This is absolutely tragic, and i say this a a Youngstown native who has seen this city decline for decades.
To be clear, I no longer live in Youngstown, but stay abreast of news from there. It's my home town .
The loss of The Realty Building not only changes the skyline of the city, but accentuates the hard fact that, past a point, there is no path for Youngstown to find any way forward.
This leaves a hole in the city and in our collective hearts.
We can "Shout Youngstown" as much as we want, but this does not seem a well run city.

It's all up to building owners.
I doubt the city could really do too much to keep them from demolishing.
