I see it happening. Kimi to Williams for the last half of the season letting Mercedes sit on their hands to see how he does. If Kimi fails, Merc signs Carlos, if he does well he wraps up the season at Williams then Merc signs him for '25 leaving Williams to pick up a second driver, probably Botas.

There wouldn't be so much hype around this child if he wasn't named after The Iceman

Nope, I don’t agree, it’s hyped due to talent, he won every major championship he competed, like piastri for example

There would be, please watch the absolute pace he has in a mid car (Bearman had pace lately too, yes, for 2 races. Antonelli has since the 2nd race)

Antonelli hasn't shown nearly enough in f2 yet to even be considered for an f1 seat. Promoting him this early would imo completely ruin his career as he will obviously underperform on the hype and be cast aside. He needs to develop like any other young driver

Also what is the point of F2 if teams don't prioritise the drivers that win or compete for wins in the series. Winning f2 seemingly means nothing compares to simply having hype around you. Fred vesti performed brilliantly in last year's f2 championship and nobody is considering him for the Williams seat. I think this highlights a major flaw in the feeder series system

Kimi (Raikonnen): Experience? If you’re one of the greats, you don’t need no experience.

Antoneli needs at least 2 seassons in F2. If not he can be broken like Sargeant or like Albon first F1 entry. This kid needs time and needs to gain his superlicense on merit.

I don't like the idea of Kimi being in Williams. If Mercedes wants to put Kimi in Mercedes for 2025 and if they wany to form Kimi with F1 experience in 2024, the best they could do would be doing weekly F1 private tests, FP1 sessions and the post season tests.
Williams is not a good place for a rookie as they need a driver that can be clinical. Valtteri Bottas is perfect for that Williams seat for 2025. Ironically, the best team for Antonelli to debut in F1 is Mercedes and the best driver for Williams in 2025 is Bottas.

I'm no expert but it strikes me as kinda crazy to say, he is ready for a Super License due to his experience in a Formula FOUR car. That's three leagues down.

Does Antonelli not also need a Italian drivers license to get his super license. So i would imagine he would need wavier for couple of GP after Dutch one so he can sit his test.

Me neither with his middling f2 campaign he shown he's not* ready yet and it might have been a mistake to skip f3
      EDIT added not

@@ShadowWalker-ng1it I agree regarding his performance. Don't get me wrong, he does have talent, but Kimi Antonelli is too much of a dirty driver right now to be considered for a big team. He gives me Grosjean/Ocon vibes; a seemingly nice chap outside of the car, but in the car, he is a menace who ends other peoples races in questionable ways.
Oscar Piastri was a much cleaner driver in the junior categories.
For Kimi, I could see him drive in an Alpine, Haas, Williams or Sauber, but I don't think he will be succesful enough to be promoted to the bigger teams like Ferrari and Red Bull.

The age restriction was brought in because of Max and this to me is the first time that such a request has come in.
Will the FIA have a rule change? Its pie in the sky. They cant be seen to back down on this rule. Also dont forget he alosohas to have a driving license which is the second requirement.
It is clear to me , as he is a Mercedes driver , only Mercedes could make the request to waive the age requiremnet and cleary the FIA have told them they have no chance , hence the statement from Mercedes now. I dont think Williams would be interested in Antonelli and they are not a Mercedes B team and could not have applied for a waiver for a driver who is not one of theirs. Someone like Bottas would be ideal as you say.

Doesn't look like it can happen with Alex Albon in the seat either. Let's be realistic, in '23 Williams was reaping the rewards of Jost Capito's great work (who then left over being "saddled" by Dorilton management with the dud that is Logan Sargent). Enter James Vowles, Toto's obedient yes-man, who made a complete mess of things, the FW46 is a veritable sh*tbox, and now we are where we are.
