerish is not attractive. She is very touching, she finds him attractive. Woman find self confidence attractive - even if you feel nervous, that bold walk to ask a woman out is always great.

Sorry but some of these interviewers are mad rude, John is an equally talented as Emily! He didn’t marry up if anything they went up as a couple
And that's why I have to so much respect for John, he just happily agrees knowing that Emily knows his worth and so he need not prove anything to anyone about their dynamics, every Emily interview and her demeanor on red carpets even the way she looks at him is an example of how much she respects him and cherishes him... That's an example of a strong relationship with no place for ego and inferiority complex...

Seeing as he is the star they are interviewing, I’m sure they know his worth, and in no way think she is better than him lol! I always took it as they are just joking with him, and he never seems offended by it... and often he is the one who jokes about marrying up
